If it's your first time, get a simple one; avoid the ones with soy sauce broth. Otherwise, if you want to try something new, there are several options.

17/06/2026: Excellent! I always order from there with my family because I live right next door and I've never been disappointed! The sushi is excellent, served in 15-20 minutes max. It's not even that expensive because compared to other sushi places in the same neighborhood where a plate of 12 sushi is €18, here it's €15-16. They're currently having phone problems; I hope it gets resolved quickly, but order on Uber Eats, I swear you won't be disappointed! 🥹

10/06/2026: The waitress wasn't friendly, she forgot to give me the wasabi, and when I asked for more ginger, they just served standard portions. There wasn't much sushi flavor. I didn't recommend it.

01/06/2026: ⭐ Overall rating: 7.5/10 A great find! This African restaurant in Lyon was a wonderful discovery. I had a lovely time and, most importantly, a delicious meal. The portions were generous, flavorful, and carefully prepared. Special mention goes to the chicken: perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, and, most importantly, not dry, which is often a weak point in this type of dish. The side dishes were also excellent, with well-balanced flavors. A minor drawback was the sweet potato fries, which were unavailable during my visit. Apparently, they had been out of stock for several days. This is a bit of a shame, as they are often a popular side dish, and sweet potatoes are generally quite easy to find. As for the ambiance, the terrace is perfect for enjoying the nice weather, which is very pleasant. However, it has limited seating and opens directly onto the street. Inside, the space is adequate, but it was quite warm during my visit, with noticeable cooking smells. Air conditioning or better ventilation would significantly improve customer comfort. The service also deserves a mention. The woman single-handedly manages the kitchen, reception, service, and payments. Despite this heavy workload, she remains cheerful and does her best to satisfy customers. This can sometimes lead to a slight wait, but it's understandable. My ratings: * Reception: 8/10 * Food: 8/10 * Value for money: 8/10 * Cleanliness: 7/10 * Atmosphere and comfort: 7/10 In short, this is a place worth discovering for the quality of its cuisine and its authentic flavors. 30/05/2026: We just left this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, everything was perfectly cooked, and the service was quick. For dessert, we had degué… It was also very good! Honestly, a great place, we'll definitely be back next time we're in Lyon. Thank you for everything! ☺️🙏

The place is pleasant, ideal for relaxing or enjoying a quiet meal. A few minor details could be improved, but overall it's a good place that I recommend 👍

30/06/2026: A romantic evening for two. No reservations needed. Worth trying at least once. Lots of takeout orders. Drinks inside, not many people. Relaxing atmosphere. The quality of some dishes was a little lacking in my opinion (admittedly, I'm quite picky), but nothing too bad. Everyone will find something to enjoy from the well-balanced menu and have a very pleasant time. Good value for money.

Completely understaffed, one overwhelmed waiter for the entire dining room. The kitchen is taking it easy meanwhile. Way too hot inside. The food was okay, nothing special. We just wanted to leave...

13/09/2025: Unfortunately, Contre-Champ is not what it used to be. The chef has changed, and the experience is nothing like what you’ll see on Google or in older reviews. The food was disappointing, far below expectations, and the overall quality has dropped dramatically. To make matters worse, the poor waiter had to manage 11 tables completely on his own — service was understandably slow and chaotic, and it was painful to watch him struggle. What used to be a great place has become a real letdown. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal.
