16/10/2026: Simple and hearty dishes. It's not haute cuisine, but it's good. When I want sophisticated food, I go to a fine-dining restaurant and pay accordingly. Here, it's casual and unpretentious; perfect for sightseeing. Local dishes (eels, axoa, Basque cake...). The large salads are generous.

13/10/2026: A wonderful discovery at Doxpi in Espelette! We had a fantastic meal. We chose the Ezkandrai with its duck confit, fries, and piperade, as well as the Ezpeleta with its veal axoa, Basque-style tripe, fries, and salad. All accompanied by a pitcher of sangria, and to finish, two gourmet coffees. Everything was truly delicious, with generous and flavorful home cooking, just the kind we love to find in the Basque Country. A great place we'll gladly return to!

08/08/2026: Hello We didn't stay at this hotel, but we ate there twice. Our gîte (self-catering accommodation) is located not far away in Ainhoa, about 2 km away. We were recommended by our hosts. A truly wonderful place where we ate very, very well, and especially homemade food. The specialty is paella made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. A very good menu. (The homemade trout fillet platter. The platter of Basque ham and pâté made with pork raised on their farm. The baby squid and homemade fries. The lamb was excellent. The albacore tuna salad was a delight.) This Logis restaurant is truly recommended; a wonderful discovery in the Basque Country and near the Spanish border. The owner is very pleasant, as are the waitresses, and my mother-in-law is always behind the bar—a truly lovely place. Thank you very much. See you soon. 12/08/2026: Get off the beaten track, leave the main square and head towards this restaurant; you won't be disappointed. The talo and marinated pork are must-tries. The wine on offer, a Rioja full of structure and freshness, will complement them with a delicate authority. Much like the owner himself: generous, accommodating, and colorful, just like his cuisine. And, on your way to the restrooms, take a detour to the left with your flashlight to see the municipal pelota court. A memory of a wonderful discovery and a warm encounter, during a stopover (highly recommended in this village) on the way back from Portugal.

05/08/2026: We had a wonderful meal... Don't be fooled by appearances; this little restaurant isn't very visible and doesn't look like much, but that's not the point... The menu is simple yet authentic, everything is fresh and homemade. Follow the advice of the waiter-chef who will give you a warm welcome. A delightful experience.

26/05/2026: Always a warm welcome, well-organized and efficient table service, even though we were a group of 20 to 22 people depending on the year. The rooms are well-equipped and comfortable, and the view is superb.

My parents and I loved our meal from start to finish, and the waiter was very pleasant: he explained the origin of the ingredients and the different dishes. Of course, this restaurant offers a menu based on seasonal produce! I highly recommend it :)

Menu changes according to the fresh seasonal ingredients. Very good local wine and cocktails. Gourmet food, enjoy any time. 04/09/2026: Disgusting food! I've never seen anything like it in the Basque Country where we've lived for 10 years. Probably a staffing problem, but that doesn't excuse anything!

04/08/2026: We usually come to Sunset every summer. The staff is fantastic and always tries to find us a table despite the crowds. This year, however, we've noticed a drop in the quality of the burger, which has gone from delicious to just okay. Hopefully, this is just a one-off (August 29, 2026)...

29/07/2026: Before sitting down, we asked if we'd be getting drinks, and they said yes. We ordered two mojitos, and after five minutes they told us that if we didn't order food, they wouldn't serve us any cocktails. Only wine or cider.

02/09/2026: We've been waiting for an hour and a half and they've only brought one salad, it's infuriating.

02/09/2026: There were two of us. An hour's wait for a mediocre little salad and a dish with burnt turkey and potatoes 🙄 A waiter made us feel uncomfortable around a Spanish couple sitting next to us... he snatched the menu from this poor woman's hands to give it to us... they themselves had been there even longer than we had.... Avoid at all costs!!!
