29/08/2026: The welcome from the owner is warm and pleasant. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience doesn't quite live up to the same standard. The service is clearly lacking in fluidity and professionalism for an establishment that positions itself as fine dining: dishes arrive while drinks still need to be requested, sometimes without even having glasses on the table. Taken individually, these are minor details, but at this price point and level of prestige, their accumulation ultimately detracts from the experience. On the plate, the presentation is meticulous and visually appealing. The food is good, sometimes even very good, but it lacks the surprise, the boldness, or the emotional impact one expects from a restaurant of this caliber. You leave satisfied, but without a true "wow" factor. The setting, on the other hand, is a real success: beautiful decor, a pleasant dining room, and ample space between tables to comfortably enjoy the meal. Ultimately, this is an establishment with considerable merit and potential, but the price-to-performance ratio seems difficult to justify at this point. At this price point, one expects much more refined service and cuisine with greater personality and flair.

02/08/2026: We came without a reservation on a Saturday lunchtime and we're very lucky to get a table. The food was exceptional - easily the best salmon I have ever eaten. Service was seamless and elegant. I would thoroughly recommend for a reasonably priced fine dining experience without any compromise on flavour or atmospehere!

12/08/2026: A unique experience, beautiful restaurant both inside and out, but a disastrous welcome, unfriendly and with a menu different from those listed on their website (the €27 menu was missing), so we left immediately.

22/08/2026: The food was perfect! The pizzas were really delicious. The Quattro Formaggi had slightly too little gorgonzola for my taste, so I asked the male waiter for some extra. He then brought it to me nicely. Very happy with this service! Highly recommended if you are in Reims.

02/09/2026: Nice venue, good concept. But as other reviews mentioned, the service is terrible. We asked for water, but none was provided. The staff member was on the phone in the shop for quite a while, not once came around to see how we were going, only explained the basics about the wine. The other staff member was simply on the laptop on the high table. With the right staff, this would be a great experience.

22/08/2026: Good selection of champagnes. However we were asked to leave as they were closing at 1pm for an hour. Should have been told in advance as we had to rush to finish our drinks.

24/07/2026: I highly recommend this restaurant. Starter, main course, cheese, dessert: €31.50 You'll eat ten times better here than at some restaurants that charge more while offering subpar service. From the service to the food, everything was excellent. I would gladly return!

06/08/2026: Absolutely perfect! The waitress was lovely, the granola was the best I've ever had, the chocolate was delicious, and the savory snacks were very good! The music and atmosphere were great!

05/07/2026: A place worth a visit for coffee or brunch, in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We were won over by the drinks and the flavorful, elaborate dishes (all homemade...). Highly recommended! PS: The bun and granola are to die for 🫠

10/05/2026: It is a very beautiful property. And it seems like something out of a fairytale. There is just that if you book early (which we didn’t) our room would have been around 400€ with additional 28€ per person breakfast. And for that the service was very bad. They are friendly. But you get pad coffee at breakfast, the champagne at breakfast isn’t good either. The room didn’t have any way to make it completely dark, so our toddler woke with the sun at 6 in the morning. The grass wasn’t cut, the play area was old and rusty and very very dirty. For the positive things, the bed was comfortable, the view was outstanding and the room and the bathroom was very clean. The little chocolate on the bed was very tasty as well. And the restaurants where you have to eat, because there is nowhere else to go are very bad and overpriced. So overall not worth it. But our toddler enjoyed staying in a princess room.

05/08/2026: Very disappointing! The terrace doesn't overlook the Marne River, but the parking lot. The portions were very small, several meat dishes were overcooked, some vegetable flans were cold (while others were lukewarm), and to top it all off, our table was forgotten, resulting in very slow service. We had hoped for a friendly and festive atmosphere at Le Bateau Lavoir, but we left extremely frustrated!
