14/04/2026: We had lunch at Jardin des Consuls today, and all four of us were delighted.
A tip… go for the Consuls' Menu at €34.90… The foie gras starter and the cassoulet are both delicious and generous portions, and the panna cotta with plant-based cream for dessert is a real treat!
We started our meal in the courtyard, but as the sun wasn't yet strong or very warm, our waiter Coco (the lovely Coco ;-)) suggested we finish our meal on their street terrace, and it was perfect! We highly recommend it!

18/09/2025: Pretty, inviting, restaurant by the cathedral. Proprietor very welcoming even almost at close of day. Served four adults with superbly prepared fresh dishes, despite at their closing hour we were not rushed, indeed encouraged to enjoy the moment.
We discovered the owner has a restaurant in Bergerac too, directly by the Cyrano statue.
Thankyou for superb service, food and kindly generosity.
13/09/2025: I had an amazing experience at this restaurant, thanks to the exceptional service provided by the hospitable staff and owner. They kindly showed us how to make crepes, generously adding a large portion of Nutella and Chantilly cream for us to share. The omelette aux cèpes was fantastic, and both the salad and pizza were spot on! Highly recommend this place for its warm atmosphere and delicious food.

01/01/2026: The kitchen of this restaurant was closed by the veterinary services of the Prefecture due to poor hygiene and sanitation, and the presence of pests. Avoid it.
02/12/2025: It's never been closed, contrary to what Maps says. The kitchen is temporarily closed, but the bar remains open. Clean place, good service, and a good atmosphere. Maybe the best café in the area.

06/04/2026: Charming, peaceful spot on the banks of the Dronne. Traditional cuisine, regional dishes. One set menu, but everything can be ordered à la carte.
05/04/2026: The food was passable, bordering on mediocre. We ordered salads (average) and duck confit, which was reheated and tasteless. However, the worst thing by far was the time we spent eating. We arrived at 12:35 and left almost at 3:00 PM, even though it wasn't peak season. Far too long.

16/11/2025: We arrived twice right after opening, at 2:45 PM for a 3:00 PM opening. Both times we were told to expect a wait of over an hour, even though reservations aren't possible. The staff was quickly overwhelmed and almost rude. So both times we ended up going across the street to the laser tag arena.

One small drawback, however: the hotel parking is very limited. Fortunately, there are city parking lots right next door… but only if they aren't full…

19/04/2026: A very nice aquarium for a family visit with young children. It's a mix of aquarium and reptile park, with part of the visit taking place outdoors. There are some unusual species. Those who criticize the lack of water clarity and the supposed dirtiness of the aquariums clearly haven't understood that it's not due to a lack of maintenance during their visit. I recommend it, even if it's not the best aquarium; it's still worth a visit.

The children love it
13/04/2026: I am deeply disappointed by my recent experience. My memories of this establishment were much more positive, and I now understand the reasons for its decline.
I was forced to mop up the excess oil from my fish and chips, the quality of which left much to be desired.
The all-you-can-eat food selection is extremely limited. I left feeling nauseous and I have no intention of returning.

The meal was decent, but the ingredients weren't fresh.
The service left much to be desired.
We won't be returning.
