23/06/2026: Group of 7 bikes, very well received by staff, plat de jour was simple but well cooked, with a buffet entre, cheese, dessert and glass of wine it was good value for money. Surprisingly quiet at lunch…. Lovely lady owner was very attentive. Great place for a working lunch.

08/06/2026: We had an absolutely exceptional time at this restaurant! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with rare kindness and warmth. The owners welcomed us as if we were part of their family, which made our experience even more enjoyable. As for the food, everything was delicious. The dishes were generous, flavorful, and prepared with great care. We truly enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end. But what particularly touched us was the attention given to our son, Lucas. The owners' children came to play with him and naturally included him in their games. This simple and thoughtful gesture deeply moved us and helped make this moment unforgettable. A huge thank you to the whole family for this exceptional welcome, your kindness, and your generosity. We left with full stomachs but, above all, with hearts full of wonderful memories. We wholeheartedly recommend this establishment and will gladly return if we are ever in the area again!

07/06/2026: Good food, closet prepared steak to my liking while in France, but still a little to raw for my taste. Found a new bourbon here! Woodford reserve, very Good!! Very much enjoyed the outside seating, except for people smoking at their tables. Miss that from U.S. restaurants where it is not allowed.

04/07/2026: The service was excellent from start to finish, with a smiling and very attentive team (a real plus when you're with children). The dishes arrived hot, the meat was cooked perfectly, and the children's menus were a hit with everyone. A sure bet for a friendly and welcoming experience. We'll definitely be back!

Superb homemade cuisine, very pleasant service, a lovely atmosphere in the dining room, and a delightful surprise with the sparkling and delicious "L'Espérance" gourmet platter. 20/05/2026: We came hoping to enjoy a good meal of quality cuisine and were quite prepared to pay the price for a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, we were all very disappointed. The ribeye steak was completely underseasoned, and the two duck breasts we ordered rare were anything but when they arrived. When the waiter finally noticed our dissatisfaction, we pointed out that the side dishes were still missing. They were only brought to us after we had finished eating. The pasta was bland, the risotto very small, and overall the dishes seemed very basic for the price. In the end, we all wished we had simply ordered burgers. The service was also disappointing. We were a table of seven, and the two women at the table didn't even have time to respond when asked if they wanted coffee: the waiter had already left. We also felt judged because of our age, as if young customers couldn't appreciate good food or be willing to spend money on a truly quality meal. The manager's attitude reinforced this impression, especially when she asked if we wanted to take the pasta home "since we probably had to work early the next day." This remark struck us as inappropriate and condescending. In the end, none of the seven of us felt the experience was worth the price. We won't be returning.

13/05/2026: Everything was in keeping with the setting, at least that day. We were pleasantly surprised by the decor when we entered. It was the last positive point of our lunch. A young, pleasant, smiling waitress seated us, and a young man, equally kind, brought us the menu. The waitress took our order: set menus, glasses of wine, gourmet coffees, and a standard carafe of water. The bread basket arrived, followed by the main courses, then the glasses of wine. No carafe. We asked again, and a third waiter, without a smile, pedantic or pretentious to a fault, brought it to us. The portions were small. The beef was only moderately tender, and the fries were meager. Once we had finished our main courses, we waited for dessert. A fourth waiter with curly hair came to ask us what we wanted. "We ordered desserts right from the start." "Very well, I'll check." 20 minutes later, still nothing! We went to the counter to complain and finally get the rest of our meal. We were surprised that we were there off-season, the restaurant was very empty that day at lunchtime, and the service was lacking. We're worried about the high season! If there even is a high season in Angoulême. To be fair to the staff, this establishment seems to be selective about its clientele. From the moment you arrive until you're seated at your table, management only seems to care about regular customers. It's a shame, the decor led us to expect a lovely experience.

30/06/2026: A stunning backyard where a proud van sits, from which the owner politely bills you. I swooned over the shredded marinated chuck steak. Absolutely divine! Here, everything is impeccably presented without being ostentatious. Everything exudes a simple elegance. Nicolas, a worker from the south who will be back.
