Saint-Jean-Du-Falga
17/02/2026: Disappointed 😞 because we were going to spend a Valentine's Day night until 10pm but due to poor communication on their part they closed at 8pm and we had arrived at 7:50pm, what a shame.
27/01/2026: The team is amazing! Whether the owner is there or not, they're always in a good mood and very respectful of the customers... We always have a great time! I absolutely disagree with a comment left a few days ago expressing frustration and a lack of respect for how the place operates.
Keep up the good work, don't change a thing, you're fantastic!

Nuit de Shangai
Ax-Les-Thermes
20/04/2026: I'm giving it 5 stars to be above the reviews. But otherwise, avoid it! It's too expensive, the portions are too small, and on top of that, it's all frozen food. Seriously, €3 for an iced tea, €25 for a set menu that's the size of a small starter. Seriously, avoid it!
14/03/2026: Excellent experience, quality service, and excellent food! I highly recommend it.

24/04/2026: Great atmosphere, pleasant waiter and quality pizza
14/04/2026: The wood-fired vegetables were absolutely delicious, and the duck breast skewer was excellent. We ate there two days in a row. The staff were attentive, and the waitresses were very friendly. It's clear that everyone is attentive to the customers. I highly recommend this restaurant; it's worth the trip. Well done!

Le Komo
Ax-Les-Thermes
30/03/2026: We entered the establishment; there were four of us. When we asked for a free table among the many available, the person asked if we were going to eat. I said yes, and immediately afterward, they looked me up and down and said, "Are you sure?" with a horrible look, giving me a bad feeling. We sat down to eat, and the service was a disaster. We waited a long time for the food, and for the price, there are places across the street that are much better. If we return to these slopes, we are sure we will not go to this establishment.
15/03/2026: Great restaurant, the atmosphere and the servers are super friendly! And the food is amazing!

L'Imperial

11/04/2026: Excellent restaurant, great welcome, prices, setting, all superb. Come one, come all.
15/03/2026: I don't think anything is homemade; it's either reheated canned or frozen food that we could easily make at home. This explains the menu with its huge selection and, above all, the very fast service! The shrimp and lemongrass salad was pleasant, but unfortunately, there was no lemongrass! As for the ginger duck, which is supposed to be spicy, the duck slices were swimming in a very syrupy orange sauce, the duck skin had a very strange red color, and apart from a few ginger "spikes," I tasted neither ginger nor spiciness. The vegetables consisted of a lot of mung bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, onions, a little bell pepper, carrot, and a piece of broccoli. I won't be back.

02/04/2026: A very pleasant surprise, idyllic setting on the banks of the Hers, warm welcome, delicious meal with regional products and all homemade, parking and all payment methods accepted, I highly recommend if you are passing through.
11/01/2026: An inn that perfectly embodies what one expects from this type of establishment.
The food is good, flavorful, generous, and unpretentious.

Casa Mauricio
Ax-Les-Thermes
12/05/2026: Run away! The restaurant smells as disgusting as the food. The cuttlefish wasn't fresh and stank, and the duck heart was served raw—yuck! The waitress told us the cook ate the leftover dishes. Bon appétit! In my opinion, he should have ended up in the emergency room, where he's considered a wild boar. Avoid at all costs!
09/05/2026: A superb experience, both in terms of the food and the atmosphere.
We highly recommend this fantastic restaurant and will definitely be back!

Le P' Tit Montagnard
Ax-Les-Thermes
09/04/2026: Well-located restaurant, very good value for money, succulent flank steak and delicious desserts. Only my dish was too salty (guinea fowl in crayfish sauce). Service OK, a good place to eat. (We don't know about the hotel)
04/04/2026: We received a very warm welcome and the staff were very professional.
The hotel is very clean, and we appreciated the half-board option with its generous meals and breakfast, which were pleasantly served by both the owner and the waitress.

The owner was attentive and very friendly.
We highly recommend this place.
26/04/2026: Due to an error on our part two days before the start of our stay, the establishment agreed to make a significant gesture of goodwill. Thank you for their understanding.

La Fount D'argent

13/02/2026: Usson Castle is a dramatic fortress ruin in the Auvergne region of France, perched atop a volcanic basalt cone. It was once one of the most impregnable fortresses in the kingdom and was known as the "Capri of the Auvergne."
Here's what you need to know about this historic site:
The "Impregnable" Fortress
The castle was gigantic in the Middle Ages. It consisted of three concentric walls that rose in terraces up the hillside and boasted a total of 20 towers. Its location atop the steep volcanic rock made it virtually unassailable.
The Exile of Queen Margot
Perhaps the castle's most famous story is the 19-year imprisonment (or rather, exile) of Margaret of Valois, known as Queen Margot.
From prison to court: She was imprisoned there in 1586, but the resourceful queen managed to bribe her guards and regain control of the castle.
Cultural Center: During her time in Usson, she transformed the rugged fortress into a glittering literary and musical center, far removed from the intrigues of Paris.
The Destruction by Richelieu
That only ruins and the village of Usson remain today is due to Cardinal Richelieu. In the 17th century, he ordered the castle's demolition. He wanted to prevent such powerful fortresses in the Massif Central from serving as refuges for rebellious nobles. The castle's stones were used by the villagers as building material for their houses.
The Present-Day Village of Usson
Today, Usson is one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France (the most beautiful villages in France).
Volcanic Organs: Impressive basalt columns (volcanic formations) can be seen there.
The Queen's Path: A hiking trail leads up to the summit, where a large statue of the Virgin Mary now stands. From there you have a 360-degree view of the chain of Puys (volcanoes) and the Cantal Mountains.
04/10/2025: Beautiful because of the ruins and its location but a shame that it is closed in September
