08/08/2026: The location right at the summit is fantastic. I had tagliatelle Bolognese, which was good and the portion was very large. However, the price was also large – €21.50 is quite steep, even up in the mountains.

24/07/2026: After a long and difficult climb, the only thing you want is a nice place with friendly service and a cold drink. And ofcourse some fish and chips or perfect home made pasta. You will not find it on Chaussy, but you will on Madeleine. A wonderful experience after a painful climb.

13/07/2026: While the bar is really nice inside and the wine selection is extensive, the prices for the platters and other sharing platters are very high compared to the portion sizes. Paying €25 for a mixed platter is fine, but it should include a bit more of everything.

07/08/2026: When we asked for two seats outside, the rather unpleasant waitress offered us a spot in a cramped, overheated corner inside. When we refused, instead of offering to let us wait, she told us to go to her competitor's restaurant next door. I'll let her boss judge that... Fortunately, the much more pleasant waiter seated us, and we had a very good meal.

16/07/2026: We ordered the "Loris Tomato Onion" burger for takeout, which was supposed to be made with steak and chicken. When we got home and opened the burger, we were unpleasantly surprised to find only one steak and a single, tiny piece of chicken. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food for this order.

08/06/2026: Impeccable and clean room (room number 5 is fantastic) The valley is magnificent. For dinner, you can also go to Taverna dell'Orso (a 5-minute walk in the heart of the village). Open for a month now (family-run), the food is extraordinary and the service is sensational. Bernard Garnier

04/06/2026: So, how can I put it? "Excellent!" I love the setting!! It's so typical of the local area, it oozes authenticity!! And the inn has such great taste in decor! Wow, the welcome was top-notch!!! The food, I'd say wow!!!!!!! Truly homemade and fresh!! Delicious, yum! Yum!!! Perfect for families and couples, with cozy rooms!!! And for me, a business trip, it was fantastic!! A real relaxation experience!!! I'd say come on over!!!!!!! 😊😉 Thank you so much for this wonderful time!!!

04/07/2026: Lunch on the terrace in the shade of the parasols, no reservation needed. It was almost full, but there's a high turnover, so finding a seat wasn't a problem. The daily menu was very good. The crushed tomatoes were delicious and incredibly flavorful. The ham with tender vegetables was lovely. The fruit salad was perfect. A great find. Parking nearby. Peaceful and quiet.

18/06/2026: A warm and friendly welcome. Lunch on the terrace was very pleasant, the service was perfectly timed, and the portions were generous and delicious. A great place. I recommend it.

10/08/2026: Good sandwiches, the burgers are delicious right from the start. The desserts are very good. For the price of the set menus, there's nothing to complain about. There's an upstairs area for eating in, as well as space on the ground floor, and tables outside when the weather is nice.

14/03/2026: Breakfast buffet was more than adequate to get the day started: coffee machine that makes lattes, selection of fruits, yogurt, granola. Eggs, bacon, and sausages. Plenty of french butter. Dinner was spectacular, gourmet french food every night with good protein, vegetables (Braised leg of lamb, bok choy, some pea soup; Plancha duck, turnips; mashed potatoes and skirt steak, fish and some vegetables; and on your last evening it's fondue, and salad); dessert is also great with some mousse, lava cake, pavlova. Service is excellent, staff from reception Carol is warm and welcoming. The staff at the dining area Marcel, Justine, Michell are great hosts, attentive and accomodating. Very happy with my stay. The shower is adequate with hot water/ cold water in the shower. The bed is ok, i definitely wish they had bigger/ thicker pillows as the ones in my room were definitely flat. I kept my balcony door open for fresh / cooler mountain air at night. The rooms are generally quiet, the main source of noise i found was the plumbing which can be distracting. I kept earplugs on at night and that was enough to help me get restful sleep. The Olympic gondola is about a 7 minute walk from the hotel. The ski and boot storage facility of the hotel is readily available so you dont have to pay extra to store them elsewhere if you dont mind carrying them. Overall, i think it is excellent value in the region considering the food and service at an affordable price. I would happily go back! Only thing to note is that the Gondola is about a 25 minute ride to Meribel center. It is generally reliable, though in case of a breakdown, the resort sends a bus to take you from Brides les Bains to Meribel.

28/08/2026: Fantastic welcome, very friendly, with free bivouac, the cheapest pint on the Beaufortain tour (€8), and a hot shower for €3 with no time limit; a blessing after a hailstorm ☺️❤️

21/08/2026: Last stop on our Beaufortain tour. We were so glad we stopped at this refuge before heading back to Queige the next day. We spent the afternoon enjoying the chalet and its view. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a delicious meal (soup, lasagna, and fromage blanc with berries).

13/08/2026: I bought some samples here to vacuum-pack to take back to Italy. The clerk was very patient and kind. Great prices. Fantastic!

13/08/2026: The product presentation was superb, and we received an excellent welcome on July 13, 2026, from Anthony, who knows his range perfectly, including the aging process, etc. Everything was clean and appetizing. The prices are always very fair, and a special mention goes to the farmhouse cider! See you soon!

20/05/2026: I go here every day when I'm in the resort. So many happy memories of going there with the SCGB for apres and the warm welcome we always got. The ski bus stops nearby, so it's a great place to end the day's skiing rather than braving the crowded resort runs into Val.

06/04/2026: A very nice place, the food is good at lunchtime, and there's a great atmosphere at 4 pm. Just one downside: the DJs were much better in 2024.
