25/06/2024: I think the owners are confusing the word "copious" and mixing genres... A starter that strongly resembles a main course, a velouté which resembles a puree, a dessert which resembles a starter. The impossibility of only taking main course/dessert, or starter/main course...a lot of waste because it's impossible to eat everything...well we can take doggy-bag, but that's not the goal... Photo of the starter: meat, vegetables...😕 Following the owner's response, I replied that indeed we had not understood that we could only have one starter or other, except that we had pointed out that we would not be able to finish all the dishes but the waitress did not tell us or remind us that we had the choice of only one dish...

22/07/2024: Friendly welcome with our dog, copious plates and tasty cuisine. We had 4 different dishes and desserts and everything was delicious! Go there without hesitation!

28/09/2024: Excellent cuisine, very friendly and attentive staff, all in quick service. We even take leftovers in case we don't finish the plate! The possibility of ordering pizzas (excellent and plentiful) is pure joy. I highly recommend. 👌👌👌

21/09/2024: I recently dined at L'Escalet restaurant and was very disappointed with the experience. I ordered octopus and polenta, but the octopus totally lacked flavor, and the polenta was a mess, completely liquid. It is surprising that such a poorly prepared dish is served. In addition, no atmosphere is created by the restaurant. They seem to take advantage of the setting of the port of La Ciotat, attracting tourists thanks to the night market, without worrying about the quality of their offer. These visitors will leave without even knowing the flavor of good polenta. The service was not up to par either. We were placed in a corner, not really taken care of, and the waiter spent his time making jokes about the tourists, rather than focusing on the customers present. It would have been more appreciable if he invested more, especially towards local customers who expect a minimum of quality on their plate. To top it off, when choosing desserts, we were assured that everything was homemade. Unfortunately, the dessert we chose was covered in industrial whipped cream, which was very disappointing. In summary, Escalet no longer meets expectations, both in terms of quality of dishes and service. I no longer recommend this address.

19/10/2024: It's not what it used to be, frankly disappointed since there was a change of ownership... - Salad soaked in sauce. Which no longer even has the flavor that we often found, and too oiled, a taste of an under-range of condiments. - bland toast, sometimes a toasted taste… - an interminable wait, already it's sometimes long with the previous owners, but this is horrible. -A young waiter with a pouty knee, the lady who is surely the boss, is often chatting with people and sipping something. -The cook is also slow at times. And for the toasts, we see that they are not as loved as the previous owner. Even the chicken which had a rather special and tasty mayonnaise, we don't recognize the taste because the mayo is so bland, and often we don't even feel it on the toast because there is so little of it... I've been going back there a few times to try again, but I'm going to end up abandoning this place for my usual desires. Damage,
