22/09/2026: The trout en papillote was delicious. The presentation of some dishes was very original.

18/09/2026: This meal was a real treat, even though the waiter was alone at lunchtime. The wait was very reasonable and the service was excellent; we were even able to chat with him a little. I highly recommend it.

28/09/2026: I'll start with the positives: the staff was friendly and I received good service. Now for the rest... I paid 21 euros for grilled ham with Comté cheese sauce! Why not, I guess? It's in the city center, it's a tourist trap, it's expensive, but okay. The Comté cheese sauce was sliced, the ham was nothing special, and the side dish was a pint of wilted button mushrooms, sweet potato, and overcooked potatoes with extra oil, along with a lovely pan of wrinkled zucchini (almost early October). A mediocre dish at a price that should reflect real culinary expertise (apart from the 8-12 salads and other dishes on offer, there are only 4 main courses). In short, awful.

19/09/2026: It's hard to give an opinion. We wanted to eat at a nice table, but there were only two of us, so we were invited to the only table for two, in the passageway at the end of the terrace—the best spot for dogs. Surely that empty terrace was waiting for dozens of couples... Anyway, two wasted meals.

08/10/2026: A very nice place. The waitresses are very friendly and attentive, especially when you're having a nice aperitif at 11 am.

07/10/2026: Passing by on my motorcycle with friends, we asked for the daily special and were told it was only for workers and businesses! I've never seen anything like it in the 43 years I've been eating lunch outside for work. Furthermore, the service was far too slow. I absolutely do not recommend it.

11/10/2026: Disappointing value for money. The food is clearly lacking in flavor and doesn't justify the prices. The Caesar salad's only "homemade" aspect is its dressing, which, while good, was served in excessive quantities. The crispy chicken was cold, tasteless, and had a texture reminiscent of frozen food. Under these circumstances, it's difficult to find any trace of the establishment's promise of local produce. The second course was equally disappointing: a flavorless sea bream accompanied only by brown rice, without a single vegetable. A dish sorely lacking in both taste and accompaniment. Given these two dishes, the claims about the freshness and local origin of the ingredients are perplexing. When such promises are made, one expects to see them actually reflected on the plate. The prices are high considering the quality offered. Even compared to a Parisian brasserie, the value for money is clearly lacking. The only positive point is the service, which is decent and fairly quick.

27/05/2026: I came to eat last Sunday. It was the first time I'd ever eaten alone in a restaurant, and I have a very bad memory of it. I ordered the two-smoked salad with duck breast and smoked trout: a huge disappointment. I started eating and discovered about ten bugs in the salad; it's unacceptable. I told them, and they apologized by bringing me a second salad. I decided to check the salad just in case, and I discovered that it was also infested with bugs! I've included photos as proof (the black spots on the salad). It's completely unacceptable; I don't even want to imagine the hygiene in the kitchen. I didn't even dare order another course. They brought me a glass of champagne as an apology, and I even paid for the single scoop of ice cream that served as my meal. It's shameful!

22/05/2026: The setting is lovely for a pleasant break. However, we had an unpleasant experience with the waiter who brought our order back with a bloody finger – not very professional. There was a drop of blood on the table, as well as on our glasses and ice cream. Not very professional at all.

09/08/2026: As always, it was perfect. Today I tried a small cake, still as delicious as ever. Last time, it was ice cream. The welcome was very friendly and the terrace was lovely. Thank you ☺️

08/08/2026: Simply wonderful. Sitting comfortably in your seat and trying all the sweets.

21/09/2026: Overall, the food was good. As for dessert, avoid the crème brûlée, which is nothing more than cream with uncaramelized sugar. Regarding the service: Every time we asked a question, we felt like we were bothering them. The waitress couldn't answer any questions about the daily special. The service was slow. One of the drinks served was different from the one we ordered. When we pointed this out, there were no apologies; we had to ask for a different one, which only added to our annoyance.

19/09/2026: Three people were working behind the bar, but we had to wait 20 minutes for a coffee and a tea. And of course, everything was cold.

05/03/2026: If you want to eat a good burger, you can go there with your eyes closed; it's delicious, fresh, and the combinations are well thought out. However, I find them a little pricey! But as they say, quality comes at a price. I look forward to coming back to Lons to eat your burgers!

20/02/2026: It's hard to judge this place with its dilapidated exterior and the fact that the door is locked, contrary to what is indicated on the internet.

25/05/2026: Don't be fooled! We booked two nights at this 3-star hotel, at €170 per night for a "deluxe double room with bathroom" (according to the invoice). Nothing but problems with this establishment: Rooms on exterior walkways with lots of stairs (no elevator). The room was shabby; the bathroom was outdated with a shower in a bathtub; the toilet door opened directly onto the headboard; the bathroom heater was faulty; and there was no soundproofing in the rooms (the noise of the nearby stream was very annoying and tiring after a while!). The welcome was minimal, there was no heating in the room when we arrived, and we felt like we were bothering them when we asked for an extra duvet. As for dinner, it was just as bad as everything else—far from acceptable! A motorway service station cafeteria would do better. The indoor pool was old and had a freezing cold shower. We fled the very next morning and went to another hotel! A real one! At "La Vallée Heureuse" (The Happy Valley), the customer is nothing more than a credit card, expected to endure mediocrity without a word of complaint! The manager's defense is a full-blown attack, labeling the dissatisfied customer as "bad, threatening, vulgar," and saying things like, "As soon as I saw you arrive," etc. Absolutely no professionalism, very poor value for money for a so-called 3-star establishment, and a bad image for Poligny and the surrounding area. On TripAdvisor, the manager doesn't hesitate to respond with lies or threats in an attempt to intimidate dissatisfied customers. No dignity, no seriousness, and bordering on illegal.

19/05/2026: Avoid at all costs! A nightmare that thankfully ended with our early departure for another hotel in the area. "La Vallée Heureuse" is a shabby hotel where mediocrity reigns supreme. The welcome was rushed. The room and bathroom were outdated. The small balcony was dirty. The heating was faulty. Dinner consisted of meat served with mashed potatoes that looked like something you'd find in a school cafeteria. The indoor pool was old and poorly maintained. The photos don't reflect the current state of the hotel at all. And the worst part: the noise of the stream (not mentioned online), as well as a large number of steep stairs (also not mentioned online). Be warned, if you express your disappointment to the manager, he will call you "vulgar, aggressive, and condescending." His tone became threatening when we pointed out that, for the benefit of other tourists, we were going to post a review online. In conclusion, this hotel is in dire straits, and its manager tries to hide (during the booking process) that he couldn't care less about customer satisfaction. A true disgrace to the industry. Want to see for yourself? Read how he responds to dissatisfied customers... Blatant attacks and lies. Is this dignified and professional? Certainly not. I want to clarify that his response on TripAdvisor is misleading: I don't run a social media account where I create advertisements. I'm simply a very dissatisfied customer who left after one night. The owner became offended and aggressive. He does this to all his unhappy customers and doesn't hesitate to invent lies to discredit them.

16/10/2026: The saleswoman was unpleasant and impatient, made mistakes with orders, and got angry when we pointed them out. She shouldn't be allowed to interact with customers. The food was decent, although there wasn't much choice in sandwiches, and the salads were hidden near the counter where you paid.

15/10/2026: Excellent bakery which, in addition to selling bread and cakes, offers seasonal and organic vegetables, which is a plus.
