25/06/2025: A unique experience, not for everyone. One of the few places open on Sunday. Owner is friendly, although sometimes engaging in a very sarcastic way. Our food was OK, filet was not a filet, but other cut of meat. Lamb was good, and seafood bisque had split and was only mussels (although still tasty). You have to be prepared for the owner to engage you, it is not a place to go for a quiet meal.

19/06/2025: Terrific place! We were in Bayeux celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary, and this was our first meal upon arrival. The food was wonderful. Everything was fresh and delicious. The owner was very welcoming and warm - made us feel right at home. We shared stories and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. I highly recommend this place for a relaxed atmosphere, a good meal and great music too.

01/01/2026: We ate there on December 31st without a reservation. The set menu was €95, including starter, main course, trou normand (a small glass of Calvados served between courses), cheese, and dessert. Very good, friendly service. Lovely setting.

01/12/2025: My favorite little restaurant in the old port area. The Camembert crisp is absolutely delicious, and the chicken à la Normande is one of my favorite dishes. The restaurant is pleasant and the food is always good. I highly recommend it.

01/01/2026: Very friendly staff 🙃🙃🙃 (sarcasm). Not at all helpful or customer-oriented. You get the feeling you're bothering them by coming in to eat or drink. A bad atmosphere was therefore felt while eating or drinking.

06/12/2025: The hotel is perfectly fine on the seafront. However, the €19 breakfast is a big NO!!! We went to have one at the port for half the price. The restaurant is far too expensive and of mediocre quality. To elaborate on your response, we specifically mentioned that the quality wasn't up to par, and as for the refined atmosphere, we were seated at a table of about twelve people, including children (no problem), one of whom was running around shouting, without your staff intervening to restore calm to the room for the sake of the other 40 guests. A shame, in our opinion, because the service itself was very good.

04/12/2025: Eight years ago, I said the location was ideal and the food was decent. I recently went back for a business dinner featuring scallops: a disaster. At a fishing port, after watching the boats come in, I ordered seared scallops and risotto. The result: ridiculously small scallops, clearly frozen, not seared at all but literally boiled. And this in the middle of the season, when nearly 3,000 tons are landed annually in Port-en-Bessin. It's incomprehensible. My advice: avoid it.

20/11/2025: We spent the night at François's place; he was very friendly and welcoming 👍 The room was a bit small, but a generous breakfast was included in the room rate 👍 Excellent value for money 👌 Very clean! Fantastic location ++++++++

10/11/2025: Hello, I went to Champagne Ardern. The staff are very friendly, quick, and efficient. The food is very good; I wasn't disappointed. The prices are reasonable, there's something for everyone. I highly recommend it.

23/12/2025: If I could give zero stars, this would be it. A restaurant I've frequented for a long time, and which until now has been impeccable… but my last experience was extremely disappointing! I had booked a meal for 20 people for an event two months in advance with the waiter. (Invitations ordered and sent) The owner met with me to discuss the reservation… not a very warm welcome… a very arrogant person… however, I went ahead with it… Two weeks ago, like many others, I learned that the restaurant was closing its doors but continuing to offer service for professional and private events. (My event wasn't affected per se.) However, I sent an email asking if my reservation was still valid and if the conditions remained the same… no response… I went to the restaurant, the waiter passed the message on to the owner, who asked me… I'm still waiting for a call back… So I booked my event elsewhere! The day before yesterday, a caterer called me back saying they were taking over the reservations… I had the pleasure of telling him I wasn't going to proceed and wished him the best of luck working with an establishment like that! An arrogant boss who manages his reservations terribly, doesn't bother to call his clients back, and I think he doesn't care about losing a table of 20 people… he probably doesn't care about that… In any case, he's off to a great start with his new venture! Avoid at all costs, because they've lost a lot of customers! No wonder the employees are coming and going like they do every day of the week…

The food is amazing, we come from Indonesia and having this local food fantastic: Cod Fish (, Beef Soup and Chicken with local material so good. We recommended to all of you, the local food hunter 😍 Lisieux so amazing and the restaurant must try

14/09/2025: There were four of us, including a child. The staff is welcoming and pleasant. The food is crude. Considering the price of the dishes, one would expect more finesse. The presentation and flavor of the dishes do not offer the expected pleasure. The cuisine is that of a small brasserie (...). I hope that this review will give the staff the opportunity to review their kitchen work because the place remains welcoming.
