27/02/2026: Hiking from Bidart to St Jean-de-Luz, I was so happy to find this bar open on February 26th, under summer-like weather! A very warm welcome, a fantastic location with a breathtaking sea view, and excellent food (special mention for the red berry panna cotta). I promised to leave a (good) review... and here it is!

22/02/2026: A disappointing experience from start to finish. There were two of us, and we arrived at 1:10 PM. We were told there would be a 20-minute wait; after 40 minutes, I had to remind them we were still there. We were finally seated. Another 25 minutes passed before anyone took our order. The appetizer arrived quickly, but then… more than 40 minutes of waiting without ever seeing the main course. We decided to leave and made our dissatisfaction known while paying for our appetizers and drinks. No apology, no consideration whatsoever, and to top it all off, a member of staff called me an “idiot.” I understand they were busy… but still! Lack of organization, a complete absence of professionalism, and unacceptable behavior from some staff members. Truly disappointed!

12/03/2026: The bread is very good, but we wanted to try the Basque cream cake in individual slices and were very disappointed—it was sorely lacking in cream and very heavy! We tried it at another bakery in the same town; it was cheaper and much better.

11/03/2026: So, a special 5/5 to the smiling waitress who wished us a lovely day with such warmth and kindness :) As a nurse, I can tell you how much that means! Next, a special mention for my new obsession: the unicorn roll! And for those interested in culinary culture and to awaken their palates to new flavors, you absolutely must try the lemon tart, a little marvel with multiple and delicious layers of taste :) One small negative point: the price! Yes, it's really high quality, yes, the team is great, but still, €5.80 a slice of pastry is excessive, I think... Tourists won't notice, but living in Bidart...

17/02/2026: The food was very good, but the service could be improved. The main course and dessert were very good, with a special mention for the dessert, which was truly excellent. However, the meal started somewhat disappointingly. The waiter refused to change the dessert on the set menu, even offering an extra charge, and then also refused to replace the broccoli with a simple handful of fries. It's a shame, as a little flexibility would have been appreciated. I even pointed out that there's no shortage of good restaurants in Pau, implying that this kind of rigidity might discourage us from returning. To his credit, the waiter later made up for it by offering us a plate of fries, a gesture we appreciated.

17/02/2026: A meal with friends for a birthday. Perfect welcome, very pleasant staff. A good selection from the à la carte menu. Beautifully presented dishes, fresh and seasonal produce. Our taste buds were delighted. Highly recommended! You can go there without hesitation.

15/02/2026: Excellent place. The portions are generous and delicious. The rillettes served as an appetizer were very good. For the ham and tomato, I would have liked two more slices of bread, as there were four of us. The ribeye steak was tender and well-seasoned. The mashed potatoes were superb. No complaints whatsoever. Everything was perfectly cooked and well-prepared. We had a lovely time.

15/11/2025: Incredible! A true chef in an authentic setting (the Ascain pelota court). We tried the menu twice, and both times, all we could do was offer our congratulations and express our satisfaction to the chef. Don't hesitate, go and meet him; with his talent, you'll meet a real character. Thank you for your warm welcome and the attention you gave us.

21/10/2025: Had a drink on the terrace. It's afternoon, there are few customers, the waitress isn't busy yet she is very unpleasant and speaks to us in a contemptuous tone both when taking our order and when paying. No hello, no goodbye, no thank you, no smile.

18/02/2026: I have no comparison to other cider houses in Bayonne, as I was just passing through on business. We ordered the set menu with... well, practically everything: the omelet... superb, the fish with pimientos... superb, and the beef... well, it brought tears to my eyes... the cooking and quality far exceeded my expectations, just look at the photos already posted. It's very generous portions... all in a relaxed, informal atmosphere, at long tables, chatting with other passersby... I take my hat off to the staff... because this is an experience I will never forget.

29/09/2025: The homemade punch was excellent; you can go there with your eyes closed! For the meal, you have the choice between the starter + main course, main course + dessert, or the full starter + main course + dessert, with 2 to 3 choices per course. We loved it and will definitely return! The staff was fantastic 😊
