03/08/2026: Excellent frogs' legs and river fried fish, lovely shaded terrace. Attentive waitresses. The experience was the same as my 2025 review, but with more creativity in some dishes. Regarding the meal itself, our fried fish would have been better if it hadn't been overcooked, like the one we were served. Overall, the portions are generous and should fully satisfy even the heartiest appetites. Conclusion: very good value for money.

16/06/2026: I made a confident reservation by email and appreciated that trust, and I paid directly at reception. The staff was very pleasant. The place is rustic with all its charm. The room was simple and clean. The only downside was the small parking area and the visible rubbish bins right at the hotel entrance.

24/08/2026: We ate at the Au Fil de l’Eau restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the setting, which was truly lovely, right on the water with a beautiful view of the monument directly opposite. It's a very charming place. As for the meal, we were a little less enthusiastic. The chef's salad at €18 seemed rather simple and sparsely filled for the price. We were expecting a more generous portion. A few minor points could also be improved: the meats we ordered rare arrived medium-rare, and the sauces for my steak tartare took a while to arrive. Our neighbor at the next table was kind enough to lend me some while we waited. The service was occasionally a bit disorganized, but the servers are young, and we understand that they need time to find their feet. They did their best despite a few minor oversights. A little more organization and a smile from some of them would simply make the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, this is a restaurant with a beautiful setting and a lot of potential. A few improvements to the service, cooking methods, and portion sizes would allow for a quality-to-price ratio more in line with the prices charged. Nevertheless, we had a pleasant experience thanks to the ambiance, and we hope these few points can be addressed.

31/07/2026: Do you know this feeling when you enter a hotel and you immediately feel at home? It is the opposite with this hotel: it smells a little stale with run-down carpets everywhere. Our room also featured a very old carpet. As others have written here, it urgently needs a renovation. The beds were good, but it was very hot in our room. A ventilator was provided, but we found it difficult to sleep with a ventilator running. You cannot open the windows because a) there is a strong lamp outside that shines on the facade of the building and b) there are mosquitoes. The shower was uncomfortable with low water pressure and a low wall that did not allow me as a tall person to stand while taking a shower.

23/05/2026: A very warm welcome, the breakfast is very good and plentiful, the location is truly ideal. I highly recommend it.

27/07/2026: Excellent meal; my ravioli with St. Marcellin cheese, parsley cream, and salad were delicious, as was the beef tartare (see photos). Shaded terrace, friendly welcome—by far our best meal in Cluny. It just goes to show that you often only need to walk three minutes outside the tourist center to find a quality restaurant.

02/03/2026: Not disappointed at all, quite the opposite! Excellent cuisine, fresh produce, the ribeye steak (a real treat), the desserts (to die for!), the homemade aperitif was very good. There were six of us, and no one was disappointed. I don't regret my choice at all; on the contrary, I highly recommend it! 😉😉

19/08/2026: At the entrance, we take a ticket. I asked at the bar about paying for Telepass, and the bartender said that yes, you can. At the exit, there are two barriers. To pay for Telepass (like on French barriers), go through the left barrier, the right one is only for payment at the terminal. I scanned the entry ticket and the screen showed my truck number and wishes for a safe trip. So, Telepass works here at the left barrier (the one closer to the restaurant). The toilet is free. I asked the bartender for a shower (everywhere there are signs that a shower costs 2 €). The bartender asked for an entry ticket, stamped it and gave me the keys to the shower. He said that for truckers the shower is free, but upon presentation of the ticket. All the best!..
