30/12/2025: We received a very warm welcome at this lovely little wine bar. The service was friendly and very efficient for our large table of eight; we didn't even have time to get thirsty! And we had a delicious meal to boot: excellent oysters, superb truffle ham, and good bread. It was well worth the trip.

13/10/2025: Welcomed with a smile by Arthur, the owner. A beautifully decorated room, expert advice, especially on wine, and cuisine featuring fresh, local produce. A warm, unmissable address in La Couarde, where you'll feel right at home.

12/08/2026: The oven's broken, so they serve you a microwaved croque-monsieur without telling you. Shameful! And they charge extra for a slice of lemon in a Perrier too! Another terrible scam.

25/07/2026: A truly wonderful place where you're welcomed by charming owners! I highly recommend the steak tartare, which is excellent, as well as the XL gourmet coffee. A truly delightful experience; I recommend it without hesitation.

20/08/2026: A great spot on the way to the beach. Fresh ingredients are prepared on-site. The kitchen is open to the dining area. There's a pergola on the terrace during the season.

30/08/2026: A very bad lunch. Le Cardinal des Mers used to be an institution. Our family, who had been frequenting this restaurant for decades, has unfortunately lost its luster; only the view of the sea remains enchanting. On this Sunday at the end of August, we had chosen two set menus. The price was far too high for the quality of the food. The seafood platter included lopsided oysters, which meant they had lost their liquor... a worn knife that had lost its edge... far from ideal for cutting meat, accompanied by a tiny spoonful of mashed potatoes with the sea bass... and the profiterole's choux pastry was soggy... Our meal was marred by the incessant barking of a small dog at the next table. We finally complained and were moved to another table; it wasn't very pleasant to have to move during our meal, as the dog apparently had priority! Not to mention that this dog, sitting on its owner's lap, was eating from her plate—not very hygienic at all! Dog saliva carries pathogens like E. coli or salmonella, which sometimes persist after machine washing, increasing the risk of infection for humans. And let's not even mention the cold and dismissive attitude of the management, who took our €103 payment with a perfunctory "we apologize for the inconvenience." A word to the wise: steer clear.

30/08/2026: A very pleasant surprise: the Périgord salads and poke bowls were generous, especially with a nice slice of foie gras and plenty of gizzards; the gourmet coffee was excellent and plentiful. In addition, the waitresses were very attentive. I highly recommend it.

20/08/2026: Friendly staff, excellent value for money, convenient options for those with allergies, generous and well-presented daily menu (even if it's the basic option), generous and affordable appetizer platters, brasserie-style bar with TV and pleasant background music

20/08/2026: A very good restaurant recommended by a friend. The homemade fries are a big plus, and the service is excellent, especially from the young seasonal staff. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the meat wasn't cooked perfectly—some pieces were overcooked—and the quality of the ingredients was lacking, but I expected that from a brasserie on the marina.

17/08/2026: Our experience was quite disappointing overall. The pizza dough was far too dry and had more the texture of a wheat flatbread than a proper pizza dough. It was also heavily coated in a mediocre honey, the overpowering taste of which completely masked the flavors of the chicken and cheese. The ribeye steak was cooked to our liking, which was appreciated. However, the meat was unseasoned and came with no sauce, making it rather bland. The fries, meanwhile, were soggy and clearly lacked crispness. We won't be back.

22/08/2026: We went out to eat with friends, and we had a great time. The generous and excellent dishes and the music playing on the harbor created a wonderful atmosphere. The service was quick despite a grumpy head waiter.

01/09/2026: Finally, a restaurant just the way I like them! No fries, and fresh, seasonal produce. A warm welcome and quick service. For two people, starter, main course, dessert, sparkling water, and coffees = €52. That's a little more than two McDonald's meals. Just ask the waitress for a little extra, and it arrives. A lovely surprise on our holiday road trip. We'll be back!

02/08/2026: A surprise stop at this inn, and not just a stopover! The welcome was excellent and the cuisine was perfectly executed from start to finish. Kudos to the manager and staff; we had a wonderful time.

30/08/2026: The staff are arrogant, and €10 for a coffee and orange juice? Are we in the Tuileries Gardens or something? The place is pretty, but honestly, it's really not worth the price; it's a complete rip-off!

12/07/2026: What bad luck that we ended up at this restaurant for dinner. The service was deplorable; they seemed to be laughing at us, speaking French amongst themselves. The woman running it was quite rude. We asked if six of us could eat together, and she said yes without a problem, but then it seemed like we were bothering her. Luckily, the food was decent and reasonably priced, although when we asked for the bill, it only showed the total price and not each item individually. Not recommended at all!
