04/09/2026: Delicious, affordable price, and very pleasant servers

01/09/2026: Keep walking! The beach bar is a mere shadow of its former self! I spent so much time there as a child... Eating ice cream after the beach, karaoke, etc... well, I'll never set foot in there again! The service was absolutely terrible!!! We arrived for a drink after the beach, and the first comment was, "We shouldn't have moved a table," even though there were nine of us there for drinks (it was 6 pm, the terrace was empty!). The first time we were told, "But you have to leave by 7 pm, I have to set the table... Okay... Why not." My two cousins ​​arrived; it was one of their birthdays. They ordered a pint, which they practically had to gulp down because at 6:50 pm the waiter came to tell us we had to clear out!! What a welcome!! If we were planning to stay for dinner, forget it; we won't be spending our money there anymore! Last year, the waiter was unpleasant again over a chair/table issue, simply because we wanted to be seated for a drink! Wow, we're too demanding! Just so you know... There are plenty of other bars where you can still find the Oléron atmosphere and ambiance that I love so much.

23/05/2026: A wonderful discovery. The welcome was perfect, the service impeccable, and the food delicious. The setting and space are truly pleasant. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I had a really lovely dinner. I had prawn ravioli and chicken supreme. I didn't order dessert, but seeing the daily specials served at other tables, they looked mouthwatering, and the containers were all emptied by the customers.

18/05/2026: Well-located restaurant with a small menu. Friendly staff! We were just expecting a little more flavor. Disappointed by the quality of the mussels; they were small and white.

18/07/2026: It had been years since I'd been back to this restaurant, and frankly, I wasn't disappointed. The portions are generous, the value for money is truly excellent, which is becoming rare these days. The service is top-notch; the waitresses are very friendly, professional, and welcoming. A great place that I recommend without hesitation!

23/08/2026: What a pleasant surprise this restaurant was! Very good. The service was excellent. We had a wonderful meal. The prices are reasonable, and they offer set menus. I highly recommend it.

23/08/2026: Despite our late arrival (we were turned away from all other restaurants as there were eight of us – five adults and three children), we were greeted with humor. The dishes on the menu were very, very good. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly. We highly recommend it for both its friendly atmosphere and its delicious food.

30/08/2026: Good atmosphere, lovely view of the gutter. Seafood platter for the aperitif was fine. We chose mussels with blue cheese for our main course, but there was very little sauce... Still very good overall.

25/08/2026: We had a very pleasant evening at Moulin de la Baine. The location is, of course, superb; we had a table overlooking the Charente River. The service was attentive and efficient. And the dishes were very refined, especially the octopus and the lamb shank, which was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend it.

23/08/2026: Like many other reviewers, we were surprised by the portion sizes compared to the price. Perhaps the owners are used to customers who don't question the price and prefer them to others. But for some, a good restaurant like yours represents a "little indulgence," a treat. So, paying €24 for an eggplant without any sides and leaving hungry is disappointing. I'm a vegetarian, not on a diet. Furthermore, when the starter (Gazpasho) has more flavor than the main course, it's surprising, but let's just say that's a matter of personal taste. It's a shame because this doesn't reflect our initial impression from our visit in 2022. Is this related to the change in management?

31/08/2026: Exceptional service. Last day for the waitress as she's a student. She handled over 40 covers single-handedly, cheerfully, and without any waiting. Excellent methodology and organization, and a great memory. Bravo!

26/08/2026: We come to this restaurant every year; the setting is lovely, and we're never disappointed. We're always warmly welcomed, and so is our dog, a Border Collie 😉. The portions are generous and excellent. The desserts are homemade, as are all the dishes, and the fries are real (not frozen). The atmosphere is friendly, and the staff is attentive and caring. We'll gladly come back next year.
