The ambiance, history, and service are all top-notch; it doesn't get more authentic than this. Plus, it's a family business, which is lovely to see. The couscous is superbly prepared, the meats are cooked to perfection, everything is made with love, and that makes all the difference.

06/08/2026: Hello, I'm a regular customer of La Parenthèse. After my bike rides, I often like to stop there for a drink and a snack before heading home. So, this evening I was very surprised to find the brasserie closed, even though I had taken the precaution of checking the opening hours before going. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but when an establishment closes for an extended period without updating its hours online, it misleads customers and makes them make an unnecessary trip. It would be really important to update your hours while you're on vacation. If you can't provide service during your usual hours, an alternative solution, such as a vending machine offering drinks and snacks, could also be considered. After making the trip, I'm tired and hungry this evening, with the feeling that I've been misled. It's a real shame for an establishment I usually enjoy.

20/08/2026: We came as a family for a short stay in Paris. We discovered Le Pentagone, which was right next to our accommodation. We even went back just before leaving. The servers are friendly, the food is very good and plentiful, and the prices are fair. We highly recommend this place.

05/08/2026: Passing through Paris, I highly recommend this place. The service was top-notch, the staff were incredibly friendly. I came alone, and the waitress even held my glass for me while I went to the restroom. Truly, I have nothing but praise. Thank you for a wonderful time!

22/07/2026: A little disappointed, it had been a while since I'd been there... I arrived at a table on the terrace which wasn't clean from the day before, the terrace floor was dirty (a pressure washing would have been appreciated). I ordered a complete galette without salad, whereas everywhere, especially in Brittany, it's served with the galette. So I had to pay an extra €2.90 for a few salad leaves (that's still expensive 😉). There was only one strawberry jam... The galette itself was good quality. The staff were competent and pleasant.

07/08/2026: If you’re looking for a down to earth restaurant with good food, super casual setup, fair prices and a quiet atmosphere, this is the place. A hidden treasure! Nothing too elaborate or fancy, but a descent pizza experience with a pleasant atmosphere. The service is not pretentious like you see all the time in Paris but does a good job. Expect a Moderate risotto and pasta. Great place if you need to sit outside with you toddler without overstimulating them!

The staff is particularly friendly, and the service is simple, warm, and unpretentious. A real bonus: the option of gluten-free pizzas and pasta. A friendly place that I recommend without hesitation!

11/07/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We recently visited this French bistrot with a school group of 40 students and staff, and the experience exceeded all expectations. As is often necessary with large groups, we selected one main dish in advance from a limited menu. However, this was absolutely not a compromise on quality. The food was exceptional—freshly prepared on the day, beautifully cooked, and full of flavour. What impressed us most was the reaction of our students. British students can often be quite fussy when travelling, and it is not uncommon for many of them to leave school-trip evening meals untouched. On this occasion, every single student ate everything on their plate and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. In fact, several members of staff commented that they had never seen students eat so well on a school trip before, and neither had they! The bistrot also catered brilliantly for a range of dietary requirements, ensuring that all students and staff were able to enjoy their meals without any issues. Despite serving a group of 40, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and highly organised throughout. We are incredibly grateful for the warm hospitality and outstanding food. We would have no hesitation in recommending this bistrot to other school groups and look forward to returning in the future. Merci beaucoup! 🇫🇷🍽️✨
