19/05/2026: A complete disaster. The scallops in the salad (which wasn't washed properly) were plasticky, the main courses were mediocre, and the desserts... well, they were awful. It was far too crowded. The owner was overwhelmed, and the young man assisting her was completely untrained, so the poor guy was floundering.
In short, we might have just had bad luck... it happens... but it was a real disaster!
15/05/2026: A very unpleasant and dangerous experience, as we found a large piece of glass in a buckwheat crepe. The other crepes weren't very tasty either. Hygiene and service are questionable.

13/05/2026: A few years ago, this was a truly wonderful place.
Today, it's clear they've lost their way and don't know how to retain their clientele.
There's no consistency in their menu.
I think they're completely off track with their culinary approach.
Go back to good, healthy, classic food.
It's a shame they don't restore the waterwheels.
11/05/2026: Excellent cuisine featuring local produce in a stunning garden and river setting.
Good wine selection, particularly Chablis.
A very good lunch.

12/10/2025: A great restaurant, where the food is good and where the owner is just great, welcoming and kind to his customers, professional. Go there, it's worth the detour, superb pizzas made in a wood-fired oven and a magnificent setting.

I would say the best pizza in Auxerre without any hesitation.

28/04/2026: It has to be said that this picturesque place, Vézelay, is a bit run-down. The state of the streets isn't great! Many of the houses and shops are unoccupied and in a state of disrepair! You can tell you're in the last century, the era of Vidocq or stagecoaches! I visited this little town during a trip to Auxerre, so I stopped in Vézelay, which had been a long-held plan. The basilica was under renovation at the time! I didn't visit the inn, so I can't comment on that.
20/04/2026: I didn't use the hotel's services, just the restaurant. I enjoyed the food (including the vegetarian options), however, two shortcomings in the service at our table concerned me. The staff remained courteous and apologized, but offered no compensation.

19/03/2026: Hello, I spent one night in this hotel and I would avoid it. The reception was friendly, but the room was appalling: completely unsanitary, with moldy windows, mildew, and other issues, stains on the carpet, a cracked bathroom ceiling, mediocre cleaning, and the bed linens weren't hypoallergenic. It was for a business trip, so one night is acceptable, but I find it expensive for what it is, considering the renovations they need to do.
09/03/2026: Overall, a good hotel.
The rooms are spacious (at least those on the 5th floor) thanks to the terrace, and the breakfasts are plentiful and varied.
However, if you're in room 500 like me, bring earplugs because the elevator machinery is right on the other side of the bathroom. Get ready for a lot of noise every time someone operates the elevator.

30/03/2026: I was quite surprised to walk into this bar and find a huge Confederate flag.
The "Texas" decor in a bar in Burgundy is one thing, but not the flag.
In case you didn't know, it's the flag of the Confederate States during the American Civil War, states that united the slave-owning, white supremacist South. We find it rather problematic to display that.
Otherwise, the service was fine.

16/09/2025: After an hour's drive without finding an open restaurant, we discovered this welcoming inn.
Little choice, but what's on offer is homemade and delicious.
Very fast service, as requested.
The village, typical of Burgundy, is worth a visit.

14/05/2026: Passing through Poland, I stopped for a pizza which was very good. The service was quick and the owner very welcoming. I recommend this establishment.
19/04/2026: The owner's wife is very pleasant, but the husband is not at all friendly.
The pizzas aren't what they used to be... now there's practically nothing on them, just a 4mm thick crust and topping.
That's it for me.
