09/03/2026: This is the first time I've been disappointed by this restaurant. I went one evening with my children. The buffets were almost empty, and the food didn't look fresh at all. It's a shame. There are fewer and fewer cafeterias these days, but I can understand why.

14/08/2026: Horrible, disgusting 🤮 Avoid at all costs! The fries are frozen solid. I didn't order ice cream with fries, and they serve us spoiled food, treating us like Dobermans! Run away!!!

24/07/2026: Of course, we don't go to a pizzeria to eat fries, but since they're on the menu, we might as well take advantage! But what a disaster!! Small portion, really small, and not even cooked! We might as well have eaten the potatoes raw.

21/05/2026: Hello, we left the highway to eat nearby and support local businesses. We stopped at a restaurant. Did we just catch them on a bad day? We ordered crudités, fish and chips for two, and fruit salad. The crudités included grated carrots that looked like they hadn't been grated that day. The fish was swimming in oil, as if it had been soaking in a bath. The so-called homemade fries were okay, but we could definitely tell they had been recooked. And the fruit salad was inedible. I pointed out when paying that the fruit salad had gone bad, but there was no compensation. I must admit I was very disappointed because you have a good rating, and generally, when a restaurant has a good rating, you're rarely disappointed. I hope this was just a minor slip-up that day... 20/05/2026: The room overlooks the main road, so there are two options: close the windows (it's manageable but very hot) or leave them open and then you'll be bombarded by passing trucks at night. And above all, the bathroom is tiny and the toilet is, to say the least, not very clean.

17/08/2026: I stumbled upon this little shop, Great Wall, on my way to the train station. The Chinese-French owner was somewhat like the owner of the Japanese drama "Midnight Diner." She confidently declared, "If it's not on the menu, and you want any authentic Chinese food, as long as there are seasonal ingredients, I can make it." And sure enough, beyond the menu, I found some truly home-style braised eggplant and diced chicken in Saumur—so delicious! I was so engrossed in the meal that I forgot to take pictures. The stir-fried beef was also excellent; I did take a picture of that. During our chat, the owner recounted her many years living in France, expressing her deep emotions. In early 2020, she and her husband were visiting relatives in Wuhan. At a critical moment, the French government sent a special plane and a young, handsome military medical team to bring back all the expatriates, including the couple. Upon arrival in Paris, the Prime Minister greeted them at the airport, police escorted them, and a convoy of buses took them directly to a very nice resort for quarantine and observation. All their food, lodging, and medical care were free. Upon completion of the two-week program, special buses were arranged to pick up the overseas Chinese from their respective hometowns and take them back home. The Prime Minister also visited the resort again to see them off. Upon returning to her hometown of Saumur, neighbors immediately came to inquire about her well-being and offer assistance. This is why she and her husband have always deeply loved Saumur and run their business there.

06/08/2026: Excellent restaurant, highly recommended! Besides the delicious, generous meal for a reasonable price, the owner was incredibly sweet and kind. She even showed us how they make Jiaozi!

02/08/2026: Always a very warm welcome and excellent service, located on the main square in the center of Angers, boasting a superb terrace and a very affordable menu, I highly recommend it.

29/07/2026: This little restaurant is lovely and reminds me of my grandmother. The welcome and service were impeccable, the buffet was really good and beautifully presented. The lunch menu was reasonably priced.

12/07/2026: It's a small bar next to the station that's open on Sundays. You can have a coffee or something to eat when everything else is closed. The owner was very nice. Good prices.

08/04/2026: Having come to kill time before my train, naively hoping for a comforting sandwich, I headed for the nearest option… strategic error. To play it safe, I opted for a classic: roast chicken, mayonnaise, salad, tomato, egg. On paper, it was hard to go wrong. First surprise: hygiene standards here seemed to be a purely abstract concept. The same dishcloth was clearly used for everything: plates, work surfaces, and probably soon, customers if necessary. Finally, the long-awaited moment arrived: the tasting. And then, plot twist—the chicken wasn't “roasted,” but clearly still pondering its cooking. Pink, raw, almost ready to return to the barnyard. A truly vibrant culinary experience. And to top it all off, a detour to the restrooms, which perfectly extended the experience: a total immersion in filth. In short: a culinary and sanitary journey I could have gladly done without. Avoid it, unless you like surprises and taking risks.

30/06/2026: I waited on the terrace for over half an hour without a waiter coming to ask me what I wanted. And yet there were hardly any people there. Absolutely no customer service!

07/08/2026: A difficult experience, an unfriendly welcome, we were refused a seat inside even though all the tables were empty. Our child seemed to be inconvenienced as there was no seating provided for a 3-year-old, no smaller portions available, and no children's menu. (I didn't demand anything at all; I even offered to leave because my daughter, indeed, wouldn't be able to eat an adult's portion at her age.) There was no cook, and the food seemed to have been microwaved. The quality was poor. Around us, we saw people who wanted to eat being rudely turned away. An awkward situation. Prices far too high. We obviously do not recommend this place. We were misled by previous reviews (change of ownership).

11/07/2026: A pleasant restaurant on Rue Saint-Jean. It's not fine dining, but it's a comfortable place. The waitresses are very friendly and do their best to minimize the wait time. And the setting is great.

17/08/2026: Order placed online at 7 pm, delivered 25 minutes later, with piping hot pizzas (and generously topped, see previous review). A nice touch from the delivery driver (sorry, I forgot his name - Amadi?) he came upstairs, seeing that we were a bit stuck! A big thank you to him!

15/07/2026: There were two of us who ordered, a margarita and a pepperoni party. For my ex, this time it wasn't "thanks for the roses and thanks for the thorns," but rather "thanks for the margarita and thanks for the poop." And for me, "thanks for the pepperoni and thanks for the vomit." Anyway, we won't be ordering from here again; now we have a Smecta debt to repay.
