Reasonable prices without being excessive, and the owner, who wears many hats, is incredibly friendly! Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys taking the time to savor a meal rather than rushing through it. We will be back!

25/02/2026: A truly lovely place! After a disappointing and overpriced experience at the Center Parcs restaurant, we were looking for a restaurant in Casteljaloux. We stumbled upon this charming restaurant. The welcome and service were top-notch, and the food was a real treat—finally, something homemade! 🙂 And the bill was very reasonable. I wish you many more customers. We'll definitely keep your address.

17/01/2026: We visited Restaurant L'Essentie last night with our good friends and neighbours Francois and Valerie to belatedly celebrate the New Year. At the end of the festive season he might think one celebration too many, but Pauline and her husband who is the chef never disappoint and served up a truly fantastic dinner to start 2026. Salmon en croute with mushrooms and Cavalo Nero cooked with incredible imagination and to finish pears poached in red wine with cream and toasted hazelnuts fantastic. Definitely the best restaurant around, if you’re looking for a quiet intimate place to enjoy master cooking we’re friends and family.

18/03/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant on a friend's recommendation. I'd taken the time to check the Google reviews, and we weren't disappointed. Moreover, observing the other tables, it was the same story; everyone was satisfied. Perhaps not for every budget, but definitely worth a visit, and we'll be back =). A few words to describe my experience: quality of the dishes, freshness, and the pleasure of eating seafood. However, some regulars told us that you need to make a reservation and arrive on time, otherwise, like us, you might find certain items unavailable (lobster, for example).

15/02/2026: First experience at a Michelin-starred restaurant for Valentine's Day dinner. We had a wonderful time, filled with culinary discoveries and delightful flavor combinations. Each dish evoked emotion, perfectly complemented by exquisitely chosen wines. The atmosphere is intimate. A warm and welcoming atmosphere with staff who know their ingredients and how to showcase them beautifully. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

Our guests were delighted by both the delicious food prepared by Amandine and Miguel and their warm and welcoming atmosphere. We wholeheartedly recommend this delightful establishment in every way. You feel right at home and can chat with the waitress, who creates a friendly and welcoming environment. A very pleasant conversation with the chef-owner was also a lovely one.
