Steak limousine was amazing (I didn't eat beef for the last 6 years, and this one was just wow), pasta so-so (unfortunately, in France pasta always overcooked). But I liked this place, and if we visit this city again, surely we'll visit this restaurant again.

06/05/2024: The pastries are delicious, especially the brownies and almond cake. I also tried the pizzas and the very good hot dishes, also quiches or paninis and original choice of ingredients so atypical sandwiches are a change from the buttered hams of other brands. The boss has a lot of humor which doesn't spoil anything. Fair prices, I go there quite regularly, especially for pastries and desserts.

14/03/2024: A small sandwich shop found on the street leading to the Palais des Ducs and recognizable by its sign displaying a humorous message that always brings a smile. The window is loaded with numerous dishes to enjoy on the go, including a whole range of sandwiches as well as small desserts ranging from donuts to cannelés to slices of cake. The vast majority of products are homemade and prepared with ingredients delivered by local producers. A guarantee of quality that deserves to be highlighted in the case of a modest brand. The advantage of this business is undoubtedly the quality of the products. This is widely accessible thanks to the order placed with the "formula" allowing a reduction of one euro on the total price. A purchase that pleases both our palate and our wallet.

09/09/2024: Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Great value for money. Would highly recommend. Some really interesting variations on known dishes - loved the sauce on the confit👍 the spiced bread with the foie gras was delicious.

29/08/2024: This lovely eatery managed to fit us in after we had been diverted through the region due to a car crash on one of the larger roads. A chef from a pizzeria in a neighbouring village could not fit us in for lunch but kindly called the owner of L'Escalier. The owner was friendly and the waiting staff incredibly friendly. They spoke to us in a mixture of French and English. They offered a bespoke sharing tapas style starter for the children and then divided a lovely beef main course between them. We ordered the beef too and my wife the tuna steak. The food was delicious, the service fast and friendly. A lovely pit stop! Thank you so much. x

25/09/2024: We were a group of 40 people and had an evening meal in this restaurant during our stay in Sarlat We appreciated: - the menu, duck confit with orange and fine apple tart, accompanied by Bergerac. Very good cuisine. - the very beautiful upstairs room (served by an elevator) and the arrangement of the tables - and above all the welcome, availability and professionalism of the staff

24/09/2024: We chose this place for its magnificent patio, quiet and a little away from the street. For dinner, we can only share with you our disappointment: Foie gras as a very bland starter, so I asked for fleur de sel which I was unable to obtain..., so I ate it as it was. what! Following the risotto: Which only had the name (very dry and tasteless) We didn't even finish it. To finish, a lemon tart, which can be found in all the local pastry shops. So disappointed!!! However, the place was charming and recommended by the owner of our hotel.

21/09/2024: Agréable surprise dans ce restaurant choisi au hasard...excellent menu, simple, très belle présentation et très bon. Super service, pro et souriant. Très bon rapport qualité prix, nous sommes pourtant sur du semi gastro... J'ai lu un commentaire précédant et confirme que c'est un ramassis d'inepties, ayant mangé la même chose... Encore un qui mérite d'aller manger qqles mois du sorgo en Afrique...

24/08/2024: We visited on the last night of our holiday and wish we had found it earlier! The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The setting is beautiful and worth the drive. Our teenage boys were able to go for a wander to explore the nearby weir. If we are lucky enough to return to the area again we will definitely be back.

27/07/2024: Passé par le plus grand des hasards, nous nous sommes arrêtés pour notre plus grand plaisir à ce restaurant ! La carte n'est pas grande mais chaque met que nous avons retrouvé dans nos assiettes était un délice ! Pour terminer, nous avons pris le dessert de la maison, une giboulée de framboise qui est juste un délice pour les papilles... A recommander !

01/09/2024: While traveling in Boulazac with my parents I had reserved a table in this restaurant....a mega great discovery so much so that we returned there in the evening, charming little restaurant in a super beautiful village, the dishes were top notch, Flambiche pizza and 4 cheese pizza, full plate for lunch and Viking salad, Perigourdine salad, Cesar salad in the evening followed by a brioche perdu, just impeccable service. Very pleasant owner with her humor, a joy! I would go back there with my eyes closed of course I recommend it 200%, it's that kind of restaurant that you have to work with Good luck Golden Apple
