08/05/2026: A restaurant that lived up to our expectations! Pleasant and friendly staff! Exquisite and flavorful dishes of very high quality! We want to go back to try the rest of the menu! The steak tartare is simply fabulous and fantastic, a delight for the taste buds, with tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat. I highly recommend this restaurant; it's well worth the trip!

01/07/2026: We shared a meal with colleagues; there were eight of us, and we were very well seated and welcomed. Everyone could easily chat. The meal itself was excellent, no complaints whatsoever.

24/06/2026: The location is fantastic; we hadn't expected this when we drove there. We ate outside on the terrace. With a view of the river. The existing trees provided sufficient shade. Additionally, parasols had been placed to protect against the strong sun. The service was more than friendly and very professional. The food, 3 courses and coffee to finish, was more than excellent. Many a restaurant in the Netherlands cannot match this. The final surprise of the bill. Here, too, no good restaurant in the Netherlands can come close. So the aftertaste was made even better by it.

14/12/2025: What a wonderful evening! Everything was perfect. Bravo to everyone, the atmosphere was exceptional. Come see this magnificent show and enjoy a delicious dinner. A versatile team, always smiling, and Lola kept us laughing all evening. We'll be back.

04/06/2026: We had a very good meal on a Monday lunchtime on the terrace at the end of service. It was by far the best beef tartare we've ever had. A special mention for the fries cooked in beef fat. They were simply the best... The waiter was very professional, smiling, and pleasant. The waitress (the older of the two), however, was cold and brought me a tiny ramekin of mayonnaise that had formed a crust on top... Otherwise, go without hesitation; the terrace is lovely and the food is excellent. 👍👍

09/04/2026: An interesting experience at this restaurant. There are three set menus to choose from, one of which is more varied than the other two. The pizzas are large and generous, and the appetizers and main courses are colorful and full of flavor. A nice bonus is the terrace, which is available on sunny days. The restaurant is well laid out. Second visit: We booked the restaurant as early as possible for peace of mind, and it was perfect! We took our time and chatted with the staff. The meals are still beautifully presented, the burger buns are amazing, I highly recommend them. The desserts are still as delicious as ever.

11/04/2026: Routier Park, you pay for parking at the counter, you are entitled to a meal. *HOWEVER, WHEN YOU LEAVE, THE TELEPEAGE CHARGES YOU FOR PARKING AGAIN* THIS HAPPENED TO ME, AND I HAD TO PAY THE COMPANY FOR PARKING. I PAID FOR PARKING TWICE, IN CASH AT THE COUNTER, THEN ON THE WAY OUT VIA TELEPEAGE, IN CONCLUSION, THE COMPANY CHARGED ME €18.50.

30/12/2025: After pushing open the door, my eyes widened: a beautiful cellar, four estates belonging to Aurore and Amaury Devillard. There's something for everyone. When you decide to do a tasting, let yourself be guided by the vintages and grape varieties of the Côte de Nuits, Côtes Châlonnaises, and Mâconnais. A wonderful, truly wonderful discovery.

02/05/2026: My wife has an amazing memory. Checking my records, we had first stayed here in 1981 and then again in 1986. Some things such as the old farm implements she said had not changed. I had no recollection, but when I checked I had a contact noted with the old less pompous address – lieu dit rather than General de Gaulle. Finding the motel and restaurant was not a problem as it was well signposted off the main road into Macon. The lane past ranks of Tesla chargers was not prepossessing. However, after that the entrance to the desk in the old building was obvious. Thence to the motel part. Not an architectural 1970s splendour but very practical. Odd. Instead of parking next to the units the French park a distance away on the other side of the road. The rooms are perfectly serviceable in a functional way. Their pleasure is that there is a terrace to each and that looks straight onto the Soane river flowing past in it’s limpid way. A few metres distant and with nothing except nature and a footpath in in-between. On a beautiful sunny day little could be more atmospheric. If there is a material downside to the rooms and their age it is the bath. Perhaps when built that was thought to be a necessity. Now a short tub which is extremely, and I mean extremely, hard to get in and out of would be much better replaced with a shower. Perhaps not an over costly renovation and one which would save the owners money in the long run. Otherwise, it might be 2* but it is all more than perfectly adequate. Especially with the view. To which add a very decent continental breakfast. Not included in the reasonable room rate. What is not 2* is the restaurant. It is exceptionally good. There may not be massive choice, but that is irrelevant. What is on offer was delicious. Both the food and the wine are also sensibly priced. That you are a captive audience is not exploited. One can not only eat indoors but also on the terrace overlooking the fields and the river. OK, if you are picky the proximity of the A6 does create a bit of background noise. No doubt wind direction dependent. However, the proximity to the A6/A40 junction is an added convenience. We loved it. This time unlikely to wait another 40 years to return.

19/04/2026: Near the Tesla supercharger. Very good food and lovely staff in an amazing natural location surrounded by fields and horses.

18/05/2026: We had a wonderful time at Le Cloître restaurant in Cluny! The service was incredible: quick, efficient, and always with a smile, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We ordered the duck breast with Pinot Noir sauce, and it was a real treat. It was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was absolutely delicious. Well done to the entire team, both in the kitchen and in the dining room. A truly excellent restaurant that we highly recommend!

13/04/2026: A restaurant that doesn't need advertising; word of mouth works very well. Behind the stoves, a chef is busy preparing dishes for palates of all ages.

08/05/2026: We stopped by today for just a drink. The establishment was closed at the same time, and the lady had the keys, but she kindly served us, asking if we minded sitting alone on the terrace and leaving our glasses by the door, as she had to step out. They were a very pleasant, charming, and smiling couple. We will certainly return with pleasure.
