14/08/2024: Discovered this nice restaurant on the way back from France to Freiburg. Very nice courtyard with a great wall design, which serves as a stage background on Fridays for great singing and show performances. Real insider tip!!!!

06/08/2024: A particularly nice little restaurant. Louhans is typically the town that we pass through… So we stopped for lunch. A very short menu, which is an indicator with fresh products. A daily menu at €22 that I recommend. An extra smoothly service led by the chef’s wife. Elegantly presented dishes. A careful decoration.

30/09/2024: Very efficient and friendly service which, despite the crowds, managed to find us a small place for a good lunch!

24/09/2024: Good welcome but the salad with only 1 samosa and a small ice cream which has nothing to do with it. Do it there for 22 euros. It’s still abusive!!!! Be careful!!!

26/08/2024: Partis de Lons le Saunier en vélo ce lundi matin, très contents de notre choix de nous arrêter déjeuner à La Poularde... menu Express très bien, produits frais, service impeccable et rapide, jeunes serveurs souriants et attentionnés, nous reviendrons!

17/08/2024: Tous les plats étaient excellents et bien présentés. Service par une jeune apprentie très professionnelle et très agréable. Le repas en terrasse était très appréciable.

26/10/2025: Despite a change of ownership in 2022, the place remains pleasant. The menu is quite limited, which may surprise some, but the dishes we tried were decent.

01/10/2024: What a view from this hotel! It’s on top of the hill, tucked away. Feels a bit like entering a bygone era, when the hotel was glamorous in its day. Staff was professional and welcoming. Some English spoken. We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and had delicious food and drink. Our room had a private balcony looking out the back of the hotel, which was still a charming and private landscape. Our room was very large and the bed was comfortable, although the room and the hotel did seem a bit tired and in need of a refresh (maybe their is part of the charm?). The was the first hotel we encountered on our trip that gave us a sheet and blanket (vs a duvet)) which was appreciated, since I sleep hot. Our room did not have AC, and there was no real good option to ventilate the room, since the room had no window and only a patio door. If had we opted to sleep with the door open, there was no way to secure the room and someone could’ve walked right in from the street. There was a window in the bathroom, but it was broken and did not open. There was some mould in the shower, which would’ve easily been taken care of with some bleach. The pool was tepid, and the Jacuzzi was cold. The indoor pool area was quiet and peaceful, and had quiet please signs. It would not have been a good place for children. There is an outdoor pool, but it was closed due to colder weather when we were there. Overall, this is an interesting and quirky hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. Worth the trip!

22/09/2024: >>>> General atmosphere <<<< Correct welcome with explanations of possible activities. We did mini golf (which could benefit from getting back into shape). Then we went to the indoor pool. The temperature was lukewarm. The jacuzzi was cold. Towels were available. The hamam and sauna (10€/30min) were broken. >>>> For the bedroom <<<< We were surprised to have mold in the shower. We directly informed the reception... who was not shocked... who did not offer us to change rooms... In addition she mentioned having had the problem in another room and that as a result they had put "the paint ". >>>> For the meal <<<< We also had 2 menus at the restaurant (39€/pers.): decent starter, fatty steak without vegetables with bland fries (we didn't like it), decent dessert. The rolls were nice. The young waitresses are friendly and smiling. Given the problem with the room, we had the “free aperitif”. >>>> Conclusion <<<< We found that a real shame because it’s a place that could have potential. We saw that it is not maintained any more... and we therefore see the marks of time.

15/08/2024: Excellents plats maison. Des produits frais, un beau choix de vins. Bref un très bon moment. peu de plats sur la carte, ce qui est toujours un gage de qualité.

25/08/2024: We wanted to end our vacation in France with two families in this magnificent accommodation. Unfortunately, our car broke down on the way. We called the hotel and even though cancellation was no longer possible, we were not charged for the night. This excellent service alone deserves 5 stars. We will definitely return there on our next trip to France!

25/08/2024: Great experience at the restaurant both thanks to the very warm welcome and the quality of the dishes. The place is superb, inside and out. Eggs in meurettes are incredibly good. The only downside is that there are no menus even though it is indicated on the website. I will come back and share around me :) thank you
