11/10/2026: This restaurant has the delightful charm of an authentic oyster shack. Upon arrival, the owner gave us a warm welcome and made no problem at all with our dogs. We were able to choose our table and settled into a quiet corner at the back. The staff is very friendly, and it was truly kind of them to do their best to speak English, even though we spoke French very well. Their kindness was truly comforting. The meal was excellent! The oysters for starters weren't huge, but they were very refined, with a magnificent flavor and exceptional freshness. The main courses were also perfect. The highlight was the dessert: a magnificent coconut sorbet, very rich and creamy, enhanced with a few other flavors and a touch of grated lime zest. Incredibly delicious! An excellent place to remember and absolutely recommend in Château-d'Oléron!

10/10/2026: We received a warm welcome, and our dog was accepted. The setting is ideal, right by the sea, and the cuisine is full of flavor, featuring local produce with a Caribbean touch. A great time! 👏

07/05/2026: Hello, I went to this establishment on Tuesday, May 5th, to have a drink on their beautiful terrace, but it was empty. I went into the restaurant to ask, and I was told that Mondays and Tuesdays were reserved exclusively for hotel guests, and for others, it was only from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM! I wonder how this very restrictive establishment operates!

27/04/2026: We ate at Albatros, on a friend's recommendation. Good atmosphere, very good food, friendly and attentive waiters. However, we waited over 40 minutes for our desserts, probably because they were defrosting... What a shame!

17/05/2026: In the heart of the small village of Siecq, you'll find the charming inn "Les Romarins". Delicious local cuisine, a pleasant setting, and above all, a warm welcome from Val and JF: don't hesitate to make the detour, you won't regret it!

05/06/2026: Very clean, friendly welcome, great location for walks with the dog. Lovely spa with a seawater pool! Excellent value for money. Only criticism: the internet was a bit slow. We had a pleasant stay!

11/08/2026: Had an awesome experience at the hotel. Service was extraordinarily good and rooms were comfortable, tidy and we'll equipped. The beach in front is not super interesting. A short walk will take you to a better one. Restaurant and pools also great. Breakfast buffet was diverse and tasty. Pools have some jets and jacuzzi. Surprisingly kid friendly. Restaurant chairs and pool robes even :)

16/10/2026: Appetizers served without amuse-bouches after we had to change our order due to a "blockade" on the mint delivery.... Main courses served lukewarm, lamb of poor quality with more fat than meat. Bread offered by the waiter never arrived at the table, surely another blockade. Not up to expectations for a rather high bill. The only positive point is the pleasant setting, unfortunately nothing like the cuisine one expects in this type of establishment. Avoid it!!

07/10/2026: Avoid at all costs!!! We went to this restaurant for a friend's birthday, what a mistake! We ordered one dish, and after ordering, they realized their order hadn't been fulfilled (it happens). So we ordered something else. We ordered a second round, which wasn't served until after the other dishes had arrived! The dishes that were served were cold, and I was left waiting for my dish, which had been forgotten when I ordered. I finally received it after my friends had finished eating...with the vegetables cold!! We were offered wine with my meal, which we refused. The waiters (and owners) got annoyed by our complaints! We had to insist before they would do anything about it. In short, they served us everything you'd expect from a low-class restaurant, even though the prices on the menu weren't low. A huge disappointment, what a shame!

25/09/2026: Very disappointed, the portions are really small. We ordered three fish fritters as a starter, which we thought was meant to accompany our aperitif 😏. As for the main course, it was good, but the fish was tiny and there were hardly any vegetables.

19/09/2026: L’Avocette — Royan Located at 100 Boulevard de Lattre de Tassigny in Royan, L’Avocette offers refined cuisine in a contemporary setting. The non-alcoholic "Pomme d’Api" cocktail is subtle yet pleasant. The confit chicken gizzard fritters were excellent, and the duck leg was tender, melt-in-your-mouth, and served with a flavorful sauce. For dessert, the "light chocolate, raspberry, and almond crunch" beautifully showcases its two main flavors. The dishes are presented with particular care. The Escapade menu offers good value for money. The staff is polite, friendly, and welcoming. The restaurant also boasts a large terrace, despite its location at a busy intersection. 30/08/2026: We stayed here for a week as a family of 4 with two teenagers, camping. The pitch was a good size but nite that I had picked one of the larger pitches based on the map - you can pre-book a pitch. Some of the other pitches were very small, and also very sandy which caused a number of vehicles to get stuck, needing to bebpullednout via tractor. There are limited toilets, creating queues during peak times. We visited the last week of August so the campsite was thinning out and don't cause us too much if an issue. The toilets could definitely be cleaned to a higher standard e.g. same bit of litter found in the toilets across multiple days. Not really 5 star standard. However toilets did have toilet paper and the showers were hot. Pool was very nice although main pool needed heating to a slightly higher temperature, or at least covered overnight to retain it's heat. The beach is nice, and walkable, but very rocky. Beware the pictures just showing the sand. . Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Bike hire onsite very good. I would not come back here to camp or take a mobile home. I'm sure the guests in the mobile homes and hotel have a better overall experience.

08/05/2026: We had a fantastic long weekend at Camping des Grenettes! The pitch, mobile home, nearby parking, mini-market, children's play area, and proximity to the beach were all perfect 👌 Just a minor drawback: the departure time and the slightly chilly heated outdoor pool!

16/10/2026: We were looking for simplicity and we stumbled upon this restaurant with charm in its building and above all quality products on the plate!

10/10/2026: Disastrous, a terrible crêperie with appalling service. You're better off buying a pack of crêpes at Leclerc... the cashier is friendly.

06/08/2026: We went as a family. There was a band playing to create an atmosphere, but unfortunately the music was so loud we couldn't talk to each other. The burger was cooked roughly; we ordered it rare and it was served very rare. The squid à la provençale with four new potatoes was rather small. The service was very good.

05/08/2026: We wanted to eat, but unfortunately we were asked to leave the table. Sad, the restaurant was empty.

The products were very good and the price was very reasonable. They were perfectly accommodating to my disability. Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the wonderful time I spent there.
