10/02/2026: We had a wonderful time here. The menu is very varied and everything is prepared with ultra-fresh ingredients. We tried the tuna tartare with fries (cooked in beef fat) and the "donkey ears" (a type of pasta), and it was absolutely delicious. For dessert, I loved the rice pudding, presented in a unique way. The service is super friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend it to anyone passing through Savines-le-Lac!

30/10/2025: A beautiful place. A quiet hotel with large rooms overlooking the surrounding mountains (magnificent in autumn). A restaurant with well-spaced tables serving local produce with a touch of originality. An ideal location for hiking enthusiasts. Friendly and welcoming staff.

08/01/2026: Another superb place to stay in the Queyras region, with welcoming owners who go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome! Excellent, simple, and satisfying food, especially after a long snowshoe hike in the Queyras mountains. It's located in the village of Saint-Véran, which sits at an altitude of 2,042 meters and is listed among the most beautiful villages in France.

23/02/2026: We've been regulars in Serre Chevalier, and at the L'Estable restaurant for four consecutive years. The food has always been excellent, which is exactly what you look for when you come to the mountains: good charcuterie and cheese. But the atmosphere with the owner wasn't great at all! But that was BEFORE! The team, now in 2026, is FANTASTIC, with a lovely owner and a PERFECT team, attentive to their customers without being pushy, always smiling and kind. 14/02/2026: After three evenings at this establishment over three weeks, we were charmed by the chef's refined cuisine, bursting with flavor and presented in a way worthy of a fine dining restaurant. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the decor was lovely. However, the service, despite the very kind waitress Lola who knew her wines well and was able to tailor it to the customers' tastes, was sorely lacking in professionalism. The staff would drink at the bar with other customers/friends, forget the bread we requested or our portions of fries, and leave us waiting an hour for aperitifs while bringing the starters at the same time... There was a lack of organization and restraint, which is a shame because we felt a bit neglected at times, even though the food was delicious. Perhaps the bar and restaurant areas could be separated, as there was a lack of teamwork between the service and kitchen staff. Overall, we had a very good time and enjoyed excellent food. ✨

05/02/2026: A charming bistro-style restaurant offering authentic and flavorful cuisine at a very reasonable price for the quality of the dishes. The service is courteous and very pleasant, and the waitress, kind and full of humor, combines friendliness with impeccable politeness. I've had the opportunity to discover many restaurants in the valley, but this one particularly won me over, from the appetizer to the dessert. I wish the chef and his team many years of success; for my part, I will return with great pleasure every year.

20/02/2026: What can I say about this place... except excellent!! The service was perfect, a special thank you to the owner and Adam who took wonderful care of us. We loved it so much that we went back three times during our stay in Risoul. The raclette, the fondue, the tartiflette, the chocolate fondant! Everything was delicious! It's suitable for vegetarians as it's possible to replace the cured meats with vegetables. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and warm. I think that's what the owners were aiming for, and it shows. Thank you so much.

15/12/2025: December 14, 2025. I still missed the waiter who constantly teases you because you only had €10 in cash. I've never seen anything like that in any of the refuges I've been to. Not noticing the signs at the start of the trail that said "no credit/debit cards accepted," we asked if we could order something to split for that amount. (Which, incidentally, was available: polenta with butter and parmesan cheese.) From there, the first jokes (ignored) began, with a refrain of "I'll take care of it, we'll see, we can work something out." He sat us down and shortly after, without saying anything, brought some plates. From there, a constant sneering and banter that made us feel less uncomfortable than more, almost like we were begging. "What's life like for the poor?" "Who washes the dishes between the two of us?" All this in front of the other tables. In the end, it turned out we could pay with Satispay (even though we'd already asked for it before, but they refused because they said there was no signal. In fact, the Wi-Fi worked right away). The best part was that we could have easily ordered an appetizer, main course, dessert, and coffee, thus spending triple the amount, but instead they chose to constantly mock two customers who wanted to come back another time and spend much more, just to thank what seemed like a genuine kindness. Unfortunately, it was kindness disguised as rudeness, because, aside from the constant teasing, if you tell you we only have €10, let us sit down, and then bring us a €16 dish, then you're really acting in bad faith. I didn't want to raise my voice at that point because I was already too embarrassed to say, "Here's the agreed-upon €10, let him add the €6." So, thank goodness, Satispay was available. And since I'm not dishonest, I paid what was due. Evidently you hadn't spoken. So, another tease. Anyway, all it took for me to hear the waitress say "Enough, Dad," after more constant banter before payment, was for me to realize there was already some discomfort here. You tried to get too familiar, you teased me the whole time, you gave a clear lesson in how to treat customers in front of relatives, and now you've caused the (albeit beautiful) refuge where you work to get a negative review. My sincere compliments.

30/01/2026: The welcome was very friendly and professional. The rooms are simple but clean and spacious enough. The manager kindly upgraded us, as the hotel wasn't full outside of school holidays. The restaurant is pleasant, and the food is good. Breakfast is very good. We'll be back.

27/01/2026: We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend with our 4-year-old daughter. Everything was perfect: cleanliness (of the room and common areas), welcome, service, location (just a few meters from the chairlift and the ESF children's ski school), restaurant (from breakfast to dinner, everything was excellent). Don't change a thing. We will gladly return.

03/01/2026: Incredible stay at the hostel! The owners are lovely and very dedicated. The hostel restaurant is delicious (local, fresh, and high-quality products). Breakfast is also great. Absolutely nothing to complain about, it was perfect, thank you so much. I highly recommend it!
