12/01/2026: Excellent meal and a quiet restaurant. I recommend it.

10/01/2026: As a culinary professional (private chef and master saucier), I feel compelled to leave this review after an extremely disappointing experience, especially considering the overall rating of 4.7, which I find completely unjustified. Aside from the Mont-Blanc beer and the glass of wine, the €80 spent was unfortunately not justified by the food. The mushroom velouté, first of all, was sorely lacking in soul and skill: no aromatic depth, no distinctive character, not even a textural element or finishing touch (golden croutons, herbs, sprouts, etc.). Clearly, the porcini mushrooms were not of high quality, and the result was bland and uninteresting. Serving razor clams in the middle of January, more than 300 km from the sea, is already a cause for concern. But beyond the questionable choice, the execution was lacking: a rubbery texture, poorly executed parsley butter, and a dated, imprecise presentation. The beef and sautéed potatoes confirmed our disappointment. The meat was of mediocre quality, sinewy, and had an elastic texture, likely indicating a poorly selected or improperly handled animal. This is all the more regrettable given that the nearby Ardèche plateau offers remarkable products when properly prepared. The potatoes, for their part, were bland, unseasoned, and lacked any real flair. A simple sprinkle of fleur de sel would have been the bare minimum. As a master saucier, I can only note a general lack of skill in seasoning throughout the entire meal. We decided against dessert, fearing another disappointment, unless perhaps the person in the kitchen was more of a pastry chef than a cook. The welcome wasn't bad, a bit rushed, and the bread on the table was quite good, which, for me, is a sign of ethics and respect for the customer. There's a lack of good wine recommendations, and personally, I would never work with a wine merchant like Champoutier. Again, if necessary, I have my own cellars and suppliers, both organic and conventional, who grow their own produce. I sincerely regret having to write this review, but hypocritical kindness serves neither customers nor French restaurants, which deserve better. This review is intended to be honest, objective, and constructive. 04/01/2026: We had a wonderful experience eating at this village inn. The place is decorated like a typical country house, even with a wood-burning stove in winter. The food is tasty and plentiful, while still having a homemade feel. The service was exemplary and prompt. They also have a playpen for children.

30/09/2025: This simple-looking refuge is a little gem. The view from the terrace is sensational. The welcome is very warm, and our host explains the initiative menu in detail. The meal is simple and excellent. You might have the pleasure of meeting the lodge's mascot, a very expressive cat who just wants to be petted. I highly recommend it. 27/11/2025: Easily accessible country inn with ample parking. Homemade cuisine, set menu, à la carte options... everything was excellent from appetizer to dessert... very pleasant staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely return. Reservations are essential.

14/09/2025: A delight for the taste buds, it's been a long time since we've found such a good restaurant. The foie gras is sublime. The mashed potatoes with the fish, a creamy delight. The sea bass fillet with fennel. The tender beef fillet. As the owner says, a killer. A very friendly British lady with her French husband. The glass of wine, a fruity white, a blend of Clair, Dijon, and Côtes-du-Rhône.

30/12/2025: Google really should offer a "5-star plus" rating for this type of establishment. We had already visited several times a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Since then, the restaurant has been taken over by a couple who have elevated the cuisine by drawing inspiration from their travels, enhancing each dish with spices from around the world. But even before the food, it's the welcome that makes all the difference. It's rare these days for a restaurant to readily accept a last-minute reservation when you call at 11:00 AM explaining that you have a two-and-a-half-hour drive. And yet, with a genuine smile over the phone, they simply replied, "No problem, we'll be waiting for you." We finally arrived a little after 1:30 PM. The welcome was remarkable: no stress, no comments about the late hour, no pressure related to the kitchen potentially closing soon. Just genuine kindness and impeccable service. Then came the discovery of this new menu, particularly the €50 tasting menu, worthy of a Michelin-starred restaurant. This set menu includes an amuse-bouche, two mini-starters, a main course, and mini-desserts. Each course of the meal was a delight for the eyes, the aromas, and the flavors: truly flawless. We also discovered some excellent local wines, served with great kindness and constant attention. The service was warm, efficient, and genuinely professional. There's no doubt that everything is homemade and prepared with fresh ingredients. We even watched the chef preparing the scallops with our own eyes. In addition to the excellent cuisine, the restaurant is located in an absolutely stunning village. A charming setting, perfect for a pleasant stroll after the meal, to prolong the enjoyment a little longer. The only complaint we could make... is that this restaurant is unfortunately too far from our home to enjoy it more often! Thank you again for your warm welcome, your delicious food, and your excellent service; it was a real pleasure.
