16/09/2026: Very nice people, honest food and the best icecream

16/09/2026: We stopped by for lunch today just for an aperitif, and we received a very warm welcome. Unlike a little further down the road, we weren't turned away. The atmosphere was pleasant, the menu was great, so we stayed for lunch! It was a very good decision to go there. Everything is spotless, unpretentious of course, but perfectly adequate. A friendly, family-run restaurant with very, very good burgers. I highly recommend this place. Thanks to the team, and keep up the good work! Mag and Nono

07/06/2026: Passing through Oraison for two days with my partner and daughter, I came in out of curiosity the day before and, having loved my pizza (the chorizo ​​was incredible, by the way!), I came back the following evening for another one (another chorizo ​​for me 🤣). One of the best pizzas I've ever had, I highly recommend it! See you very soon when we're in the area again!

09/06/2026: Nice hotel, good staff, a somewhat older hotel which is noticeable in the rooms. We were here with our motorcycles.

18/08/2026: We stopped for lunch on a whim. The meal was very good; we thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything was homemade. It's a shame this little restaurant is closing at the end of September. We're giving it 4 stars because the prices are too high. For example, a tomato and burrata starter at €18 is, in our opinion, overpriced. While the portion is generous and tasty, it doesn't justify the price. Nevertheless, if you want to stop by before closing time, don't hesitate. The service is pleasant, friendly, and energetic.

17/08/2026: The ravioli is not recommended, but the rest was delicious. Nice place to sit.

18/09/2026: Great value honest cafe in centre of town. Beer is more reasonably priced than most other bars in town and the food is decent value too. The large baked Camembert platter (2 ramikins of melted heaven with dried meats and potato wedges) is fabulous value at €30. Definitely recommend.

14/09/2026: A great find! Returning from vacation near Mâcon, I stopped here for a leisurely lunch on a Monday. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside, it's incredibly pleasant! The young waitress is energetic, responsive, and very friendly. The rosé wines are fresh and delicious. The platters are a bit small; I opted for the Montagnard burger. It's a winner, a huge winner! I highly recommend this place :-))

10/05/2026: A pleasant and comfortable stopover with delicious food (Sisteron leg of lamb)

10/05/2026: The hotel itself is charming and full of character, but unfortunately the dining experience fell far below expectations. We chose the tasting menu and ended up leaving multiple dishes unfinished — something that should raise questions in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Just to mention two examples, the asparagus sorbet was honestly terrible, and the trout course (which replaced the scallops listed on the menu, without anyone bothering to explain the change) was particularly underwhelming. Service was polite, though not especially attentive for this category: no bread plates, butter initially forgotten despite asking, and water bottles not refilled unless explicitly requested each time. On a positive note, the lavender and honey dessert was excellent, the bread very good, and the wine selection well curated. Overall, the gap between the reputation, the actual experience, and the price paid felt too large. A restaurant with such history and legacy deserves more consistency, and Michelin recognition should continue to be earned at the plate.

27/08/2026: A mountain refuge with meal service (dinner, breakfast, and picnics) overlooking the highest natural lake in Europe. Friendly staff, and above all, incredibly delicious homemade meals for adults and children alike (beef bourguignon, red lentil soup).

26/08/2026: The Refuge du Lac d’Allos is a truly wonderful place to relax in the heart of the mountains. They offer a set menu prepared with fresh, homemade ingredients. The dishes are traditional, simple, generous, and absolutely delicious. Plus, the staff is incredibly friendly and the welcome is truly warm. Be sure to book the day before, as places fill up quickly.

21/07/2026: Always a pleasure to see Gilles, Valérie, and the little one. A warm welcome, big smiles, and a lively atmosphere. The food is delicious, from the roasted Camembert and fries to everything else. There's a lot of joking, a lot of loud talking, a real sense of life. One of our little pleasures on the way up to Chabanon. Lovely people who put a smile on your face. Goodbye friends, Jeanmi and Flo (the pizza maker) 😘

12/06/2026: Quiet transit hotel with disrespectful staff. The staff members lack any sense of morality, are young, and usually unsupervised. They also park their own cars daily in the reserved parking spaces for the disabled, which is supposedly permitted by the manager (who is also an involved party!!!). Very arrogant response from the owner of the Citroën Xsara when making a comment about this (see photos). Apparently, the management itself decides to occupy those spaces if no room for the disabled has been reserved (??????). We had also booked a standard room but do have a disabled parking permit; not everyone is less mobile or disabled in the same way. Additionally, some male members of the reception (the same ones mentioned above) pay more attention to the female member of the bar staff than to the customers presenting themselves at the reception. The breakfast itself is well-prepared and tasty, but sometimes there is fresh fruit juice and sometimes not (?????). The room has a nice shower and is clean. This hotel loses 3 stars from me due to the arrogance and disrespect of the management towards people with reduced mobility; therefore, I have attached a photo of their vehicle (without a reduced mobility card).

06/06/2026: I was there for the first time last week, and I can tell you it's a very good establishment in terms of property and staff. They're really friendly, and I was lucky enough to have a room with a terrace, which is rare in hotels. Breakfast is very well organized. The only small detail is that the parking lot isn't suitable for trucks; I get dropped off by my work colleague in the evening and they pick me up in the morning. Thank you to the whole team.

07/09/2026: A fantastic restaurant with excellent food and top-notch service. Our first time in Castellane for a holiday, and we'll definitely be back if the opportunity arises. For dessert, we had the speculoos tiramisu, which is nothing like the Italian version, but it was exceptional... absolutely delicious! Thank you!

06/09/2026: Hello, we arrived at the restaurant quite by chance on a charming little street in the small village of Castellane. We stumbled upon a small restaurant where we had made a reservation for a table for two at a specific time. The time arrived, and we arrived at the restaurant. Not having a table, they set us aside. A table became available fifteen minutes later. The waitress was very friendly, as always (and professional). Instead of coming to tell me my table was ready, Enza called out from a distance, very loudly. The restaurant was full, but it was truly wonderful. Everyone turned around to greet us – a fantastic welcome! We were shown to our table. The waiter – and I mean the waiter – served us very, very well. We ate very well, with a smile – the service was perfect. The setting is very pretty, but I find the tables too close together because we could hear each other talking without being able to have a conversation. We couldn't hear ourselves speak. The setting is nice, but extremely noisy. In terms of value for money, be prepared for noise. As for cleanliness, forget it, the toilets are far from clean...
