11/09/2024: Traînefeuilles is a great place: everything is well laid out, subtly chosen so that visitors' expectations are fulfilled. With great discretion Caroline is attentive to the wishes of the guests. The setting is exceptional: of a beauty difficult to match.

08/09/2024: Superb accommodation with very good service. Country environment with swimming pool. Despite the very variable weather, we were able to swim in the swimming pool.

30/08/2024: On the way back from our vacation, we stopped for lunch. The welcome was pleasant but that will be our only compliment. Dish of the day: homemade mayo fried sausage, what a disaster! The fries were black, I refused them. My wife accepted them but wondered if the cooking oil was changed regularly? The sausage was tasteless and let's not talk about the homemade mayo... for dessert it will be useful to review the recipe for a crumble, the dough on top is not made only of sugar. Of course my comments were made to the boss before writing my opinion, you have to know how to listen to criticism, something that the boss did not accept. However, I wish you good luck.

15/09/2024: Très bon accueil, tant à la réservation par téléphone qu’à notre arrivée sur place. Jolie décoration à mi-chemin entre le moderne et le classique. Service au top et excellent repas (nous nous sommes régalés). Belles présentations des assiettes. Nous étions placés près de la fenêtre ce qui nous a permis d’avoir une jolie vue sur la Loire (un peu décalée en contre-bas). Plusieurs possibilités pour garer sa voiture sur place. Petite terrasse pour les jours de beau temps, mais certainement bruyante car le restaurant se trouve juste à l’une des extrémités du pont qui permet de traverser la Loire, d’où un passage de voitures assez soutenu ! Par contre à l’intérieur on n’entend pas du tout le bruit des voitures. Ce restaurant nous avait été conseillé par la chambre d’hôtes où nous logions (le Château de Colliers) et nous en sommes ravis car nous y avons passé un agréable déjeuner en tête à tête à l’occasion de nos 45 ans de mariage. Réservation conseillée, ce restaurant est réputé dans le secteur.

29/08/2024: Les Closeaux is a gem of a restaurant in an unassuming cluster of farm style buildings near Amboise. The food, ambiance and service outshone some M-starred restaurants we visited. My appetizer, a caramelized tomato on a bed of tomato aspic accompanied by Gorgonzola ice cream, expertly paired flavors and textures. Husband had the fois gras ( I know, I know, but this is France). Creamy, slightly saltier than the norm, in a good way. My tuna was perfectly medium rare, with a flavorful sauce. His beef was also cooked perfectly medium rare. Desserts included an extraordinary rhubarb tart. The wine list featured local varieties, including a moderately priced Chinon red that blossomed in the glass. This is the stuff restaurant dreams are made of. Don’t let the short drive from Amboise deter you: Google will get you there and back. Dinner for two, including two cocktails, a bottle of wine, and dessert, was about €130, far less than almost any dinner in the States.

21/09/2024: Very good restaurant. Everything is homemade. They put local producers to work. Good products, regional and/or organic and not more expensive than in other restaurants. We were able to have a gluten-free version of the burger for our celiac son. Very serious people, having asked us to come at the start of the service to ensure "zero cross contamination". I highly recommend! But you have to book 😉

17/09/2024: We were very well received and without reservation. The dishes are made from fresh produce, they are delicious and are beautifully served on plates or bowls. The service is perfect and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We very warmly recommend this restaurant which we were more than happy with!

14/09/2024: A great discovery! Restaurant with a modern and refined style which caught my attention when I passed through the main street. A warm and friendly welcome from the owner who takes the time to explain her menu to you: cuisine using local and seasonal products! I was tempted by the puff pastry catfish casserole, a treat. The dessert to end the meal “Pistachio/apricot Madeleines” is a real delight.

We eat like kings, delicious fresh pasta, thick sauces as we like them, but above all... Desserts will take your breath away... (Special mention for the cheesecake 🤤). 01/09/2024: Attirés par les commentaires élogieux , nous étions impatients de dîner sur la terrasse . Très grande déception au final. Si l’endroit et les 2 amies étaient sympathiques , le dîner quant à lui était mal cuisiné . Rien à dire sur les vins et l’assiette de fromages locaux , mais l’assiette d’échine trop fine et trop cuite ainsi que la farandole de légumes était sans saveur et chère pour le contenu. On n’a pas pris de dessert du coup Dommage
