21/08/2026: The setting (terrace) and the service are impeccable. The chicken liver pâté is exceptional, absolutely divine. I had some doubts about the frozen frogs' legs. They're very good for frozen frogs' legs, but incomparable to fresh frogs' legs for purists and lovers of Dombes frogs' legs. Regarding the price, it seems excessive for frozen food. I discussed this with the chef, who was kind enough to come and see us at our table. Overall, a good time, but it's important to clearly state on the menus that the frogs' legs are frozen. Customers should be informed. Thierry D

18/07/2026: We just discovered this restaurant, which we would rank as one of the best we've ever been to in our beautiful region. From the amuse-bouche to the petit fours, everything was perfect, and the cuisine was worthy of Michelin-starred restaurants. They change their menu every two and a half months, and we can't wait to try the new dishes. We highly recommend it.

14/06/2026: We go there quite often, both summer and winter. The staff is really friendly; you feel right at home. The food is delicious and very generous. The atmosphere is great and the setting is beautiful. Go there for a meal or even just for an ice cream.

27/08/2026: A wonderful discovery in Bourg-en-Bresse: "La Maison des Jacobins!" This restaurant is ideally located and boasts a superb outdoor terrace, pleasantly shaded by parasols, with a charming fountain in the square and the gentle sound of flowing water. The welcome is warm and friendly. All the servers are very attentive, kind, and caring. I was accompanied by someone with reduced mobility, and there were no access problems whatsoever, whether in an electric or manual wheelchair. As for the food, it was a real treat! My colleague opted for the Bresse chicken with morel sauce and new potatoes, while I chose the dish of the day, a heart-shaped meat dish – "EXCELLENT!" I highly recommend La Maison des Jacobins, both for the quality of its menu and, above all, for the kindness and attentiveness of the entire team. 👏😊

06/09/2026: We used to come regularly before. First time with the new owners. The food was very, very good. But... isn't it said that criticism helps us improve?! So, a few comments... No ice cubes for the aperitifs. We used to get a small amuse-bouche too! The wine (rosé) wasn't kept chilled even though it was very hot; we had to ask. And we also had a small petit four with the coffee! A 45-minute wait at checkout even though there weren't many people. Of course, you don't have to do the same! But these are the little things that make a difference! We'll still come back and recommend you.

22/08/2026: Review: A disappointing evening There were four of us, and unfortunately, the evening was a series of minor disappointments. It all started with the alcohol: the rosé served wasn't the one we had ordered from the menu. Then, we ordered several dishes, including quenelles. About 15 minutes later, we were informed that they were no longer available. It would have been appreciated if they had told us when we ordered. The frogs' legs were good, but unfortunately a little overcooked. And to top it all off, we were served fries… while we were still waiting for our gratin. We had to ask where it was, only to find out that it had been burnt and thrown away. At this point, it was starting to add up for a single evening. In total, the bill came to around €300 for four people, with an experience that unfortunately didn't live up to the price paid. We do, however, appreciate the gesture of goodwill: a glass of rosé, a beer, and an extra dessert were offered to us. It's appreciated, but unfortunately, it's not enough to make up for the string of problems that plagued us throughout the meal. In short: far too many disappointments for a bill of €300.

30/08/2026: Having been to this establishment several times, this time it's too much! The owner's rudeness ruins everything. No welcome whatsoever, and to top it all off, since none of the desserts appealed to me, I asked if I could have a scoop of ice cream. Imagine my surprise when she replied, "Oh no! Ice cream is for dessert!" It's a shame, the food is good, but I won't be going back.
