13/08/2026: This has never happened to me before, and I do try out a lot of restaurants. We arrived, I had a reservation for two. The welcome was quite slow, but the waitress was overwhelmed, but let's not dwell on that. We sat down, she took care of one table, and a chalkboard with the daily menu for the whole restaurant was put out, which lengthened the wait. She took the chalkboard from the next table and told us there were other tables ahead of us, she'd come after. Okay, fine. I asked her if we could still order drinks or a carafe of water. I was with an elderly person, it was hot, and she would at least like to have some water. She replied, "Yes, well, later when I take your order." At that point, I felt really uncomfortable. The chalkboard finally arrived after 20 minutes, and I saw chicken drumstick or brandade. She arrived to take the order. We'd already been waiting 30 minutes. I asked her if there was another menu or a daily special, because I eat drumsticks and brandade at home and I'd like to try something different. She replied, in an unpleasant tone, "The menu is only available in the evening. As for the daily specials, we don't have everything; we had a party yesterday!" Okay, fine, I understand. What do you have? Well, tell me what you want and I'll tell you if I have it. It would be simpler to just tell me what's available! So I finally chose. She replied, "It'll take longer, but it's fine, we have what you want." I told her, "At this point, we're done." She took the order and left. I went to the restroom, and that's when I was accosted, even harassed, by the cook and the waitress, who looked at me and asked, "Is that her?" The waitress said yes. The "Is that her?" comment while looking at me didn't go down well. She told me that if I wasn't happy, I could eat drumsticks and brandade at home and leave. I explained that I had indeed said that, and that's why I had chosen something else from the suggestions. I also asked if I could repeat what I'd said, looking at the waitress, to make sure it was repeated correctly. Then the cook told me, "Anyway, you're on vacation, you're not working, so you can wait!" Yes, I could wait; it's happened to me often, but with more pleasant staff who don't get offended as soon as someone asks a question. Even at the table next to us, where other customers were asking questions, I found her tone so unpleasant. And she offered a carafe of water, because we mustn't forget that there was an elderly person at the table, over 80 years old, and it was very hot. So, I got really angry, grabbed my things, my mother, and we left. And the worst part is, with such a lack of respect, he laughed and said, "Have a good afternoon!" Avoid at all costs! And a special shout-out to the gentleman in his fifties wearing a red t-shirt who, I must say, possesses remarkable maturity. He stirred things up by going over to the waitress and telling her about a private conversation he had with my mother regarding the disorganization of the service, without which I think none of this would have happened!

12/08/2026: I went there during the flea market, but there was no one there because of the weather, which is a shame.

11/09/2026: The meal was very good. The owner was extremely friendly. We recommend this place.

21/08/2026: Beautiful place to eat, but the dishes were overcooked, and the dessert portion (walnut tart) was ridiculously small. The servers were friendly, but the wait between the appetizer and the main course was 35 minutes. Far too long, especially considering that other people who arrived after us were served before us.

19/11/2025: We went there on a Wednesday at lunchtime. We had a table on the terrace. It's a simple set menu, but homemade and very good. The place seems to be run by British people. A very warm welcome. The location is very pleasant, right in the center of the village with its white Dordogne stone houses. A great find! After several visits, the food is always just as good and hearty. You should also go for the British atmosphere on holidays and special events! Speaking English is a nice touch. We loved it!

09/09/2025: Frankly, forcing customers to pay in cash is pathetic... It says it all... The service is mediocre and the amenities...

05/05/2026: A very welcoming establishment, impeccable service at the bar from the owner who is very friendly and always has a warm smile, and enjoyable afternoons playing board games which are quite popular. The atmosphere is truly pleasant and makes you want to come back! Keep up the good work, it's fantastic!

24/04/2026: A few rather unpleasant customers, a somewhat moody owner... And besides, you can't just crush a customer's dreams. People come here looking for a little comfort... which isn't always the case...

06/08/2026: The welcome was rather cold. The waitress didn't seem very friendly, which made us feel unwelcome. I hope this feeling wasn't just our appearance 😕. It's a shame, because a warmer, more respectful welcome would make a big difference. On the other hand, their matcha is very good, which is a plus.

09/09/2026: We ate or simply drank there... A very beautiful place, but also and above all, a close-knit, attentive team. If you're part of it, whether closely or remotely, it's a true family. The servers, cooks, and owner are exceptional in their kindness and support. You don't see that anywhere else. Behind every order or tray placed on your table, there's a beautiful soul, led by a fatherly, benevolent, incredibly humane, and efficient owner. Thank you.

09/09/2026: This is the second time I've left this brasserie without being served after 20 minutes... Once on the terrace in early August, and again today at 5:08 PM inside while the bar and waiters were chatting and laughing in front of my table. The waiter, clearly wanting to make fun of me, probably thought it was hilarious to call out "Goodbye, Madam," but unfortunately, I don't share that sense of humor... I'd be curious to know if the manager of this posh establishment appreciates the behavior of his afternoon staff?

23/08/2026: Lunch today, despite our late arrival and the fact that it was very busy, they welcomed us with smiles and good cheer and found us a table by the water in record time. The €35 set menu was varied and excellent, the prices very reasonable, and the service impeccable. Finally, something that's becoming rare: a smiling, young, and very professional team. So it was perfect and highly recommended. We'll be back. Thank you for this delightful experience.

21/08/2026: A very warm welcome from the pleasant servers. The wait was reasonable, giving us plenty of time to enjoy our meal. The portions were generous and delicious (I had the Périgord salad) and the choux pastry for dessert was crispy. I highly recommend this establishment, especially with its river view.

08/09/2026: Authentic café/restaurant. You can come here on the square for a drink or a lovely lunch.

19/07/2026: Superb, authentic setting. Excellent welcome, kindness, and friendliness. The products are made on-site using produce from the farm. The quality is exceptional. I highly recommend it if you are in Périgueux and the surrounding area.

16/08/2026: I called to place a takeout order at 1 p.m., and before I could even get a word in edgewise, the man on the phone told me, "We're not taking any more orders, we're full, goodbye," and hung up. He didn't even bother to ask what we wanted to order (quantity). Oh well, we went to the restaurant next door, which was friendly and helpful.

14/08/2026: What a treat! Duck breast, confit, pizzas, desserts—not a single flaw, including the children's menu! We will gladly return every year to enjoy the brilliantly prepared dishes. Bravo!

05/08/2026: Great spot, with excellent coffee and ice-creams. Decent prices and well-looked after. We'll be back!

31/07/2026: A superb experience at this tea room! The iced tea and the slice of chocolate/banana/speculoos tart were sumptuous. Everything was fresh, deliciously made, and served in a lovely setting! I highly recommend it! Bonus: the main room is air-conditioned!
