14/05/2026: Great for the fairgrounds and train station! Parking under the hotel and a brasserie with an excellent menu (additional cost). Very generous breakfast. Highly recommended.

17/07/2026: A cuisine with character, daily specials, a warm welcome, and service provided by the chef—we didn't expect to find a gourmet restaurant...a real gem. Almost impossible to get a table without a reservation; there were many regulars when we were there. Only local products are used.

14/07/2026: A wonderful romantic dinner on the terrace. The set menu features seven courses, which can be shared or enjoyed individually. The culinary standard is high, and the chef, who personally oversees the service, adds a personal touch that completes a rare and unexpected experience in the Chartreuse region.

10/05/2026: We had a great lunch here after a morning of moving house. They were friendly and welcoming even though it was nearly 2pm when we arrived it was not a problem for us to eat lunch. The burgers were excellent as was my plat du jour. Also the chips were delicious!! Service was very friendly and the proprietor is delightful. We will be going back!

19/04/2026: Back to "Le Mot Passant" and it was another wonderful experience. A warm and attentive welcome immediately puts you at ease. The atmosphere truly gives the impression of "leaving home," of escaping for the duration of a meal, which is particularly enjoyable in its unpretentious setting. As for the food, we opted for a Savoyard hamburger and an andouillette sausage: two generous, flavorful, and well-prepared dishes that reflect genuine expertise. In short, an address we wholeheartedly recommend for a pleasant time over a delicious meal.

02/07/2026: We were very disappointed during our visit on a Saturday evening. The welcome salad consisted of three wilted lettuce leaves, the brioche buns for the burgers were very dry (a known issue, according to the person taking our payment), the fries were mediocre, and the option to add another side dish was extra. On the other hand, the staff were very friendly and energetic. We had hoped the quality had improved, but no such luck. We won't be returning. Truly disappointing for a chain specializing in burgers and other seafood.

23/06/2026: The host is a good chef and a excellent gardener, the dinner was perfect. If he puts in the same effort he pours into his food and vegetable garden into the rest of the hotel it will be a legendary place! And they will both be very busy! Merci.

09/07/2026: This restaurant has become my go-to spot with the kids for a while now... the welcome is very friendly from everyone, the small kitchen manages to keep up with the 15 or so tables there... a pleasant little moment and they always have a little something extra for everyone, I highly recommend it (the portions are generous).

09/07/2026: A light meal enjoyed outdoors under the plane trees, offering a welcome respite from the heatwave. The salad was generous and of high quality. The service was respectful and attentive. This is one of the best outdoor spots, at a reasonable price, that offers everything you could want for a pleasant meal.

10/05/2026: A fantastic evening experience for two! We received a very warm welcome and the atmosphere was lovely. When we made the reservation, we were asked if we had any dietary restrictions. The menu was limited, with only six items, all seasonal. It was absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be back!

30/07/2026: We had a wonderful time with our son. Comfortably seated upstairs, the atmosphere was cozy and calm, but not ostentatious. Excellent, quick service. The portions were generous, delicious, and perfectly creamy… and don't even get me started on the homemade desserts! I absolutely melted over the raspberry and pistachio tart and couldn't resist the chocolate dessert of the day… I don't regret a single kilo that appeared on the scale this morning!! Go for it, this place is amazing!
