05/08/2026: Family owned restaurant with really good food! The rice and noodles were tasty and authentic, and the pizza was superb. The wine and beer selection was exquisite and sophisticated. There’s even sake! They’re really detailed orientated because I see that they also serve a fine selection of Postcard Teas from London, which is really amazing. Highly recommend!

05/08/2026: Really kind hosts; accommodating to special requests and overall a very pleasant surprise of Vietnamese fare with extremely competent pizzas on a thin crust. Super extensive wine/champagne list and make sure to try their beers from a local brewery too!

22/11/2025: I've ordered several times since the new owner took over, and the food is still just as delicious, whether you order takeout or eat in. The wait time was practically nonexistent on my last takeout order!

12/08/2026: For a truly authentic French dining experience, this restaurant is really good. The food is simple (a bit low in salt), but tasty. Nothing particularly special, though. The service is friendly. We were seated right by the street, which can be a little noisy, but it wasn't a problem.

05/08/2026: This isn't our first time here. We're used to eating here as a family. But this lunchtime we were very disappointed. There were very few hot items, apart from the fried food, and it didn't taste the same as usual. The fried rice was dry and formed large clumps. The cleanliness leaves much to be desired. We were seated at a table covered in large cobwebs. Our son's plastic cup was dirty inside and out, as was the carafe. The high chair our son was in was very dangerous, held together with tape. However, when we took him out, the chair came apart right where the tape had been. There weren't many people serving us, and no plates were cleared away. It wasn't practical to eat with a pile of plates in front of us. In short, we were disappointed.

05/08/2026: Disappointed is the first word that comes to mind. We're used to coming here, but today the service was deplorable. Our plates were never cleared from a table for two, so I had to fend for myself to eat as best I could because there was practically no room at the table. I came with my one-year-old son, and the first high chair they gave me wasn't at all the right size for him. I had to get another one, but it was held together with tape. Hygiene was lacking; there were cobwebs everywhere, and the food had a bitter taste. The beef with onions wasn't good at all compared to usual, and the fried rice was the same. I don't know if the dishes were fresh, but they were really bad. I won't be back!

05/06/2026: Decided on a change of venue for my overnight stay on the way down France and found this and was well worth the effort of searching! Will start with the food, I had the room and menu option which was unbelievable value! £132.00 for the room, 3 course dinner (with a supplement on the starter), glass of champagne and 2 glasses of very good wine and then breakfast in the morning! The food is excellent, well cooked, well presented and as delicious as I hoped it would be. The other menu option is a reasonable €40 had an impressive selection of options too. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive and the chef came to chat to the customers at the end of the evening. The room was simple, but everything you need (the fan was a bit noisy but OK, there are only sachets of shower gel/shampoo so remember your own toiletries) but very clean with lovely wooden floors and a comfortable bed. Check in if the restaurant is not open is easy and hassle free. I managed to park directly opposite FOC and there is ample parking round the corner also FOC. All in all a hearty recommendation and is a short walk from the centre of Chalon if you would like a post dinner stroll (and is definitely worth the stroll from the centre of town, so reserve a table now!)

14/04/2026: Excellent welcome, generous and well-prepared home-style cooking, and a varied and high-quality wine list. It's hard to find establishments like this anymore, with a truly family-run, unpretentious atmosphere and honest cuisine.

18/06/2026: The waitress knows nothing about tea, the prices are excessive for such mediocre quality... Another attempt, 6 years later: 3 ice creams, 3 drinks, €40... The waitress, whom we asked to get her act together, was unfriendly. I sympathize; there's no air conditioning on the terrace...

15/05/2026: Terrible experience – Offer not honored and endless wait I came with my basketball ticket to take advantage of the "Free Big Mac with the purchase of a Maxi Best Of meal" offer. After ordering at the kiosk, they refused the offer, claiming I had to pay at the counter (this information was absolutely not indicated on the coupon). I was asked to wait while they spoke to the manager. The result: a 40-minute wait without anyone ever contacting me. A complete disregard for the customer. I left without my product and very unhappy with the service. Avoid this place if you're counting on their customer service.

20/08/2026: My wife, two children and I visited here for lunch. We had a great experience. The owners and staff were very relaxed and friendly, they made us feel at home. They offered board games and toys to the kids and gave them a little something to take home, the kids were delighted. The decor was charming, the prices were very reasonable which for the food served is the reason for the 5 stars. Rustic perfection. I hope to pop by on the way back to the UK

11/08/2026: My husband and I discovered Les Années Folles this evening and had a wonderful time! 😍 The portions are very generous and delicious, with a wide selection that truly ensures there's something for everyone. The €32 set menu is, in our opinion, excellent value for money. We also absolutely loved the atmosphere—warm, friendly, and just like home! 🥰 You immediately feel at ease in this simple and pleasant setting. A truly wonderful discovery; we'll definitely be back! ❤️
