20/08/2026: We stumbled upon this place while looking for a restaurant to eat at. Seeing the reviews, we decided to give it a try. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but there's actually another terrace. The service was warm and friendly. The portions were generous. And the food was homemade, which is rare these days. I recommend it.

04/06/2026: A new restaurant for us to try. Tucked away in a tiny village serving wonderful French food and a selection of very good local wines. I booked for a Wednesday evening. First impressions; tiny village with a privately owned chateau. It's situated opposite the village hall. We parked there but there is parking for the restaurant outside the front. It's really a traditional French restaurant, dark, exposed beams with a small bar area and probably 25 covers. The menu had just changed, not extensive, a choice of four starters, four main dishes and four desserts. I chose artichokes in a mushroom sauce and my wife goats cheese in filo pastry, main dishes, sweet breads in a wonderful cream sauce and salmon, desserts creme brulee. For those English who are squeamish about sweetbreads try these, they were fantastic. We also ordered a bottle of Pecharmant. The owner was chatty and his wife is the chef. The only downside and this is a real shame is that we were the only two in the restaurant. Since Covid many village restaurants are really struggling. If local people, ex pats and tourists who are interested in wonderful food don't support them they'll dissappear. We have now compiled a list of outstanding local restaurants, small but what we consider some of the best local produce cooked to perfection. If you, like us want wonderful French food try this restaurant, you won't be disappointed. Would we go again? Absolutely.

20/07/2026: Perfect for a motorcycle road trip stopover A huge thank you to Séverine and her husband for their exceptional hospitality! They are incredibly kind hosts, always friendly and smiling. The accommodation is impeccable: clean, equipped with air conditioning (a real plus!), and we took advantage of the option to have the sheets made upon arrival. Special mention for the very comfortable bedding! The setting is a true haven of peace: a lush and relaxing environment surrounded by nature, with sheep (that look like goats 🤣), chickens, and a small pond. The swimming pool is perfect for cooling off at any time of day, while respecting everyone's privacy (peace and quiet guaranteed in the evening). As for dining, everything is on-site, which is a real bonus: The restaurant offers excellent value for money; we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Breakfast (at an extra cost) was just as good. Even though, being true Charentais Maritime locals, for us butter is semi-salted 😍 A special shout-out to the bikers ✌️: We were on a motorcycle road trip and the place is 100% perfect. The setting is completely safe and we were able to park our bikes right next to the accommodation to keep an eye on them. The hosts perfectly understand our needs (to the point of even taking the owner for a short ride to the accommodation!). Perhaps a future biker haven? Bonus: We always capture our road trips on video, especially with a drone. The owners allowed us to take off for a few minutes to immortalize our stay (we're sharing the footage with you). Thank you to them and our neighbors for allowing us. Thanks again for this wonderful stay, we'll definitely be back!

13/07/2026: A fantastic, calm, and relaxing setting, with free-roaming chickens and sheep – a truly peaceful moment. We were welcomed by a lovely young couple. The owner, besides her smile and kindness, sets the tone for the entire stay. Four superb nights in a very clean, quiet mobile home facing the lake and its fruit trees – COOL! The paella was very generous and delicious. The only slight downside was that the owner was a bit grumpy; we'll chalk it up to stress. Nevertheless, we'll definitely be back – a beautiful place that we highly recommend! 😉😉 Mr. and Mrs. Auger

08/08/2026: We've been several times, we've had the weekday set menu, the weekday set menu with an extra dish, and the Sunday set menu. I'd take them all; good food, good service, and a good atmosphere.

In a simple, warm, and welcoming setting, each meal becomes a wonderful opportunity to gather around good food and a genuine spirit of sharing.

17/08/2026: What an incredibly nice bar and ice cream shop this is. We only bought an ice cream here and it was delicious. The price is also just a bit lower than the surrounding ice cream shops. The owner is very friendly and serves a great portion of ice cream. If you are in Montignac, getting an ice cream here is highly recommended.

22/11/2025: A delightful surprise! A charming little hotel with old-world appeal, very comfortable, impeccable service, helpful staff, and a very generous breakfast... Ideally located just a few minutes from Sarlat. We would definitely return!

10/09/2026: Had a delicious meal. Super tasty pizzas at reasonable prices. Highly recommended if you are in Sarlat.

05/09/2026: The terrace is very well located on the main square. The service is excellent and the food is truly delicious.

26/08/2026: I do not recommend this place. We waited 20 minutes before asking the waitress to take our order. There were only a few tables; two other tables also had to ask for their orders to be taken. After 50 minutes, I told the waitress that it was getting long for two set menus and two main courses. She replied, "Well, you'll have to wait, there are still two tables ahead of you, and we're short-staffed." I said okay. After an hour, we left, especially since I had told them when making the reservation that it was my son's birthday. Several of us left. I don't think that's right, and of course, they didn't forget to charge us for the Coke and iced tea we drank... a disgrace.

25/08/2026: We stopped by L'Antre Potes in mid-August for lunch. It's a nice little restaurant; the food is good and the staff is welcoming. Despite a hiccup in service—the children's menu was forgotten and therefore served late—the owner acknowledged the mistake and made a kind gesture. Not everyone makes such a gesture after a hiccup, it's worth noting! We'll be back.

25/08/2026: We went there on a Sunday at lunchtime... A very warm welcome. Lovely decor. Good location next to the village's Romanesque church. Inventive and delicious cuisine: We started with a homemade terrine and a Nitamago egg on celery cream. Then came Hungarian-style pork goulash and roasted Camembert with chorizo ​​and homemade fries. For dessert 🍨, a very light and delicious coffee tiramisu! A very good place.

08/08/2026: Beware the restaurant has changed hands. They kept the name and reviews, from the previous owner. The staff are great, very friendly unfortunately the fish and chips we had were supermarket oven chips and fish from the freezer section. Not restaurant food.
