11/12/2024: We had a wonderful lunch at the Bar Tabac Brasserie in Arles France. Right off the square with lots of atmosphere. We had butternut squash soup (Veloute' de butternut, Poe'lee' de champignons, lord grille et ses croutons) actually really thick, creamy and rich soup with lardons (small pieces of pork) and divine crunchy croutons. In the USA this would be a bowl of soup, in France it's a meal and evidence of a dedication to making food a sensuous experience.

07/12/2024: I enjoyed myself, quality of service, quality on the plate, very welcoming and warm person I am not from Arles, but nevertheless I felt at home there I know that when I come back, I will not look for a another address a pleasure to return to this beautiful place of people who put their heart into it and it shows. Thank you very much for this moment and this delicious meal. See you soon.

13/09/2024: we take an aperitif, taking care to warn us not to receive our dishes straight away bingo as soon as the aperitif is served the dishes arrive, we send them back by negotiating because we force you to accept the dishes, at the end of the day the waitress tells you that it will be cold.. broken stemmed wine glasses no carafe of water brought no salt shaker no wine list offered red wine served in the aperitif glass of white wine in short, French service they won't see me again

25/09/2024: Excellent welcome! I reserved the table this lunchtime at the last minute and we were very well received by a very attentive young woman. The tuna tataki is a pure delight! Just like pastries

30/11/2024: Not great. The waiter is very friendly but sad place, kitchen not fresh. Mussels au gratin, one bad out of the 6 that should have been served, 1 had fallen!!! My colleagues had 6 and 5, salmon tartare not very fresh. In the menu. I don't recommend it

27/11/2024: We were this weekend with my partner and my daughters, a place that I recommend, the waiter Thibault very friendly and generous, smiling, the dishes are top notch, unfortunately the desserts were victims of their success, I finally found a place where I would be very happy to return… see you soon

01/11/2023: How can I tell you that I was really disappointed with this hotel. At 2 a.m. I was woken up by bed fleas, I dialed 9 to get the night person who told me on the phone that I was a liar of course I told him to come to my room that I had proof. I presented the creature to him and he confirmed that it was a bed flea, which he threw on the ground, it didn't matter if it multiplied, it was me who killed it. I was moved to a different room with the suggestion that if we found any in the second it would come from me. Insulting customers like that is not okay at all. Of course I got home I had to wash everything to make sure I didn't bring any home. Hotel does not deserve a three star, the road that passes by, the sockets that don't work, the cleaning staff who speak too loudly who think they're on vacation and the parking I'm not even talking about.

11/12/2024: Honestly, I should have been wary when I saw the prices on the menu: for the same price, in Italy, I could have had pizza, a glass of wine and a serenading waiter. But hey, I said to myself: “Let’s be crazy, let’s give the local star a chance!” Result ? A flat pizza in every sense of the word. The dough was nothing special, the tomato sauce looked like it came from a generic can, and the ingredients, while fresh, were sorely lacking in love and inspiration. In short, a pizza without soul, but with a very lively addition. The service, for its part, was OK. In summary: if you want a memorable pizza, go your way. But if you like spending lavishly on a dish without personality, you've come to the right place.

16/08/2025: A dinner... memorable, but not for the right reasons... If you dream of an evening where you're ignored upon arrival, where the music is slow (the musicians took more breaks than the music), and where the mosquitoes are the only ones really having a good time... then Gypsie Beach is for you! We arrived without a welcome—apparently, autonomy is in vogue. Once seated, we waited for the music, which finally started around 8:40 p.m., before the musicians regularly disappeared for long breaks. A live atmosphere, yes... but in homeopathic doses. As for the food, it was a bit of a lottery. The fish was frankly good—a real ray of sunshine. As for the rest, let's just say that the vacuum-packed supermarket salad needs no introduction, and the paella could have done with a little something... like flavor. The restrooms, meanwhile, offer an immersive experience in the world of minimalism: no soap, no towels, nothing. Fingers crossed that the hygiene in the kitchen is more inspired. And to top it all off, no measures against mosquitoes. You'd think they were the establishment's only loyal customers. In short: a beautiful place, but one that seems to focus mainly on the decor while forgetting everything else. Too bad! I hope this comment might be an eye-opener for the establishment's manager! And for those who read the reviews when they're hesitant about spending their evening there (mosquito-wise, it might be better to have lunch there than dinner). Really a shame, we had chosen this place to spend our last evening of vacation...

30/08/2024: Very good restaurant, the meat was excellent and the tiramisu too. The only downside was that we had sparkling water which arrived hot and they didn't change it.

09/12/2024: A warm atmosphere and staff. It makes you want to stay there and come back. The pizzas are excellent! I advise all people and families who want to have a nice time in Marseille.

19/09/2024: Great address in the heart of Aix en Provence. Very beautiful and very pleasant garden. Whether for lunch or for tea and a pastry, it is a very pleasant place where you feel sheltered from prying eyes. In addition there are exhibitions that you can do at the museum as well. I recommend!

09/12/2025: A real disappointment. While the food was decent, everything else ruined our evening. From the moment we walked in, the welcome was icy, accompanied by a heavy atmosphere and inappropriate remarks that immediately made us feel uncomfortable. At the end of the meal, we even discovered cocktails added to the bill without any explanation. The manager's behavior was particularly shocking: persistent stares, a haughty attitude, whispering to her employees… It's clear that customer criticism is part of the culture, and frankly, it's unacceptable. Such a lack of respect speaks volumes about the establishment's mentality. Good food isn't enough when the experience is this deplorable. I absolutely do not recommend it.

09/12/2025: We came with friends for a birthday celebration and had booked almost two months in advance to ask if we could bring our own cake, which they kindly agreed to. On the day, we learned we had to leave our jackets in the cloakroom for security reasons… um, okay? When we went to pay for the cloakroom, they wouldn't accept credit cards. Since we didn't have any cash on us, the cloakroom attendant kindly offered us this "service." All this only to see other women walk in without any problem, wearing their coats and heavy furs… So, apparently, "security" is a flexible concept. We went inside, and there… a frosty reception. A haughty, condescending, and completely unhelpful employee (perhaps a former Zara saleswoman?) disdainfully asked us what we had (the small cake) and if we had informed the establishment in advance that we were bringing it, which, of course, we had. In short, the evening passed. The atmosphere was frankly dead (apparently unusual; perhaps we came on a bad Saturday night, hence a bit disappointing, but whatever). However, the waitress (a brunette with blue eyes) was lovely, and the food was truly excellent. The stars are therefore solely for these two reasons, because unfortunately, the rest of the staff gives a very bad impression of the establishment. The woman who greeted us apparently felt entitled to openly judge us, whispering to her colleague at the bar. Professionalism: zero. Then, when we got to the bill… surprise! They added three cocktails that we obviously hadn't ordered. Apparently, it's common practice for them to try to inflate the bill, and therefore rip people off. Be sure to ask for your credit card receipts so they don't also claim that "someone didn't pay their share." You can tell they desperately need to replenish their cash reserves. That says a lot and paints a rather desperate, almost beggarly, picture of the establishment... So, between that and the unpleasant staff (excluding the waiters), it's best to avoid it. What a shame.
