30/12/2025: We received a very warm welcome at this lovely little wine bar. The service was friendly and very efficient for our large table of eight; we didn't even have time to get thirsty! And we had a delicious meal to boot: excellent oysters, superb truffle ham, and good bread. It was well worth the trip.

13/10/2025: Welcomed with a smile by Arthur, the owner. A beautifully decorated room, expert advice, especially on wine, and cuisine featuring fresh, local produce. A warm, unmissable address in La Couarde, where you'll feel right at home.

15/07/2026: We came to see the World Cup match: mission accomplished, nice video projector, pleasant indoor venue. The outdoor setting was lovely. The meal was reasonably priced, though the selection was limited. None of the dishes really appealed to me; I ordered the very "industrial" hot dog. The "reel" style tables were inconvenient. All of this could have been compensated for by the service, but it wasn't: our waitress wasn't relaxed enough. The other servers were very good.

21/07/2026: We were just passing by. We had a meeting nearby and were looking for a place to have a drink and a bite to eat. So we ordered a platter with some delicious shellfish, enough for two people, and homemade tuna rillettes. A small beer from Île de Ré and we were all set. Kudos to our two waitresses, who were very pleasant and helpful.

11/06/2026: If the sign of a good local restaurant is the sheer volume of locals, then this is a 5 star. Basic, but filling fare with buffet cold starters followed by a choice of 3 main courses. If you are passing and hungry, then go with the locals

18/07/2026: We came for dinner on a Friday evening as a couple. The evening began very pleasantly with an aperitif that lived up to our expectations. The view is beautiful, and the overall ambiance and setting are truly delightful! However, we were disappointed by the service and the meal as a whole. Firstly, the menus differed between the online menu and the menu in the restaurant. Specifically, the foie gras was extremely sinewy and very bland, and the chocolate mousse was runny and warm. The service was disorganized, with a very long wait (25 minutes for the bill, which we asked for three times, with staff present but chatting amongst themselves, plus coffee served after the bill was paid), and poorly organized for the restaurant's stated positioning. There was a musician playing, but the volume made conversation impossible at the table (a shame). In the end, despite a high-quality salmon gravlax and beef fillet, we left disappointed and without any desire to return.

04/07/2026: A great restaurant three courses for 13.90€. The food is delicious buffet to start with lots of choice. Normally a choice of 2/3 main courses & dessert. Quickly becoming my favourite place to eat

14/06/2026: At the marina. Seen from the boats. Some unpleasant smells coming from the port, but that's just part of the sea sometimes. Basic meal, nothing extraordinary. Simple, efficient. Nothing more.

30/07/2026: Really like this pub. A little off the beaten track in La Rochelle. Plays excellent rock music. Soundgarden, Deftones, Tool etc. Lovely beers. Sound staff.
