05/09/2024: My first time at the brasserie Fantin Latour for lunch, it was an exceptional experience with dishes that were tastefully presented. The taste of each new dish was exceptionally curated with local ingredients, picked by the chef himself in the Alps. There was a story about the chef mountain climbing every Monday to collect some herbs, it added to the charm of the place. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere even though we were in the first room near the entrance with lots of people coming in and out. I'll come back for more

01/09/2024: After having tested and appreciated their gourmet cuisine we tried a theme evening - barbecue in the garden - and what a disappointment. For me, the dishes are not up to par at all. From the buffet I remember four positive things: the bread (always excellent), the mushroom terrine, the gravelax salmon and the cheeses (nice selection and very good maturation). The rest is good but not worthy of the price point - a little over €100 for two with a bottle of entry-level wine. Starters with lots of legumes (fortunately there wasn't just that but they were simple preparations). The meats were too dry, the two vegetables were not cooked enough - beyond the crunch, the fennel is even quite indigestible. As for dessert, it was poor: a cake that was much too heavy (cheesecake type with a very thick biscuit), apricots in too sweet syrup, a crepe Suzette from which mainly came out the bitterness and the alcohol which was not enough flamed. On the other hand, the service is top notch. I didn't expect so much attention for a buffet meal. The garden is quite pleasant without being particularly pretty. I'm going to try a buffet formula one last time in Narbonne "aux grands buffets" and if disappointment is expected again I will avoid for good this formula which I don't particularly like. My suggestion until then: you go to your “favorite” caterer, you indulge in what you buy, even if it means having half a lobster, you buy a bottle of wine that makes you happy and you find yourself a corner of greenery which dominates Grenoble. That's it, no regrets, beautiful memories with your soul mate who will find your gesture very romantic, and what's more, you will have spent much less money. 24/08/2024: Really nice French place. The pizzas taste great. Different than usual. Atmosphere is good. Desserts are also super fun. Order yourself at the bar. Lots of locals.

04/09/2024: Enchanting. Phenomenal setting, timeless, warm welcome. The chef is kind and very talented, the dishes are of exceptional quality for an affordable price. To do and redo, if I could go there every day I would.

28/09/2024: I agree with the other comments, very long service 2 hours for starter, main course and dessert. On the other hand, it was delicious, we enjoyed ourselves and the waitress was very smiling and attentive. As a starter, perfect egg and Savoyard salad. As a main dish, ravioli and cream with parmesan and as a dessert, floating island and chocolate mousse.

03/09/2024: We regularly return to this restaurant which is one of our favorites in Grenoble. The cuisine is excellent, special mention for the morel dish! The service is fast and the team provides good advice. Please note, reservations essential several days in advance if you want a table!

21/08/2024: We came in looking for a table and we had a dog. The reaction that we had a dog was so rude we chose to leave. I understand not all places welcome dogs but the reaction was so strong I didn’t want to support this place.

24/09/2024: A tourist-catching hostel!!! Being a native of the region, this is the first time I have eaten so poorly in a mountain inn. The children's menu consisted of a slice of ham with a few slices of sausage all accompanied by potatoes, not fresh, but frozen, the same kind you make when you don't have time to cook. The Vertaco dish (Sassenage blue cheese tartiflette) is also made with the same frozen potatoes, the blue cheese was only present in the name of the dish, as it was not found in the flavors. The only decent dish was L'diot without feeling the flavors of the mushrooms. I find it shameful to serve typical mountain dishes with industrial potatoes, when you can find many small producers who sell absolutely divine potatoes (the flavors of the high plateau). Not to mention the price which is relatively expensive when you analyze the composition of the dish and the origin of the products... Note around 100 euros for two adults and a child. Hoping that the inn will question this because it gives a very bad image of the region which is nevertheless dotted with very good places to eat well.

12/08/2024: “Le Petit Détour”, a whole program… Indeed, this little detour is totally worth it! The boss and his team are very welcoming, attentive and provide excellent advice to help you discover authentic and tasty cuisine, prepared with local products, especially which will remind us of traditional gourmet cuisine. All for a very reasonable price. See you soon...

16/09/2024: Dish of the day chouchaka with pan-fried green beans. In reality, a chouchaka which was a simple ratatouille and a salad on the side 🙄 Only the gourmet coffee was up to par.
