17/09/2024: I denounce......Employed in this hostel...still not paid....Months of November and December to date January 13, 2024, ended up paying my salary....if you can call it a salary ...they are dishonest....he drinks all day long....so drunk that he doesn't even realize that the staff are having sex...you owe me hours and a day in December ....they have the nerve to delete my review and send me a message offended by my comment. I am still waiting for my full salary to be paid. I will post opinions as much as I like....people like you must denounce them....next time I will talk about the accommodation...A+....disgusting accommodation upon my arrival..mouse 🐭 .... I lived with the windows open... housed with a cook who was high from morning until night... I'm still waiting for my full salary. ....

12/09/2024: What a disappointment and what a shame! We have been dining at the Auberge d'Oul for years but unfortunately, the new management is deplorable. From the nonchalance of the managers who seem to care more about themselves and their friends than the customers to the dirty glasses, the restaurant is in free fall. Regularly closed due to lack of supplies (in peak season!), you only have 3 dishes on the slate but there is always at least one missing and we offer you what is left. As for the prices, it borders on the ridiculous (€29 for a beef tartare - and it's not worth it - served with 3 tiny potatoes.) The wine is not at all the right temperature but we would have suspected it. It's a team of unserious amateurs who managed to turn a beautiful place into an uninteresting mess with unrelated prices. This will not last, that is obvious and that is desirable. In the meantime, run away!

03/08/2024: We took a break at lunchtime after getting off the bike park, my partner being allergic to celery, we had to ask the boss to make a Niçoise salad again and when I added the bill I discovered that the Mr charged us for the two salads. I find this anything but professional. The tourist is a real cash cow and I find that a shame.

15/08/2024: Nous avons réservé pour dîner avec des amis nous sommes arrivé en retard. Nous avons tout de même été très bien accueilli. Le personnel est très agréable, la cuisine est bonne. Nous avons été deux fois dans cet endroit et avons apprécié. Très bon rapport qualité prix.

07/06/2024: Back in December, I made the grave mistake of dining at La Joyeuse Fondue, a name that couldn’t be more misleading. Here I am, months later, still reeling from the horrendous experience. This place left such a bad taste in my mouth that I feel compelled to warn others about the culinary catastrophe that awaits them. From the moment I stepped inside, I was assaulted by a nauseating stench. Imagine the scent of old gym socks mixed with sour milk and despair. It was so overpowering that it nearly drove me back out the door, but my hope for a warm, comforting fondue experience convinced me to stay. Big mistake. The fondue, if you can even call it that, was a disgrace. It was watery, a bizarre neon yellow, and tasted like a blend of melted plastic and disappointment. The consistency was atrocious – instead of clinging to the bread, it ran off like water, leaving me with soggy, flavorless bites. It looked like someone had mixed school glue with yellow food coloring and decided to serve it as fondue. The taste was just as bad as the appearance. Bland, rubbery, and utterly devoid of any cheesy goodness, it was like eating a bad science experiment. Each bite was worse than the last, and it took every ounce of willpower to continue eating, hoping it might get better. Spoiler: it didn’t. The service was equally atrocious. Our waiter seemed to be in on the joke, treating our complaints with a dismissive shrug and an infuriating, “That’s just how our fondue is.” No apology, no offer to make it right – just pure indifference. It was as if he knew how bad the food was but couldn’t care less. The ambiance did nothing to help. The dim lighting couldn’t hide the grime and disrepair of the place. It felt like dining in a forgotten basement, adding to the overall feeling of neglect and disappointment. The only thing that lingered longer than our disgust was the awful smell that clung to our clothes, reminding us of the nightmare we’d endured. It’s now June, and I’m still haunted by the memory of that dreadful night at La Joyeuse Fondue. This place is a blight on the restaurant scene, a disgrace to fondue, and a cruel joke on anyone unfortunate enough to dine there. If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this place like the plague – your taste buds and your sense of smell will thank you.

From the moment the fondue pot arrived at our table, bubbling ominously like a witch's brew, I sensed doom. The aroma that wafted up was a noxious cloud—a potent mix of sour milk, burnt rubber, and what I can only describe as the scent of despair. My nose recoiled in self-defense, and I should have taken the hint to flee immediately. The cheese itself, if one could still call it that, had the consistency of coagulated sludge. It clung to the bread cubes like a death grip, refusing to let go as if it too wished to escape its grim fate. Each bite was a struggle against this viscous monstrosity, the cheese stretching in grotesque, sinewy strings that snapped back with the vigor of a malicious spirit. The taste—oh, the taste—was a cacophony of culinary abominations. Imagine a cocktail of expired dairy, fermented gym socks, and a hint of despair. It coated my tongue with a greasy film that no amount of water could cleanse. Every mouthful was a fresh assault, each worse than the last, until my taste buds staged a full-scale rebellion. To make matters worse, the accompaniments were as ghastly as the main attraction. The bread was stale, possibly sourced from the ruins of a forgotten civilisation. By the end of the night, I was left not only with a sense of profound regret but also a stomach churning with the fury of a thousand curdled nightmares. Le Joyeuse Fondue is not merely a bad dining experience; it is a portal to a gastronomic underworld from which few return unscathed. In summary, if you cherish your palate, your dignity, and your sanity, stay far, far away from Le Joyeuse Fondue. It's a descent into a cheese-infested abyss, and trust me—it's an experience better left untouched.

I'm going to go to the post office today to file a complaint, and come back this winter to sort it out! I'm going to warn all the restaurateurs in Valtho to finally take care of yourself.

19/09/2024: What can we say about the alchemist!!! 2 questions to ask yourself.... Would you like to go there in a very pretty setting with attentive staff, table service and an elegance and glitter worthy of a good restaurant. Or do you want what we ask of a restaurant to have personality, flavor, emotion in the dish....(Which I can afford for at least €45 per meal/head). We are absolutely not there, Burrata certainly very good accompanied by gazpacho...ok A fillet of uncooked sea bream...ok Cheese plate...ok... Don't get too excited. Well yes excellent no, way too expensive for the service. I can't dissuade you, but I certainly can't advise you

16/09/2024: I’m not going to talk only about the BRUNCH + SPA offer: Brunch was completely empty! There was nothing except olives and beets! A shame! I ask for bread, it is brought to me 20 minutes later... even no more water... Everyone complained, the staff was running around looking for solutions! The hot dishes were also empty even though we were there at 1:30 p.m.… Only take the SPA which was very good though! Living in Chambéry, I will not fail to provide great publicity for this catastrophic brunch!

21/08/2024: Found it on the way to the Cormet de Roseland, attracted by the outdoor area, I stopped, chose a tartare, very good, presentation with attention to the smallest details. 23/08/2024: Accueil assez mitigé . Le coca facturé 4,50 et servi au verre … sans le contenant initiale .(bouteille d’un litre et demi au frigo c’est moyen vu le prix facturé ) . La brochette asiatique trop salé , on suppose que c’est du bœuf mariné dans une sauce soja mais vraiment très/ trop salé . Et la crêpe beurre /sucre … salé aussi ( on a été 3 à Goûter ma crêpe car j’ai cru que cela venait peut être de moi ). Bref passez votre chemin si vous voulez un accueil chaleureux ( la patronne est peu souriante voir désagréable ) et vous régalez . Dommage car on a fait confiance à la bonne notation de ce restaurant . Il y a des établissements beaucoup plus sympa à côté ;)
