02/09/2026: Very disappointing since the change of ownership… Save your bowls of frozen fries that look like nothing and arrive long after the main course… plate up a proper meal like before, with decent quantity and flavor. The service is far too slow; we waited 20 minutes for a carafe of water once we were seated. Your servers should be more versatile. Those serving aperitifs can't take orders, so we wait another 20 minutes. No bread… no sauce… cold coffee. I won't be back.

04/09/2026: You really shouldn't be picky to eat at this place. It's a bistro frequented by tourists in the summer. The terrace was closed, and there was a long queue. The food is really low-end, but that's in line with the low price. It's always packed. It's too noisy. If you're looking for something quiet with good food, keep walking. If you're just passing through and really hungry, then go, but only as a last resort.

27/05/2026: I came to eat last Sunday. It was the first time I'd ever eaten alone in a restaurant, and I have a very bad memory of it. I ordered the two-smoked salad with duck breast and smoked trout: a huge disappointment. I started eating and discovered about ten bugs in the salad; it's unacceptable. I told them, and they apologized by bringing me a second salad. I decided to check the salad just in case, and I discovered that it was also infested with bugs! I've included photos as proof (the black spots on the salad). It's completely unacceptable; I don't even want to imagine the hygiene in the kitchen. I didn't even dare order another course. They brought me a glass of champagne as an apology, and I even paid for the single scoop of ice cream that served as my meal. It's shameful!

22/05/2026: The setting is lovely for a pleasant break. However, we had an unpleasant experience with the waiter who brought our order back with a bloody finger – not very professional. There was a drop of blood on the table, as well as on our glasses and ice cream. Not very professional at all.

27/08/2026: A must-visit spot in Dole, it offers a superb view of Little Venice, and the cocktails are great. The snacks are worth trying. Friendly staff, lovely interior atmosphere.

19/08/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A lovely break at Café Charles after our walk! We enjoyed a delicious ice cream in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. With a wheelchair and a stroller, the welcome and accessibility were much appreciated. A lovely place to relax and refresh after a nice walk. We'll gladly come back! 😊

28/08/2026: We received a very warm welcome and chose a beef fillet, cooked rare, with a green peppercorn sauce. The portions were generous, hearty, and delicious. The prices were reasonable.

26/08/2026: As for the food, I don't have much to say, but the servers are a different story. The waitress who served us, Marion, was really unfriendly, and when we placed our order, she left in the middle of it, so we had to call her back to finish it. We waited at least 20 minutes for our table to be cleared. Another waitress, probably the owner, took our dessert order, and she wasn't friendly either.

05/03/2026: If you want to eat a good burger, you can go there with your eyes closed; it's delicious, fresh, and the combinations are well thought out. However, I find them a little pricey! But as they say, quality comes at a price. I look forward to coming back to Lons to eat your burgers!

14/08/2026: A wonderful discovery! The Menthe Sauvage bakery offers delicious, fresh, and high-quality products. Everything looks tempting, with wonderful flavors and true expertise. The welcome is warm and the place is very pleasant. An excellent address in Lons-le-Saunier that I recommend without hesitation!

03/09/2026: During our visit on September 3, 2026, we had the very unpleasant surprise of finding maggots in our dish. We had chosen the chef's special, "Morbiflette with Vin Jaune," which, according to the owner, was made with fresh, local ingredients. We informed him immediately, and the plates were removed right away. He explained that the cleaning staff had taken the dishes out too soon. I don't think this happens often, but for cheese-based dishes, it's important to check the freshness before serving.

20/02/2026: It's hard to judge this place with its dilapidated exterior and the fact that the door is locked, contrary to what is indicated on the internet.

25/05/2026: Don't be fooled! We booked two nights at this 3-star hotel, at €170 per night for a "deluxe double room with bathroom" (according to the invoice). Nothing but problems with this establishment: Rooms on exterior walkways with lots of stairs (no elevator). The room was shabby; the bathroom was outdated with a shower in a bathtub; the toilet door opened directly onto the headboard; the bathroom heater was faulty; and there was no soundproofing in the rooms (the noise of the nearby stream was very annoying and tiring after a while!). The welcome was minimal, there was no heating in the room when we arrived, and we felt like we were bothering them when we asked for an extra duvet. As for dinner, it was just as bad as everything else—far from acceptable! A motorway service station cafeteria would do better. The indoor pool was old and had a freezing cold shower. We fled the very next morning and went to another hotel! A real one! At "La Vallée Heureuse" (The Happy Valley), the customer is nothing more than a credit card, expected to endure mediocrity without a word of complaint! The manager's defense is a full-blown attack, labeling the dissatisfied customer as "bad, threatening, vulgar," and saying things like, "As soon as I saw you arrive," etc. Absolutely no professionalism, very poor value for money for a so-called 3-star establishment, and a bad image for Poligny and the surrounding area. On TripAdvisor, the manager doesn't hesitate to respond with lies or threats in an attempt to intimidate dissatisfied customers. No dignity, no seriousness, and bordering on illegal.

19/05/2026: Avoid at all costs! A nightmare that thankfully ended with our early departure for another hotel in the area. "La Vallée Heureuse" is a shabby hotel where mediocrity reigns supreme. The welcome was rushed. The room and bathroom were outdated. The small balcony was dirty. The heating was faulty. Dinner consisted of meat served with mashed potatoes that looked like something you'd find in a school cafeteria. The indoor pool was old and poorly maintained. The photos don't reflect the current state of the hotel at all. And the worst part: the noise of the stream (not mentioned online), as well as a large number of steep stairs (also not mentioned online). Be warned, if you express your disappointment to the manager, he will call you "vulgar, aggressive, and condescending." His tone became threatening when we pointed out that, for the benefit of other tourists, we were going to post a review online. In conclusion, this hotel is in dire straits, and its manager tries to hide (during the booking process) that he couldn't care less about customer satisfaction. A true disgrace to the industry. Want to see for yourself? Read how he responds to dissatisfied customers... Blatant attacks and lies. Is this dignified and professional? Certainly not. I want to clarify that his response on TripAdvisor is misleading: I don't run a social media account where I create advertisements. I'm simply a very dissatisfied customer who left after one night. The owner became offended and aggressive. He does this to all his unhappy customers and doesn't hesitate to invent lies to discredit them.

09/08/2026: Disappointed by the place, which seemed welcoming. €10.50 for two 1664 beers (a strange choice) that weren't cold and a glass of lemonade. Too expensive for such low-quality drinks. There are wooden games at the end of the terrace, but they're not accessible to customers. They should remove the "restaurant" sign and refuse customers if the place is only a bed and breakfast, as the listing and Google reviews seem to indicate.
