04/06/2026: It's very basic but clean. Tiny bathroom and a few funny smells from time to time.Lots of rules, breakfast has to be ordered the day before. There is very little else in the village so you need a car to be able to get around and eat out etc.

03/06/2026: The hotel manager gave me every opportunity to get my breakfast to go.

18/08/2026: Terrace setting was nice and no issue with service. Adult food was fine, good value. They had no steak hache and replacement was chicken breast and potatoes with no sauce or any vegetables which wasn't great.

17/08/2026: A scandal. A salad with four ingredients in the bottom of a shallow bowl for 17 euros. Dressing worthy of a supermarket. It could be considered a starter in other restaurants. A glass of Chablis for 10 euros, a price not mentioned when ordering. I pointed this out to the so-called chef, the one collecting the bill, who didn't even bother to ask me what I didn't like so he could pass the information along, and of course, no apology. The customer is no longer king in the Loire Valley!

21/06/2026: A galette restaurant not far from the center of Tours. The galettes are gluten-free (made with buckwheat flour), and you can also order a crêpe with galette dough for dessert. It's a small, quiet place with good service. I was there in 2023 and really enjoyed it, so I returned in 2026. This time it was incredibly hot, and it was great that they had air conditioning, as other places in Tours didn't, and there it was a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius!

22/08/2026: Passing through Chinon, we stopped there with two children. The children's menu is truly excellent and generous. They thoroughly enjoyed the fresh, well-prepared food (homemade nuggets). The meat was just as good for children as it was for adults. The burger was very good, and the chocolate mousse and tiramisu were excellent. Don't hesitate to stop by.

17/08/2026: Fabulous! Top-notch service. Generous, flavorful, and delicious cuisine. A set menu for €22 👌 Crepes made fresh to order at the counter. The must-visit spot in Chinon.

28/08/2026: The room is very beautiful and clean, and the balcony is stunning! However, the bathroom needs updating; the floor tiles are coming loose. A big thumbs up for the four coat hooks, which provide plenty of space for clothes! Also great is the small white cabinet for toiletries. The location is also excellent.

24/08/2026: Despite its lack of modern amenities (worn carpet, faded wallpaper, minimal insulation), the hotel possesses a certain old-fashioned charm. A listed historical monument in the heart of Loches, the owners are delightful and have been trying to keep the business afloat since 2016 (numerous legal issues have prevented the renovation work from being carried out).

12/05/2026: I have eaten there more than 40 times already. Very good value for money; Bruno is a good cook. They are known for their fish dishes. His wife welcomes everyone warmly. Children's menu available. Also "plat du jour" at a reasonable price.

28/04/2026: We enjoyed a lovely meal before our family visit to the castle 🏰. The waiter was very pleasant, energetic, and welcoming. Everything was perfect from the appetizer to the dessert. The wines and soft drinks (artisanal and locally made) were excellent. We recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

28/04/2026: Excellent, very warm atmosphere - impeccable service, a big thank you to the waiter for his contagious joie de vivre - and very good food, all on a lovely, very pleasant terrace just steps from the castle, the perfect stop just before or just after a superb visit!

31/08/2026: A very disappointing experience. We came to this establishment with good intentions, but the welcome and service were particularly poor. The waitress, Sylvie (who boasts of 37 years of experience), was unpleasant from beginning to end. Her attitude was cold, dismissive, and frankly malicious. She made numerous small gestures and remarks to make us uncomfortable and push us to leave… all under the watchful eye of her manager, who said and did nothing; her only concern was taking the money. We also noticed that she was harsh and disrespectful towards the younger servers. This kind of behavior has no place in an establishment that aims to be welcoming. As long as this person remains employed, the tea room risks losing many customers. It's a shame, because the setting could have been pleasant. Avoid it for now.
