10/11/2024: Restaurant super personnel super gentil est efficace ´quand au repas super nous avons pris le menu à 24 euros nous n’avons pas étais déçu super bon repas et très copieux je leur met une note de 10 sur 10 si vous allez a espelett n’hésitez pas à aller manger a ce restaurant

04/11/2024: Nous avons mangé à ce restaurant qui était un des seuls ouvert en novembre. Nous avons prit le menu à 24€, pas trop mal. Je n’ai quasiment pas eu de viande dans mon axoa, trop dommage .. entrée copieuse. Serveur agréable !

12/08/2025: What a pleasure it was to eat at this place. We greatly appreciated the welcome every time we came. The announcement of the restaurant's closure was a real heartbreak. It will be very difficult to find such a charming restaurant with such good value for money. Happy retirement, chef, and see you soon.

26/09/2024: What a great discovery! Frankly the best (and biggest) rib of beef and Basque ciders that we have had the chance to discover and all that at a very fair price. A big thank you to Joël our server who accompanied us very well during our meal.

You should know that the menu available on the internet is no longer up to date... today it is offered a single dish (rib of beef) in two different menus to choose from (with different starters and desserts), and unlimited cider for 35€, or 39€ depending on the formula chosen But we really enjoyed it, it was excellent from start to finish, and very generous in portions! And helping yourself to the barrels of different ciders adds a fun side and the waiter who advises us is very nice, thank you we had a good time!

01/09/2024: I don't understand some opinions. I have been there several times and for me it is the best place to eat in Saint Palais. First time, excellent welcome. More disappointing later with the length of installation and waiting for orders and dishes to be taken but still the best cuisine here.

09/11/2024: Nice and cozy restaurant in Ascain. We went for dinner based on the good reviews and it was a success. Of course, thank goodness that one of the waitresses was able to translate the menu into Spanish for us because otherwise it would have been difficult to know what to choose. The food is home-made, of good quality and well prepared. We ordered the Basque chicken with a side of potatoes and salad, a hamburger, also with a side of potatoes and salad, and for dessert, 3 portions of Basque tarts filled with different fruit jams. Everything was excellent, we loved it. 100x100 recommended.

07/11/2024: Very friendly restaurant where the dishes are homemade. It's good, tasty and quite filling. Quite expensive despite everything. Ambience a bit cold for our taste

22/09/2024: A place that I particularly liked but my last experience was catastrophic... inedible squid like rubber, fries were reheated, salad poorly seasoned. 30 minutes to take our order while the customers who arrive later are already served... industrial sangria, this establishment uses low quality products.

07/12/2025: Horrible experience. Unpleasant owner who refused to let us sit down at a table to have a coffee- without any justification or reason. The waitress told us that we couldn’t sit down and it was because the owner said we weren’t allowed (we presume it was because we were foreign ) such a shame as we’re in bayonne on tourism and we’ll be leaving with a bitter feeling because of this owner.

07/12/2025: It seems they don't accept Spaniards. Two Spanish families were asked to leave two empty tables without explanation, as if the manager didn't want us to sit down. And as soon as we got up, two French women sat down and were served... Surreal.

02/10/2024: Quality meal. Accessible location. On the other hand, the means of payment is missing: credit card. This penalized customers.

24/09/2024: Menu at 18€: salad (from the bag) with goat cheese (frozen); piece of beef (sole!), fries (frozen) and Basque cake (not sure but I think frozen). Decent service. No credit card!
