26/02/2026: The rooms are decent and fairly clean, but after four days we had to request housekeeping and fresh towels.
Breakfast is very repetitive: the same omelet, the same beans, the same sausages every morning. No vegetables. Instead, mostly pies and sweets—no croissants or pain au chocolat. The coffee is filter coffee, and you have to pay extra for "real" coffee. After three days, we decided to go into town.
Positive points: less than 1 km from the cable car and courteous service.

20/03/2026: We only had lunch there. Ideally located. A warm welcome, good food. Everything is there for a very pleasant and relaxing time, especially enjoying the sun on the terrace at the foot of the slopes.
14/03/2026: The fries and nuggets for the kids weren't properly breaded... And there was only one flavor of ice cream. The fondue portion was questionable (but then again, like most restaurants unfortunately), the bread was at least three days old, and the deli meats were of very dubious quality.
The meat in the wrap was good, but the wrap itself was completely unprepared and cold. Too meager for a proper meal.

27/02/2026: We have gone to Baraque so many times over the years, but tonight will be the last. The bald doorman is one of rudest most unpleasant people in the resort.
08/02/2026: Nice atmosphere, very tasty food. The oysters are delicious! The beer isn't great. The waiter (guy) is out of place. If he sees that someone doesn't know English, don't explain it in French; it's very annoying. Then he did me a favor and dismissively explained it in English. The waitresses are wonderful.

High altitude and difficult access = high prices.

15/02/2026: A mountain atmosphere we adore, a warm and welcoming meal, and a lovely owner. I'll definitely be back. In fact, that's all I ask for. Special mention to the two adorable little dogs.

07/02/2026: It wasn't possible to order a portion of fries without ordering a main course. Appetizers alone weren't available either. We ordered before the kitchen closed, and five minutes later we were told the kitchen had already closed, even though it was clearly before then.
We will definitely NOT be coming back!!!

05/03/2026: It's very good and excellent value for money, but you have to be prepared to appreciate the owner's "good" mood, which can put you off your food! It's a real shame, but the restaurant is full every lunchtime, so she doesn't care!
So that means: reservations are essential, and don't be easily offended!

02/02/2026: Unfortunately, I ate there several times for lunch and was very disappointed. A lot of pre-prepared, industrially produced food, a handful of defrosted vegetables, etc... And I won't even comment on the lady's friendliness...

The welcome is pleasant, but there's a certain pushy sales tactic, especially with a request for a tip before you've even had a chance to enjoy an aperitif on the terrace. This creates a mixed and somewhat unnatural impression right from the start.
29/03/2026: What a wonderful discovery! We had a truly delightful time, from the attentive service to the delicious food that everyone at the table enjoyed. We'll be back as soon as possible, even just for a delicious crêpe on the lovely terrace. Thank you for this wonderful family experience!

12/03/2026: I can't understand the negative reviews of this restaurant; the service is quick and the food is good. Having tried both restaurants at altitude in La Toussuire, this one is far better than the Carlines self-service restaurant.
