18/08/2026: Nice bar with good products. The patio is a nice bonus. The only downside is the waiter who acts like a gangster in the kitchen behind his counter in the left-hand room. He doesn't know his products, uses a condescending tone, and is arrogant.

24/09/2026: The meal was excellent, the calf's head with gribiche sauce was superb. For dessert, the caramel waffle was a real treat. I highly recommend it.

22/09/2026: This restaurant appeared in the middle of nowhere during a bike tour. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, and it felt like something from another era. Besides us, there were only French people there.

02/09/2026: A very busy place, outside particularly. Wonderful food, we had Fritto Misto to start and Moules to follow. The Moules à la Normande was truly delicious and large. I can't fault the service, definitely on French time, because of the number of diners. Very good value for money. I would certainly return. PS The menu de jour looked lovely too. Thanks to all the staff, especially for their patience, as I was trying desperately to get back into speaking french on my first day back in France.

05/09/2026: To be clear, the 1 star is awarded for the friendly and pleasant service. The food was below par. We had ordered turbot and ray wing. These are not the most difficult fish to prepare, but that was without counting on the chef's 'creativity'. The turbot was completely dried out with a sauce that was supposed to resemble a white butter sauce, garnished with a dark substance that made the whole thing tasteless and unrecognizable. The ray wing came with a thick, greasy cream sauce. The plates were dressed identically with a dried-out 'salad' of something unrecognizable. Clearly, the plates had been sitting there for hours, with a tasteless dollop of purée—of celeriac (?)—and a mushroom filled with some kind of cream cheese. Disgusting! What in God's name has happened to the 'craft'? Why does a chef feel the need to reinvent the classics of French cuisine instead of following standard recipes? Turbot simply fried in farm butter? Skate wings with a butter/caper sauce with a little lemon. What is so difficult about that?? Sorry to the service team, it is not their fault that an incompetent cook, and therefore an incompetent boss, runs the place. We even left a tip for the friendly people in the dining area. Please find another restaurant so you can get a bit more credit for your work.

31/08/2026: A lovely spot near the port of Carteret, nestled along the coastal road. From appetizer to dessert, the quality is consistently excellent. The wine list offers ample options for pairings. Book in advance during peak season if you'd like a table by the windows or fireplace. Highly recommended. Sandra and Yves

26/08/2026: I'm Italian and I was there in August 2026. The food was excellent, both meat and fish. The oysters are superior, truly excellent, and at prices you'd only dream of in Italy. The desserts were amazing. A slight criticism was that the service was a bit too long, which I believe was due to insufficient staff compared to the potential seating. Good value for money.

10/05/2026: I had an absolutely perfect stay at the Hotel Les Fuschias in Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue. From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home thanks to the exceptionally warm and attentive welcome from the hosts. I loved the hotel's authentic charm, its refined and intimate atmosphere, and the peaceful rooms, which allowed for true relaxation. The excellent bedding contributed greatly to the quality of my stay. Breakfast was delicious, featuring excellent local products, and served in a beautifully decorated room. I was also struck by the beauty of the garden, a true haven of peace and serenity. The location is ideal, right next to the restaurants and shops of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, making it easy to get around on foot. I sincerely wish I could have stayed longer, as the atmosphere of the place is so pleasant. A truly wonderful place to stay, and I will gladly return.

04/09/2026: The welcome was very friendly. The place was quiet and nicely decorated. However, my salted caramel crepe was small and paper-thin, cold, and dried out, with just a very thin drizzle of caramel syrup on top... For €5.50, one would expect a decent crepe, it seems to me (?). The coffee was good. In short, €7.50 for that: frankly, that's a bit much!

18/08/2026: As regulars who come to Gouville for a breath of fresh air, we particularly appreciate this little restaurant. It has everything: a warm welcome from everyone, excellent food from the main courses to the galettes (we tried them all), a peaceful atmosphere, and a lovely setting. We highly recommend it. It's a great find! 😀👍

From the menu, I chose the broad bean salad and the skate wing with spinach. It was simply DELICIOUS! Kudos to the chef. The spinach was perfectly cooked. The portion was more than enough for me. A great place in Beaumont 🙂 Reservations recommended!

16/10/2026: The ribeye steak with pepper sauce was cooked well as requested, but the sauce was too spicy for my taste, but the rest was okay.

15/10/2026: We were caught off guard because the menu we saw online was no longer the same as the one in the restaurant. Being vegetarians, we were left with only one option. The staff was very pleasant and offered to adapt some of the dishes for us. Thank you again! 🙂 I've attached photos of the menu to this review for future reference. 😉

16/10/2026: The meals were carefully prepared by the owners in the kitchen, the homemade desserts were excellent, as was everything else. Go without hesitation. Unbeatable value for money.
