However: the room was outdated, the floorboards creaked, the walls were very thin resulting in a lot of noise in the morning, the bathroom was poorly maintained, there was no shower curtain, the hot water was difficult to regulate, and the storage was unstable. In short, it was acceptable for one night, but the price is clearly excessive for the services offered.

14/05/2026: I stumbled upon this little restaurant by the lake and, despite the rainy weather, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere very pleasant, and the staff were fantastic. I highly recommend this establishment.

27/10/2025: A simple, family-run restaurant, just the way we like it! The welcome is warm. The menu is simple. The dishes are generous. Homemade, delicious. Starter/main course/dessert and a drink. A treat for everyone, while staying reasonable. Visited with family: 2 adults and 3 children.

07/10/2025: We are Canadians cycling the Loire for two weeks. This restaurant was a big surprise from most of the places we have eaten at for lunch. There is a chef putting the menu together. It was creative and delicious. The owner spoke good English and had a good sense of home. Thank you.

17/05/2026: Excellent value for money. Very good breakfast, the cheese platter is a nice touch. A slight scare upon arrival due to no one being there to greet us, but everything was quickly sorted out.

12/05/2026: We had booked 6 months in advance with a box, the hotel was full but the owner had thought of everything and relocated us to a gîte, a real haven of peace, very beautiful setting, nothing to see, pleasant owner and the staff of the hotel du faisan very welcoming.

07/07/2026: How has everyone not given this place 5 stars?? This was an exceptional meal and truly the definition of farm to table. All of our food was cooked perfectly and the flavors were complex. The food was hearty but we didn’t leave feeling too full or heavy. Everything we ate came directly from the farm and you could tell. The freshness was unmatched. It was the most relaxing lunch with the perfect amount of time between the courses. Also, don’t skip on their wine! The bottle of Cabernet Franc we enjoyed from their grapes was the perfect pairing for our food and was fresh, juicy, and bright. A friend of ours told us this restaurant was a “must stop” and he was right. If you’re in the area, it is well worth the visit, you won’t be disappointed.

18/05/2026: We made a reservation a week before our arrival, and at the appointed time, there were no tables available on a Sunday lunchtime, which was also the birthday of one of our guests. This is not very reasonable or customer-friendly, and there was no solution offered.

16/05/2026: We were very disappointed with our experience at Le Jardin des Roches restaurant. To begin with, the positive point: the waitress was pleasant, smiling, and offered good advice. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to make up for the rest. As for the meal, the foie gras was completely bland, without any seasoning. Honestly, it tasted like butter, tasteless and devoid of character. The seven-hour leg of lamb was served in a minuscule portion: a small ball of meat, acceptable but far from exceptional, accompanied by barely two spoonfuls of vegetables. The cheese plate looked more like a selection bought at a supermarket than a true gourmet restaurant offering. As for the desserts, they clearly tasted like they had been defrosted and were unremarkable. Another major drawback: the dining room. It was so cold that we had to keep our coats on during the meal. The windows near our table were dirty, which reinforced the overall impression of neglect. And all this for over €100 for two… plus, we still felt hungry when we left the restaurant. Even worse: stomach pain all night after the meal, which also explains this review. Finally, the chef spent most of his time chatting with customers near the kitchen rather than inspiring confidence in the quality and freshness of the food served. An experience we absolutely do not recommend.

17/05/2026: The food was okay, but nothing special, the prices were very high, and the desserts were definitely frozen (at €9.50, that's pushing it). The welcome was inconsistent depending on the customer (some were offered to "take your coat," while others weren't). Furthermore, the service was rather poor: the waiter didn't clear the cutlery between the starter and main course, there was no interaction, and again, the prices were very high for a set menu with few choices and no flexibility whatsoever. I do not recommend this restaurant.

13/06/2026: Returning to this traditional restaurant after a long absence from the region, I was very pleasantly surprised by Me Terminus. The dining room has been renovated in a retro style, the food is excellent, the waiter was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. Yes, it's a place you can go to with complete confidence.

03/07/2026: When you eat at Le Vouvrillon, you have a choice of two starters, two main courses, and I think two or three desserts. That's a guarantee of fresh food! It's always well-prepared. Orders are taken quickly, and the service is too. The owner is incredibly friendly! There's a lovely shaded terrace with trees and parasols.

26/06/2026: The owner is lucky: he doesn't have to accommodate any guests in his empty restaurant. He turned me away twice. You can get away with that when you don't need to make money.
