12/04/2026: The Superior room we booked was not in any way superior. The hotel feels very dated, having none of the chic that we experienced around the region in other hotels on our week tour. We stayed in far better rooms in far better hotels for a lot less, therefore this felt disappointing. The room was bland, consisting of white wood chip walls and grey furniture- the wardrobe looked like Draculas coffin! There was a telephone in the room but no tea or coffee facilities. Why put a phone in a room but not a kettle or a coffee machine? That’s not very superior. The bathroom was also bland, but clean. The shower had no power, just a trickle. Disappointingly, the river tranquil view was spoiled by traffic noise.

14/02/2026: Excellent restaurant; we had the set menu for around €17. Delicious dishes, the soup was good, and everything was homemade. The starter buffet was small but adequate. We'll definitely go back. However, you should book in advance or arrive early.

27/01/2026: A nice little restaurant, unpretentious. Parking is fairly easy, the service is very good, and the dishes are simple but well-presented and very tasty. The daily menu consists of a buffet of starters (fairly average), two main courses to choose from (fish or meat: both very good), and a dessert from the classics you'd find in a restaurant (standard but perfectly acceptable). If you're a group, remember to book ahead 😉 I recommend this place: friendly, decent, and budget-friendly.

19/12/2025: Voted the 3rd best bakery in the Dordogne. This highly honorable ranking is very well deserved, given the strong competition. It's worth noting that those involved were unaware of this ranking until now. Congratulations to the bakers, pastry chefs, and sales staff.

17/12/2025: I'm giving it zero stars. I bought a Paris-Brest for 4 euros, and in my opinion, that's expensive for a stick of margarine. It's sickening; the margarine taste is way too strong. I would have preferred a praline mousseline cream, like they make these days, instead of a pint of hazelnut fat. Disgusting.

01/03/2026: We dined at this restaurant on the recommendation of a colleague. The setting is very pleasant, and the dish was decent, except for the vegetarian aioli. Reducing the price by €1 compared to the meat or fish versions doesn't seem like good value for money. The chef was very friendly and made sure everyone was served properly, all by himself! Well done! It's a shame the waitress was so cold and formal in her approach, but there was also a very attentive young waiter.

17/02/2026: I was very disappointed with my stay. The hotel is poorly maintained; there was no secure lock on the door. The water barely worked, and the price was ridiculously high for just one night. Definitely not worth it. Furthermore, I was overcharged for breakfast, which included a truly awful croissant.

27/03/2026: Honestly, a very warm and friendly welcome. The apprentice (Tony) was fantastic, just as good as the rest of the team. The food was delicious and high-quality, featuring regional products (even the apples! 😉). A great find.

17/09/2025: A great place to stop for lunch after visiting the market. Between us, we had omelette, mussels, chicken and beef burgers, and we all enjoyed our meals. We sat in the barn, out the back. Prices are very good, about 16 Euros each without alcoholic drinks. Thoroughly recommended.

26/01/2026: I really enjoyed it, and the owner was welcoming; she came to chat with us even though it was our first time there. I recommend it.

07/01/2026: While my presence in the morning hadn't bothered the rather grumpy owner too much, the evening shift snubbed me when I simply asked for a glass of water in addition to the drinks I'd already ordered and received at my table. I just didn't pay immediately because she'd left too quickly. At the very end, seeing me preparing to leave, neatly putting my things away and barely having risen from my seat, she pointed out, even before I looked up and after I'd politely said "goodbye," and even before I'd made a move to leave through the door of her establishment, she said, and I quote, "Uh, but you have to pay, sir!" with a pout that clearly indicated she expected me not to pay. Tough luck, I always settle my debts, and I told her I would have been back the next day, especially since I had indeed planned to return, even though she didn't believe me. So here I am, a thief and a liar to boot! And this despite the fact that I was planning to spend the entire following week exploring the region while I was staying nearby! I thanked her, sincerely apologized, explaining that it had completely slipped my mind (to pay; with the end of the year approaching, my responsibilities as a dog handler, the ongoing partial management of my family, and so on), and paid for the drinks (almost the same as in the morning: 4 euros for the espresso and the kiwi diabolo, not forgetting the tip for her trouble). I left. Then, after a few steps, I decided to turn around immediately. I came back to tell her about my thirst and the glasses of water I never received, and that despite all this and her insulting and disrespectful attitude towards me, I was hesitant to return the next day. She was utterly contemptuous. So I left, saying, "See you tomorrow!" What she said to me behind my back as I was walking through the door towards Martyrs' Square across the street was, and I quote: "Goodbye forever." To which I immediately replied, pointing my fingers at her so she'd better watch out. She's completely unintelligent. And he's hardly any better than her. NEXT TIME, PLEASE MAKE ME PAY FOR ALL THE DRINKS I BUY BEFORE I even consume them; it would avoid this kind of hassle, frankly! Especially since you don't know me from Adam and have never seen me before. And one last thing: take good care of yourself... Have a wonderful holiday anyway, I imagine. Here are a few photos of the place, out of appreciation for a large and well-located establishment and out of respect for a wonderful city and its more than lovely inhabitants, except for them, for now! Too bad. For your information, I'm neurodivergent, so like everyone else, as the end of the year approaches, I can sometimes get a little overworked. That's absolutely no reason to let myself be insulted and disrespected in the slightest! I even left a tip after, of course, paying for the service, which included welcoming me, serving me, and accommodating my dog ​​and me for a total of 3.5 hours throughout the day; so it's only fair to pay for such service!
