15/08/2026: We stopped at Chalet Grillette for the first time this summer, although we've been coming to the resort for many years.
It was a very pleasant experience. In addition to the stunning setting with its views of the peaks, the staff were very friendly. We chose from a wide variety of dishes on the menu, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
09/08/2026: Excellent meal at Chalet Grillettes!! The view is exceptional, breathtaking view of Mont Blanc!! I highly recommend the hiker's platter and the pablova for dessert ;)

10/10/2026: A relaxed atmosphere with pleasant background music. But that's where it ends. We were there on a Friday evening for a drink. At 9 pm, the waiter started pressuring our neighbors at the next table. They wanted bread to finish their platter, and he came back with an empty plate, saying that everything was closed in the kitchen. At 9:15 pm, he removed their platter, and we felt compelled to leave. We were implicitly shown the door, and it was really unpleasant. On a Friday night in Chambéry, that's not quite acceptable, and we were extremely disappointed.

14/03/2026: We tried this little restaurant in Les Arcs 1950, and it's fantastic!
The dishes are well-prepared, and their homemade desserts are excellent.
We'll definitely be back!

11/08/2026: Nice place, pleasant service, but expensive and poor quality food. Don't order the fries! They're low-grade frozen fries, tasteless, and worse than the ones in my work cafeteria. The daily special was okay, but the portion was small. Just because you have a nice location doesn't mean you can get away with serving mediocre food.

26/08/2026: Delicious! This restaurant has such lovely and friendly service. The waiter took plenty of time to speak with us and share his recommendations in good English. There is also a wide selection of homemade desserts. Tip for people with celiac disease: gluten-free bread is available (for an extra charge) to accompany the fondue 🫕
23/08/2026: I had the worst case of food poisoning in my life and I'm barely recovering. I ordered the Asian-style steak tartare, and just writing the word makes me nauseous. I had to be given two IV drips to rehydrate, which is very difficult in the mountains. The food apparently arrives already prepared (even though it's advertised as homemade), and the cold chain is clearly not being maintained. I didn't think I was risking my life by eating at this restaurant, and in hindsight, I didn't want to post a review, but the consequences were too serious for me not to do my part by warning people not to order their steak tartare. My mother spoke on the phone with someone from the restaurant who denied any responsibility in this problem; however, it has been proven by the fire department, the hospital services in Bourg-Saint-Maurice, and the Vallandry medical center that I suffered very serious food poisoning from what I ate at this restaurant. Perhaps the other dishes were a little more palatable, but I'm still recovering from a major health scare because of a single meal.
I'm not expecting answers, compensation, or even apologies (they weren't offered initially): this is a matter of public awareness. Don't eat their steak tartare.

14/10/2026: Advantage number one: the option to have a fondue for one person, which is rare and worth mentioning. It could just be a little more generous and a little less runny, as it didn't stick to the bread, which was a shame. It was good with the morels, though.
The gravlak was okay. The cromesquis was good but cold; I had to ask for it to be reheated.
The Ugo spritz was fine. And finally, the glass of Roussette wasn't chilled enough. It's also a shame they didn't have Chigien Bergeron by the glass.
The staff were excellent, very kind and helpful. The vaulted room was full, which was a shame, but we were served very quickly.
We'll be back when we're in Aix-les-Bains, as it's a place we've known for a long time.
19/09/2026: Excellent experience for lunch on the last day of my holiday in Aix. Warm and friendly welcome, top-notch service, and the duck breast was simply divine and perfectly cooked. The terrace on one of the prettiest streets in Aix is a major asset of this establishment.

23/09/2026: We come to this restaurant very regularly and love everything about it. From the warm welcome to the quality of the food, everything is top-notch. The staff are always smiling, and we can't recall a single dish that disappointed us. Pasta, burgers, pizzas, daily specials—come and give it a try!
23/09/2026: Thank you to the restaurant for their response; I've updated my review accordingly. We had dinner for two in the evening, arrived without a reservation, and there was space available. The welcome and service were warm and friendly, no complaints there. Thank you again to the servers.
Regarding the menus —> the images appear to be AI-generated, but this isn't the case according to the response below.
We ordered pasta (carbonara and truffle), which we found just okay. Perhaps it wasn't for us, oh well.
Apparently, the restaurant is quite popular; maybe we should have tried the pizzas 😋
Don't order the profiteroles. They're too expensive, and the choux pastry is frozen; choose one of the other desserts instead.

14/07/2026: If I had known they would put me in a dirty, under-construction room, I would have never booked this place. To make matters worse, they only inform you *after* you check in that there are absolutely no cancellations allowed. It feels like a trap to lock you into a 4-night stay once you see how bad the accommodations actually are.
The Room: I wasn't even in the actual chateau; they put me in a stuffy, under-construction annex building. The carpets were filthy and looked at least 20 years old.
The AC: The air conditioning made a loud, disruptive shooting noise all night, making it impossible to sleep.
The Service: I had to ask twice over two days just to get anyone to look at the broken AC. They have no concept of customer service. Like some other reviewers mentioned about the customer service of the staff, smiling is optional.
The Restaurant: The only saving grace. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is decent.
The rooms are worse than a cheap motel for a huge price, and the management's policy and attitude are not friendly. Do not book this place.

08/08/2026: Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. We stayed here as a family with a baby and felt extremely unwelcome from the very beginning.
In the restaurant, the waitress actually complained that the two of us plus our baby had chosen a table for four because she would then have to “clean a table for four.” There simply wasn’t enough space for a stroller at the small tables for two. Other guests were also noticeably whispering about us, and even at check-out, we felt as though we were being judged by the receptionist.
The room was disappointing as well: extremely hot, no air conditioning, a tiny bathroom, and very short beds — completely unsuitable for my 1.90 m tall partner.
Overall, as an international family traveling with a baby, we unfortunately did not feel welcome here at all. The stay was anything but relaxing, and based on our experience, we would not recommend this hotel, particularly to international guests or families.

02/10/2026: Unpleasant owners, no atmosphere, disgusting food with plastic and flies in the dishes. Very disappointed for our annual family meal, avoid this place at all costs!!!! And the next day everyone was sick: food poisoning?????

We opted for the frog legs, absolutely delicious! The owner and his wife were very friendly, pleasant, and professional.
We had a wonderful time. Bravo! Congratulations!
If you're looking for a truly great restaurant, I highly recommend it.

03/09/2026: Limited menu options – the combos include nigiri, but not à la carte. The kitchen is dirty, and so is the chef...it doesn't inspire much confidence...the service, however, was impeccable. An ordinary place...right off the highway and OK – the view further on is very nice...but that doesn't justify the frozen tempura shrimp and other very ordinary appetizers...high prices for such a shabby place...
31/08/2026: Impeccable service, but a poorly maintained setting
We came as a couple, drawn by a menu with rather high-end prices, but the overall experience was disappointing.
The positives:
The staff is professional, courteous, and welcoming. No complaints about the service.
Areas for improvement:
Maintenance of the setting: The terrace could use a real refresh (the wood is quite damaged), and the immediate surroundings remain very noisy with the road below.
Cleanliness of the menus: The menus provided were unfortunately very stained, which detracts from the overall impression and doesn't inspire confidence in the overall hygiene.
The drink selection: The menu is a bit limited; we would have appreciated simpler options (like a kir) rather than being forced to order cocktails.
Feeling uneasy about the cleanliness of the menus, we exceptionally chose not to stay for our meal. It's a shame because the staff are truly lovely, but the place deserves more attention to detail to live up to its price expectations.
