27/08/2026: One star because the flavors are good, but both the manager and the sales assistant are very unfriendly. The sales assistant speaks rudely to customers without even realizing it and is condescending when we point it out. The person before me was told, "Just read the labels," to help them choose their ice cream. If you're not suited to a job that involves interacting with people, you shouldn't do it. We ordered two double ice creams, and when they were given to us, we pointed out that they were much smaller than before, but we didn't immediately realize that she hadn't made us the double ice cream we'd asked for. But once we got to the cone, we realized there was only one flavor, not the two we'd ordered. We went back to point it out and ask them to remake our ice cream as requested so we could eat both flavors together (by paying the difference). They told us no because we'd eaten more than half, but we couldn't have realized until the second scoop of mango we'd ordered was missing. The only options were to remake the ice cream but pay for it in full, or pay for a single scoop at full price, which they added to our already melted ice cream. There was no apology from either the owner, who seemed programmed to repeat, "You ate more than half, there's nothing we can do," or the saleswoman, who was more haughty than ever, and no gesture of goodwill whatsoever. We're talking about ice cream, not a €50 discount to satisfy a customer and apologize for their mistake. It's sad; we've been coming for years, and that's it for the Royan shop. So, avoid it at all costs; paying for such poor service is shameful. And I'll add that our son had a scoop of vanilla ice cream as usual, but had the beginnings of an allergic reaction 20 minutes later. There must have been a piece of nut left in the spoon used to serve it, or some residue in the vanilla container. Dangerous and unacceptable! What should have been a pleasant family moment turned into a nightmare and a source of frustration. Well done!

13/07/2026: A great little snack bar in La Pallice. La Petite Bouffe lives up to its name: simple, good, and generous portions. Friendly service, reasonable prices. No complaints, I'll definitely be back.

24/08/2026: Excellent food, but a bit pricey. The restaurant was empty the day we had lunch. The waitress was very friendly.

23/08/2026: €340 for 5 people, including aperitifs and wine. Four starters, main courses, desserts, and one main course. The appetizer platter was more like a survival meal, and the same goes for the main courses. You won't find any Ricard, Coke, or other commercial drinks. Furthermore, we were swarmed by mosquitoes even though we were in the dark. I strongly advise against going there.

13/09/2026: What a disappointment! We used to come regularly until 2016 because it was a great place. But tonight was a complete disaster: sitting by the door inside, we watched as they microwaved the tasteless dishes. How awful! Everything was deplorable: the aperitif had barely been served when the starters arrived: very ordinary smoked salmon and shredded salt cod without sorbet because they were out of it and hadn't replaced it, so it was very dry and disappointing. Then, as soon as the plates were cleared, the worst was served: boiled octopus, microwaved right in front of us, served on boiled potatoes, and three pieces of fish resembling shark, microwaved and served with ultra-dry rice. In short, it was bad, really bad. I didn't believe the bad reviews from this summer, but I can confirm them. What happened to this once-great establishment? The Gault & Millau 2026 guide is giving me serious cause for concern. Luckily the waitress was nice.

17/06/2026: We stopped at this restaurant-hotel for lunch. The meal was excellent and the owners were very friendly. At the end of the meal, they offered us a very good cognac.

02/09/2026: Forgotten (for a pint), a deserted terrace at 3 pm with the lunchtime dishes still uncleared, and two waitresses who were completely exhausted, dragging their feet and, to top it off, being unpleasant and far from welcoming! They were settling scores in front of the customers over who would do the overtime... catastrophic behavior! Luckily, there was a waiter who saved the day; he must have a tough time of it...

27/08/2026: Fantastic experience! The crepes are divine, as are the tartare and fish. The staff are incredibly attentive and efficient, and the location is charming. A must-visit in Loix.

14/08/2026: Everything was very good (salads as well as mussels marinière) and great table service.

07/08/2026: Friendly, helpful staff. However, we ordered mussels, which were unfortunately very small, even too small. On the other hand, the crème brûlée was amazing! 🤗 I'll definitely be back.
