05/09/2024: My first time at the brasserie Fantin Latour for lunch, it was an exceptional experience with dishes that were tastefully presented. The taste of each new dish was exceptionally curated with local ingredients, picked by the chef himself in the Alps. There was a story about the chef mountain climbing every Monday to collect some herbs, it added to the charm of the place. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere even though we were in the first room near the entrance with lots of people coming in and out. I'll come back for more

01/09/2024: After having tested and appreciated their gourmet cuisine we tried a theme evening - barbecue in the garden - and what a disappointment. For me, the dishes are not up to par at all. From the buffet I remember four positive things: the bread (always excellent), the mushroom terrine, the gravelax salmon and the cheeses (nice selection and very good maturation). The rest is good but not worthy of the price point - a little over €100 for two with a bottle of entry-level wine. Starters with lots of legumes (fortunately there wasn't just that but they were simple preparations). The meats were too dry, the two vegetables were not cooked enough - beyond the crunch, the fennel is even quite indigestible. As for dessert, it was poor: a cake that was much too heavy (cheesecake type with a very thick biscuit), apricots in too sweet syrup, a crepe Suzette from which mainly came out the bitterness and the alcohol which was not enough flamed. On the other hand, the service is top notch. I didn't expect so much attention for a buffet meal. The garden is quite pleasant without being particularly pretty. I'm going to try a buffet formula one last time in Narbonne "aux grands buffets" and if disappointment is expected again I will avoid for good this formula which I don't particularly like. My suggestion until then: you go to your “favorite” caterer, you indulge in what you buy, even if it means having half a lobster, you buy a bottle of wine that makes you happy and you find yourself a corner of greenery which dominates Grenoble. That's it, no regrets, beautiful memories with your soul mate who will find your gesture very romantic, and what's more, you will have spent much less money. 23/07/2024: Das Restaurant ist an einer gemütlichen Lage in Ornans. Seit Juni 24 wird das Restaurant von einem neuen Team geführt. Aus diesem Grund sind die alten Bewertungen nicht mehr aussagekräftig! Wir waren mehrmals im Café des Arts und jedesmal war die Bedienung äusserst freundlich, aufmerksam und sehr humorvoll! Das Essen hat ausgezeichnet geschmeckt und war schön angerichtet. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt für uns. Wir empfehlen einen Besuch in diesem Restaurant wärmstens!

30/06/2024: Friendly, rather relaxed welcome. Unfortunately I did not find the dishes and the service up to the standard of a gourmet restaurant even though that is the ambition displayed on their website. The background music was also not to my taste (a sort of generic low vocals looped throughout the meal) The price remains reasonable for the quality of the food, and the vegetarian options are of good quality.

23/06/2024: We came to eat at this restaurant twice and we loved the experience each time. Each dish is a culinary experience, we feel like we are traveling with every bite. We recommend this restaurant!!!!

03/12/2023: I had known Balou for many years as a loyal customer. Having moved it had been a long time since I had returned there, so I was happy. WE arrived around 7:30 p.m. on a Friday evening, there was a table behind us that was almost finished. The very smiling waitress comes to take the drinks quickly, she will take orders around 8 p.m. Then a long wait begins, we see people arriving well after us served before. .The first plates will be served at 9:45 p.m. only two, the others will arrive in dribs and drabs to the point that we all ate out of time... too bad for an end-of-year meal. The food is good but not exceptional, there is a choice and the prices are correct. It's a shame that the service was so long, we were not offered to have another drink, we were brought water and bread because we asked. Given the wait, no one dared to have dessert..
