07/06/2026: Amazing place and hosts, such lovely people. After travelling through the Pyrenees for two weeks, we finally felt like we ate proper, good French food. It was trully excellent, best meal we had all trip. We hope to come back here one day and regret staying in Aulus-les-bains instead of here. If you are planning to explore the area, I would definitely recommend this hotel as your base. Or also just for a one night stop or to eat. We also saw an otter swim as we sat at our table overlooking the river. The owners can tell you all kinds of amazing things about the region and they are happy to have a chat with you which is great if you're looking for things to do

07/06/2026: We arrived unexpectedly on a Saturday evening, June 6th, 2026, at 8 pm, with 11 people. We received a wonderfully warm welcome. The meat was perfect, the cassoulet perfect, the foie gras perfect, and the presentation of the meat before cooking was exquisite. I highly recommend this restaurant.

09/11/2025: A restaurant I used to frequent. Friendly owners, home-style cooking with fresh, local ingredients. It's so sad that this establishment is closed and the premises are up for sale!

15/09/2026: The waiter was incredibly unpleasant (the one with the little ponytail). Their ice cream is awful... they were already out of caramel even though half their menu needed it... so I ordered a Pyrenees ice cream, thinking, "Let's go, it must be amazing..." Ugh, no taste at all... industrial ice cream, the sauce was grainy, the flavors were bland, the pear was rock hard and therefore unripe. It's shameful, 10 euros for garbage. Serve beer, that would be enough instead of disappointing people passing through Ax-les-Thermes so badly.

11/09/2026: We had fideuà (paella with small pasta), a very good discovery and a very generous portion. Definitely worth trying. A lovely little restaurant with very attentive staff. Not to be missed if you're in town. We'll gladly return.

09/08/2026: A wonderful discovery! We had a fantastic time in this charming and authentic place. The welcome was very warm, the atmosphere friendly, and the food truly delicious. The dishes were generous and flavorful, made with excellent ingredients. You can immediately feel the passion and attention to detail. The setting is lovely, with a traditional inn atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and fully enjoy the moment. We wholeheartedly recommend this place, both for the quality of the food and for the warm welcome and ambiance. We will definitely be back! 09/08/2026: The old inn is no more!… The change of ownership has destroyed what made this place so charming. No, preserving the setting isn't enough! You need a passion for cultivating local produce with well-prepared traditional dishes. The garbure (a hearty vegetable and meat stew) is more like onion soup. The meat isn't seared properly and is undercooked, even though it's cooked over a wood fire… the fire isn't burning hot enough in every sense of the word… The suckling pig has lost its flavor. The kidneys and sweetbreads are gone… And the same goes for the lavish desserts of yesteryear. In short: a huge disappointment that must have already spread, since in the middle of summer the chairs are already empty and you can book at the last minute, whereas before you had to book several weeks in advance. P.S.: The €25 credit card imprint per person for the reservation is undoubtedly designed to ensure that those unaware the iconic owners are no longer with us leave as soon as we arrive!
