14/09/2026: A fantastic experience at the Courtepaille restaurant in Pacé! The team was welcoming, friendly, and attentive, the service was efficient, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The dishes were delicious, well-prepared, and generously portioned. Special mention goes to the warm welcome and the kindness of the staff. 😊 We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back. I highly recommend this restaurant!

15/09/2026: Such a cute lunch place with authentic French Crêpes & Galettes. We ordered the Poulette Galette & a coffee which was great, served fast and also very decent prices. Definitely recommend if you are in the neighborhood. We happened to pass by during our route from Saint Lunaire back to the Netherlands. Also visited Mont Saint Michel on the way back, too.

06/09/2026: Delicate, refined, and original cuisine, deeply rooted in the Calvados region. A culinary experience not to be missed! A very warm welcome from the chef and his wife. One small point: in the upper dining room, the tables for two are too large for comfortable conversation, especially when the neighboring table is occupied by a talkative and noisy group.

We came with two friends for a reunion, and our time at El Olivo made it a perfect day! 🌸 The value for money is incredible! 10/09/2026: We came to eat last night with a group of friends. The welcome was acceptable. We were served by waiters who were a bit overly familiar, especially in this type of establishment. A nice menu, but exorbitant prices (€6 for two eggs! ... Of course, I'm not even mentioning the rest, which is outrageously expensive.) However, the problem isn't so much the price, but the quality that should accompany it. (My menu: bone marrow, steak tartare, and apple waffles) The price of the meal included a bottle of wine to share between six of us. €43 per person, so at that price, it has to be top-notch! For my part, the bone marrow was uninteresting, completely unseasoned, and undercooked. The beef tartare was far from what one would expect; the meat was seasoned without respecting the basics, it was white and greasy (beef tartare should be red and bloody). There was no accompanying sauce; the waiter offered us aioli and a cognac sauce... I don't see the connection. I'm not even mentioning the side dishes: a few salad leaves and a small handful of undercooked, uninteresting Salardaise potatoes. I'm raising the rating for the dessert, an exorbitant €10, but acceptable. (I won't even mention the four scoops and whipped cream my tablemate ordered for €10.) This restaurant has lost its former glory. It used to be a small bistro by the port, renowned for its atmosphere and food. It's a new location, just a few years ago. Success and expansion have led to decline. P.S.: I rarely leave reviews, but I had a rough night, and besides struggling to digest the bill, I didn't digest the meal either.

17/09/2026: A superb restaurant in Houlgate! The seafood platter was excellent, with fresh, high-quality products. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. A real pleasure from start to finish. A must-visit!

15/09/2026: 1. Service: We received a warm welcome. The waiter was professional, attentive, and responsive throughout the meal. 2. Quality & Value: Considering the price, we expected better quality. The fries seemed frozen, and the main course lacked flavor. However, the dessert was very good and made for a pleasant end to the meal. 3. Atmosphere & Setting: The tables are very close together; the restaurant is clearly trying to maximize seating capacity. This makes the experience less enjoyable and doesn't foster a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. Conclusion: A mixed experience. I recommend this restaurant without much enthusiasm. The prices are far too high for the quality offered. You get the impression you're paying for the touristy location rather than the food itself.

20/09/2026: The galette is very thin for the price (around €14), and you have to add almost €4 to have it with a salad.

18/09/2026: Located in a quiet little alley, this crêperie with its charming red storefront is definitely worth a visit. The intimate dining room is quite well-maintained. A big thank you to the two partners for their warm welcome! They are truly dedicated to providing excellent service. The menu offers a wide selection of fresh and generously filled galettes. The only downside: the behavior of some passing customers, who are far too impatient, inconsiderate, arrogant, or unpleasant, forgetting that running a small, artisanal business takes time. They're also the first to leave a scathing review at the slightest delay... A big thank you to the owners, who maintain their smiles and professionalism despite everything! Take a stroll down this street; you won't regret it!

02/05/2026: A wonderful discovery where the term "Agora" is perfectly apt. Indeed. A quick reminder, if needed: in ancient Greece, the Agora referred to a gathering of citizens and the place where it took place. Well, here you are. All sorts of people mingle here in a joyful and friendly atmosphere. The owner, Mika, with his warm and jovial sense of humor, immediately puts you at ease. In fact, it feels like going for a drink at the home of kind friends. The atmosphere is so welcoming. Everyone feels at home, even if you come alone. People talk to each other simply, with joy and respect. In short: The Place To Be! The only slight drawback is that it might not be wheelchair accessible except on the terrace, but perhaps they have a ramp; I didn't ask. In any case, I enjoyed a delicious coffee and had a very pleasant time. Try it, and you'll love it! Thank you MIKA for welcoming me so warmly, and thank you to your waitress who is very professional and also lovely 😍

06/04/2026: Honestly… this bar-tabac isn't just a place, it's a spiritual experience. You walk in, and you feel like your life is better just by pushing open the door. Even your overdraft hesitates to stay. The atmosphere? So clean you almost want to say hello to the walls. And the owner… well, he's not just a manager, he's a concept. The guy serves you a coffee, and you feel like he's been coaching you for 10 years. He looks at you, he already knows what you want. Before you've even spoken, he's already prepared your pack, your half-pint, and probably sorted out your personal problems. I swear, if all businesses were like this, there wouldn't be any more bad moods in France. Even people who say, "I don't like bars-tabacs"… they come here… and they get an emotional subscription. In short, if you don't go, it means you've voluntarily decided to miss out on happiness. And that, in itself, is a courageous decision.

19/09/2026: After reading many good reviews and on the recommendation of our son, we ordered a table for two here, and expectations were exceeded. The fish soup is a fish soup with a capital F, full of flavor, and the side dish provided an unexpected twist; delicious. The main course is fresh and more than enough to leave just enough room for dessert. Choosing apple ice cream with Calvados was the right choice; at the very end, we asked for a third scoop of ice cream and mixed the Calvados into it. Very picturesque and small, with cozy and friendly service. The quality is top-notch, truly top-notch.
