12/05/2026: We had booked a table for 8 pm and I wanted to introduce my friends to this restaurant. The waiter was very friendly and answered all our questions professionally. The place is charming, with a great atmosphere, and the service was quick. The dishes and desserts were delicious. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation, and in the end, my friends also thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

30/04/2026: The food wasn't great (the sundried tomatoes in my steak tartare turned fresh again...), the waiter treated you like a friend... well, you can find better elsewhere.

17/05/2026: Very nice hotel. We had a large clean room, one of 2 on ground floor near parking, excellent for a person w mobility issue. Large parking. Quiet. Pleasant staff, very good restaurant (one menu for the day). Good breakfast. Recommended.

23/04/2026: The Lion d’Or is a particularly well-maintained hotel where you immediately feel at ease. The rooms and common areas are bright and well-kept. A very comfortable stay is guaranteed. The welcome is warm and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Just a 10-minute walk away, you'll find a lovely park with a discovery trail showcasing the region's trees: a wonderful opportunity for a stroll while learning something new!

11/06/2026: Just grateful there was somewhere actually open on a wet Thursday night in June. Food was ok and reasonably priced. Had the burger and Duck. Nothing special but we had been spoiled in Pont Aven last week at Le Promenade. Probably wouldn't go again but it wasn't a disaster and as I said finding somewhere open around here is rare.

03/05/2026: I rarely leave negative reviews, but in this case, I feel it's important to share our unpleasant experience at this restaurant. We had lunch there today. After waiting an hour for our food, we were very disappointed with our choices. The chef's suggestion, the "seafood stew," was reduced to fish crumbs on a bland purée. The burger was unremarkable, and we shared a single individual bun cut into four pieces for the whole table. We didn't even bother with dessert; it wasn't worth the effort. A ruined family meal.

The view from the terrace of the Basilique Saint-Gervais d’Avranches is breathtaking. The menu on the tablet (in multiple languages) is clear and easy to use. This restaurant is highly recommended!!

12/06/2026: The waiter was unfriendly and didn't appreciate us asking if it was possible to turn down the music (the speaker was right next to us). He responded sarcastically and rudely. The food was a huge disappointment. Edible but unremarkable, the meat was tasteless despite the attractive presentation, and the overall taste was disappointing. We asked for mustard, and the response was, "I'll ask the chef." We spoke to his colleague five minutes later, and she simply held out her arm to give it to us. In reality, the mustard was just sitting on a side table a meter away. We couldn't understand why he hadn't given it to us. Clearly, he wasn't interested in helping us; every interaction with him was unpleasant. We chose this place because the reviews were generally quite good. What a disappointment! As we were leaving, having not ordered dessert because we were too disappointed, he criticized the person who took payment for not having greeted him, and called us retirees (one of the guests was pregnant!). He noticed that we were clearly dissatisfied and said he didn't understand why, since he supposedly had "a good clientele," and we would have preferred his dishes to reflect that. This gentleman ruined our evening. His haughty, smug, and sarcastic attitude made us flee without the slightest desire to say goodbye or offer any explanation.
