04/08/2026: I had a small tea for €4.20. No problem when it came time to pay; they accept credit cards for purchases over €5. I asked to pay €5 by card, but they said it was impossible. I thought I only had my smartphone, but I wasn't sure the ATM would accept it. So, a wasted trip to the ATM. I found my credit card and had to make a second trip back to the ATM, supposedly because it was indicated there, but I didn't see anything. 😠 They told me there would be a fee. At €4.20 for the tea, I wasn't going to quibble over another euro. I have to admit I was annoyed, even though the employees weren't at fault. So, for a coffee or anything more, don't forget to have cash on you.

04/07/2026: During our hike on the Cap de la Hague (trail 5), we stopped at this hotel-restaurant for a drink and a bit of a break. The place, like the village itself, invites tranquility and quiet conversation, a welcome respite from the heatwave, which is rather limited in the Manche region.

23/08/2026: We were very disappointed with our visit to the restaurant at the Hostellerie du Château de Bricquebec. We didn't feel at all transported to another place. Just a few tables were set, the rest needs improvement. The decor needs updating. There was no atmosphere. I do not recommend it.

21/08/2026: What a magnificent hotel, steeped in history and stories, some of them quite small, judging by some reviews. Yes, this hotel has retained its original character and could use a few touches here and there, but that doesn't detract from its charm (everything in its own time, because if some people had done their research, they would have known that the current owner only bought the hotel in 2024). The rooms are more than adequate, offering excellent value for money. This château benefits above all from the exceptional kindness of the four people who manage this grand building. They are all charming, approachable, helpful, and accommodating. The ladies at reception and breakfast are accommodating and offer good advice. The chef has a small menu because he works with fresh produce, and his cuisine is delicious (I declare that I found the best chocolate mousse I have ever tasted here!). The restaurant only seats 16, so you get both excellent cuisine, a fantastic setting (a huge, medieval-style room), and, as an added bonus, privacy. The receptionist/waiter/host is kind, open, humble, and also offers good advice; he's incredibly generous. He's a generous person (something sorely lacking in others). Furthermore, Bricquebec is strategically located, making it easy to explore the entire Cotentin peninsula. Grumpy, grumpy, grumbling, and other killjoys, even killjoys: keep walking! If you enjoy new experiences, are curious and open-minded, come to the Hostellerie du Château de Bricquebec to taste the food (and a very good Bénédictine), meet other people (the setting is perfect for that), and, if you're discreet, listen to the music of Satie played during the quieter hours of the day by the kind host.

05/08/2026: Nice pizza! We had a Bambino pizza and a Chorizo ​​pizza this evening (August 5th, 2026). They were flavorful and generously sized, but you have to like thin crust, which I do. 04/08/2026: This was my first time at Subway and I wasn't disappointed. I was a little lost because I didn't really know how it worked, but the employee who served us, wearing a bandana in her hair, was very pleasant and guided us well 😊 The service was therefore very quick and efficient, and the food was very good.

14/05/2026: A very good experience at this restaurant in Portbail. The cuisine is creative and flavorful. The fish of the day was accompanied by a spicy sauce and creative dishes featuring seasonal vegetables. A real treat! The service is attentive and efficient.

01/12/2025: The welcome was awful. The owner came to take our order while complaining about his health problems. We ordered two drinks and two pizzas. The pizzas arrived after a half-hour wait, even though the restaurant was almost empty. And still no drinks! After insisting, they finally arrived. The pizzas were poor quality. The owner, drinking from behind the counter, came to clear the plates in a state of advanced drunkenness. He made misogynistic and offensive remarks because my wife hadn't finished her meal. Several customers, who arrived before and after us, left the restaurant without ordering anything.

20/10/2025: Just eaten the steak, and Gambas and have been totally satisfied. I eat big portions and these definatly filled the stomach. The staff are very proffesional and friendly and take there time with the customsrs to ensure satisfaction. Will be returning again.
