01/01/2026: Lopez!!! The best ice cream parlor in ALL of Royan!! We already knew that!!! And their ice cream logs are to die for!! That was a real discovery. We devoured the Sicilian log!

30/12/2025: We ordered two Yule logs for four people for Christmas, and what a surprise when we took one of them out of its packaging—it was broken! I checked to make sure I hadn't broken it during transport, but no, the broken piece wasn't even in the box. When we politely pointed it out to the saleswoman today, she didn't believe us until she saw the photo, and the only thing she could say was, "But we check them..." Apparently not that often. I'm not saying mistakes can happen, especially during the Christmas season when there are a lot of orders, but the broken piece not being in the box means it was broken as soon as it was packaged in the kitchen... And to top it all off, in addition to being condescending, the saleswoman didn't even apologize, which, given the price of the log (€21.90 for the four-person version, remember), would be the bare minimum... Lopez is a Royan institution, but it's a shame that some employees don't live up to the brand's standards. the company and this damages its image.

02/10/2025: Excellent restaurant discovered by chance, excellent XXL scallop casserole, quality meat, XXL sirloin steak too, good desserts, warm and friendly welcome, more than reasonable prices, address to save when traveling between Angoulême and Bordeaux.

19/02/2026: I ordered linguine with truffle parmesan cream sauce... On paper, it promised a trip to Italy. On the plate, it was a quick trip back to a sloppy kitchen. The linguine, broken and overcooked, looked like tired vermicelli. The parmesan cream had evaporated, absorbed by the pasta, and the truffle was clearly playing hide-and-seek. A real disappointment for a dish that promised so much more.

30/10/2025: We had a coffee on the terrace overlooking the ocean and it was very pleasant. The staff, at this time of year, were very friendly and the coffee was delicious. In short, a perfect moment 🙏🏼🤗

03/06/2025: We went there last Sunday, and prior going, I tried to call at 1.40, to ensure they were still open, it says 15.00 on Google map, no answer. We still went. We arrive at 14.10, struggled to park, no real parking area, we waited by the patio entrance. We were eventually greeted by a waitress, out of breath carrying plates. We asked if we could eat, we were 2. She mumbled something like, "No, were only two doing the service, and i don't have the time" and she moved on. There were only about 5 tables with customers on the patio. What a waste of a journey going there.

25/05/2025: If you're a foodie, love nature, peace and quiet, and being by the Charente River, then you've found the perfect place. A plate full of originality, homemade bread. Thanks to a local service, we discovered L'Amaranthe. Thank you for this wonderful find in Port d'Envaux, this lovely little village.

11/01/2026: Between Saintes and Cognac, dare to stop by! Perfect cuisine! Delicious and generous foie gras with little touches to discover. We went for the kidneys (cooked to order, pink in the center for me) and the sweetbreads (divine and very generous). And then the revisited Black Forest cake, perfect after this wonderful meal. Not forgetting the perfectly smooth coffee. Bravo and thank you!
