27/07/2026: I confess, I went there reluctantly. My husband loves going to Gill's. For me, the menu is boring. It's been the same since they opened! Beef tartare, salmon gravlax, duck, and calf's head... Let's go for the calf's head, which is rarely found in restaurants. I've had it before, and it was good. This time, I was served an unpresentable veal ratafia (see photo) that was barely fresh. The potato was reheated, and the veal stock sauce was tasteless. I would have preferred carefully cut pieces and a vinaigrette with gherkins for acidity. Clearly, the chef was also asleep at the wheel! However, the excellent glass of Burgundy made up for it. The desserts are good. My husband comes back time and again for the crème caramel, a guaranteed success, the best in all of western France! Special mention goes to the wait staff, who were very friendly and professional. They acknowledged the mistake and removed a calf's head from the bill. It was a nice touch, and such a gesture is rare enough to be worth noting.

11/08/2026: We had the pleasure of discovering duck à la Rouennaise… what can I say except that it was delicious! Everything was prepared right in front of us, a real spectacle. Special thanks to our master duck chef and his sense of humor… (a bit of a mechanic at heart 🤭). We had a wonderful evening. I highly recommend it!

07/07/2026: Hello, when you travel 90 km round trip to come to the Auberge des Ruines, it's because you know the quality of the food and you go there without hesitation... today was actually our fourth visit. The welcome and setting are always pleasant, the presentation of the dishes superb, however, several things disappointed us: Having booked for 12:30 pm, the sea bass, which was on the menu, was already sold out, and it was only 12:30 pm, while the number of diners already there was quite reasonable... too bad, we had to settle for... cod at the same price on the menu... When asked if we had any allergies, we mentioned that my wife, due to a medical condition, cannot tolerate any seeds (diverticulitis problem...). The result was a bread basket with seeds and, more importantly, the cod, beautifully presented but with seeds... it was changed without any problem, but still. Finally, the dessert: strawberries with ice cream. The ice cream was soggy and melting, and the cooked strawberries were also soggy... the whole thing tasted like it had been taken straight from the freezer... which I refuse to believe. What a shame! I could have said all this to the manager if he had come to see how our meal was, or simply to the young woman who took the bill if she had asked. But no one asked, so I'm putting my comments in writing. With regret.

20/07/2026: We stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant by chance. Although dogs aren't usually allowed inside, they welcomed our Labrador and immediately brought him a water bowl! The food was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful in explaining the dishes, as we couldn't translate everything. Absolutely recommended – a real hidden gem!

02/08/2026: A wonderful experience. Our first visit was recommended by our host. A lovely restaurant with old-fashioned decor. We were warmly welcomed despite not having a reservation and were able to get a table inside, as requested. We opted for the €38 set menu. Seafood platter for starters, catch of the day with chorizo ​​for the main course, and apple/Calvados sorbet for dessert for me. Sea bream carpaccio, sole, and profiteroles for my husband. All accompanied by a half-bottle of white wine. It was delicious. So much so that we returned the next day. The welcome was just as warm. Special mention to Damien, who always has a touch of humor and a quick wit. Definitely worth a visit for its excellent value.

02/08/2026: Ate skate with beurre noisette and mashed potatoes; very small piece of fish and mashed potatoes; Fish of the day with chorizo; here too, a very small portion. Drinks and food much too expensive for what you get. Waiters seem a bit rushed; everything has to go very fast.

09/08/2026: We had a very pleasant dinner on the terrace in early August. The mussels were delicious and plentiful! The service was friendly.

20/06/2026: For two people in Le Havre, we recommend this restaurant. Ah, here's a little place away from the hustle and bustle, not big but worth a visit. We ate there one Friday at lunchtime; octopus, among other things. After visiting the Hanging Gardens, we received a warm welcome on the phone, just like when we arrived, with a smile. So, definitely worth a visit.

I had the pleasure of dining there with my sister yesterday, and we both left absolutely delighted. Each dish is a true work of art, a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. From appetizer to dessert, it's flawless, a veritable explosion of flavors. You can immediately tell that the food is prepared with passion, using the freshest ingredients. The side dishes, herbs, spices, and seasonings combine to create a marriage of exquisite flavors, highlighting each ingredient without ever masking its character. The portions are generous and perfectly balanced: you leave feeling completely satisfied, without the slightest hint of heaviness. And what can I say about the owner? Welcoming, refined, and attentive, she infuses this establishment with an elegance and warmth that make the experience even more memorable. It gives the place a soul as delightful as its cuisine. An address that deserves to be at the very top of your list of best restaurants!

04/08/2026: Warm service, both to the (many) regulars and to passersby. The portions are generous. The menu is a bit limited, but that's a sign of quality! The meat is truly excellent, and the fries are homemade. My only slight disappointment was with the homemade custard. The frothy texture and subtle flavor didn't appeal to me.

03/08/2026: I'm going to eat the prawns and fries with my mom—they're amazing! And the fresh tuna tart is a real discovery. The waitress is such a sweetheart, so lovely. I love it!
