25/04/2026: We love coming to Le Grand Café on Saturday mornings for our coffee during the market; the atmosphere is lively and very pleasant. We sometimes have lunch there, and we always have a wonderful time: the dishes are delicious, generous, and served with a smile. A friendly place where you're always guaranteed a good time ☺️

14/06/2026: At the marina. Seen from the boats. Some unpleasant smells coming from the port, but that's just part of the sea sometimes. Basic meal, nothing extraordinary. Simple, efficient. Nothing more.

20/05/2026: The meat and fish were undercooked, with no suggested side dishes for the vegetables and no mention of them on the menu. I'm not sure the products were fresh! The establishment wasn't clean. Expensive for what we ate. Disappointed.

19/04/2026: A very bad experience. From the start, I received inappropriate comments on my phone twice (because I was on my phone while waiting for my food). The service was extremely slow: over 15 minutes of waiting just to get ketchup, despite asking two different servers and repeating the request several times. You clearly get the impression you're bothering them as soon as you ask for anything, and on top of that, you get unpleasant reactions (sighs, etc.). The fries were frozen, which is disappointing, and the cheese on the burger was barely melted. Organization-wise, nothing works: the server came back three times to ask for desserts because he'd forgotten them, and the birthday candle was placed on the wrong dessert. Finally, the facilities leave much to be desired: windows that are stuck and won't open, a toilet door that won't close, and you can't even hear yourself speak because of the noise. Overall, the service and quality were far below expectations.

21/05/2026: Absolutely avoid this place. We were served dishes that were clearly microwaved and ridiculously small portions. The jar concept is frankly awful: you can't really see what's inside, and it gives the impression that the food can be kept for several days before being served, so they can give us less (clever). We arrived at 12:30 pm: the restaurant was empty, not a single customer. In hindsight, that was already a very bad sign. And when there's no one in the dining room, you'd expect a dish to be properly plated and served with a minimum of care, on a plate (and not just some jar placed on an empty plate)! A very disappointing experience, lazy food and service, and a pointless concept. I strongly advise against it.

06/11/2025: Lovely little shop, well-maintained and tidy. Good selection of pastries and cakes. Very welcoming, friendly and smiling staff, I recommend it.

12/05/2026: Very disappointed... there were six of us with aperitifs and wine; the hot dishes were served at the same time as the aperitifs; the prices were too high for the portions served, which were also small and the mashed potatoes were cold; we asked for bread; in the basket we received four measly pieces of bread, even though there were six of us; the waitress commented, "Finish the basket and I'll bring you more"; can't she count to six or what??; I will never return to this establishment and I think you have to play golf to be even remotely considered... it's a shame because I catered my niece's wedding there and it went very well.

30/04/2026: Excellent homemade food. Friendly and welcoming staff. Even if you don't play golf, there's no problem having lunch in a spacious and pleasant dining room.

18/05/2026: The best bakery on Île de Ré has become the worst. Its baguette is ridiculously bad in taste and texture, and its specialty breads are declining in quality every day. A disaster!

16/05/2026: Excellent bakery with quality bread and superb pastries. The service is warm and the products are always fresh. Special mention for the croissants and the traditional baguette. I highly recommend it!

25/03/2026: I loved the food and the atmosphere. Passing through Saintes, it was a wonderful discovery. They also catered for vegetarians 👍. Go for it!

26/04/2026: Nice setting, but the fries were overcooked for the price. The children's menu was also overcooked. We only dined at the restaurant and waited an hour for our main course without ordering a starter. The desserts were very good. Too expensive for what it was. I won't be back.

30/04/2026: We arrived at the end of service, but honestly, the welcome was excellent! The snails are a must-try—they're very original! The oysters are delicious, and the dessert (strawberry and mint soup) was divine! If we ever return, we will!

11/06/2026: If the sign of a good local restaurant is the sheer volume of locals, then this is a 5 star. Basic, but filling fare with buffet cold starters followed by a choice of 3 main courses. If you are passing and hungry, then go with the locals
