16/08/2026: The value for money was completely unsatisfactory. We came as a family for lunch on a Sunday. The set menus were €36 and €47, or we could order à la carte. The dishes weren't exceptional. I expect more from a €47 menu than just fries or potato gratin as a side. The food wasn't refined or flavorful. The desserts weren't great either. The only positive thing was the very pleasant welcome and service.

15/08/2026: A very good restaurant (specialty: the frog legs, which are excellent) with a mountain view, a nice change from the lake, even though it's very beautiful. Large dining room and lovely terrace. Friendly waiters and waitresses, as well as professional management.

05/08/2026: Excellent, top-notch service and beautiful decor! The only downside was that the after-dinner drink we ordered could have been complimentary. It's a shame because some other good restaurants do offer it, and we had a three-figure bill. I don't think they'd mind that much.

23/05/2026: Fantastic welcome! Fanny is absolutely lovely and very professional. I highly recommend this very peaceful place. I was so happy to stumble upon it by chance to charge my phone, which had died, and enjoy an excellent beer. Highly recommended!

29/04/2026: Superb location and excellent staff. Very nice and friendly atmosphere. As I finish every day here with a drink the waiters offered to drink Eau de Vie with me which was a very nice and friendly experience. Thank you, I will be back.

29/04/2026: We (a family with two older teenagers) had a delicious and extensive lunch here. We tried Kir here for the first time in two different flavors, which was a great success. As a nice surprise, we also received two local drinks on the house to try. Everything tasted absolutely delicious! Additionally, we would like to thank the staff very much for their genuine courtesy and warm hospitality; the excellent service completed our experience perfectly. Moreover, the price for such a beautiful, secluded location was exactly as expected. Highly recommended!

04/09/2026: Lunch was served one day. We were ushered downstairs by a group of workers to a small, rather dark and overheated room near the kitchens. Our first (unpleasant) surprise: no menu! We asked the waitress what they offered, and she told us: set menu (tomato salad, meatballs with rice and tomato sauce, and tiramisu), burger, pasta Bolognese, and Caesar salad. And that was it! Surprised, we asked if there was a menu, but there wasn't! No mention of starters or desserts, just the set menu and these three dishes. After having a drink, we placed our order. We asked the second waitress if she could remind us of the dishes, just in case. She said she didn't know, that it depended on what the first waitress had told us! Do they have different types of customers? With no other options, we went with the set menu, the salad, and the pasta. The salad and pasta portions were generous. The set menu starter consisted of just three thin slices of tomato, a little onion, and some Parmesan cheese. The meatball and rice dish was substantial, but rather bland. The coffee tiramisu was very good, the only positive aspect of the meal. When it came time to pay, we finally discovered the prices! €20 for the set menu, €21 for both the salad and the pasta. Oddly enough, as we were leaving, we saw customers with platters of charcuterie, something that wasn't offered to us! In short, if you're hoping for a Savoyard meal with a good selection, look elsewhere. Unless you're from Val d'Isère?

27/08/2026: Excellent restaurant, welcoming owner. Traditional cuisine and very good value for money. I highly recommend it. The best part is the beautiful flower-filled terrace and ample parking. We will be back.

28/08/2026: A very pleasant visit to L’Étape bar in Novalaise in the mid-afternoon, just before closing time, around 3 pm. I simply stopped by for a coffee and was warmly welcomed by two charming ladies, one of whom was behind the counter, particularly smiling and friendly—the owner, I believe. Even for a simple coffee break, the welcome and attention given to customers are truly delightful. A very positive first impression and a place that makes you want to return. I will gladly come back soon for lunch and to discover L’Étape’s cuisine. A wonderful discovery awaits! ☕️✨
