17/05/2026: The feeling of being at home, the warmest and most genuine welcome I've ever received at a Relais & Châteaux, the chef leading by example with his exceptional availability and willingness to engage. This is rare indeed; perhaps the family history of the place contributes to this simplicity amidst the exceptional moments the hotel offers. Hats off to the excellent dinner, full of gustatory surprises and intriguing questions, showcasing local produce; the wine pairing was also superb. The dream breakfast also deserves mention, though it's sadly impossible to try everything! Keep it up, keep it up, keep it up...
03/05/2026: I was delighted to have the opportunity to dine at Frédéric Doucet's restaurant. A superb menu showcasing Burgundian products. Rich, flavorful sauces that will linger on my palate. The service was highly professional, with young, dynamic, and attentive waitresses. An extraordinary sommelier who knows his wines inside and out and who respects your requests to the letter... a second Michelin star entirely deserved, with a chef who is very approachable.

15/05/2026: An unlikely place, a decor...as old as the music...mine...80s...so kitschy...so good...but really kitschy...and on the plate...the very best of the 80s...eternally a delight for the palate, a "mmm" with every bite from the appetizer to the snails, the frogs' legs, the rib-eye steak, the dessert...everything is simply succulent...a minor point about the wine list...2 or 3 Côtes du Rhône...we would gladly take them...but the best restaurant in the area...and we've been to them all...thank you for these wonderful moments and see you very, very soon...

01/05/2026: This restaurant was a pleasant surprise; it was recommended to us by the owner of the gîte in Mesvres. There were still seats available for the second seating. The dishes were very good and well-prepared, featuring local produce and friendly service. A little background music would have been a nice touch. I recommend this restaurant.

10/06/2026: Welcome: very friendly and the waiter was very pleasant even though we hadn't made a reservation. Menu: choice between fish or meat, two starters and two desserts. Restrooms: clean. Meal: nice tray of bread provided, very good starter and main course, a little disappointed with the brookie which was more like a cookie, but otherwise, nothing to complain about regarding the food, simply delicious for a place found on Google. Time: the restaurant was full so we just waited for our main course to be served for four of us together. Not accessible for people with reduced mobility as there are steps at the entrance. Overall: I highly recommend it, a very good find and excellent food overall, good atmosphere and regulars who know where to eat well!
30/05/2026: A delightful discovery is the Bar des Arcades, located in the heart of the town, opposite the statue of the illustrious Jean-Baptiste Greuze and the Tournus town hall. While the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, Romain Jolivet's service remains professional, and, a rarity in this area, they speak fluent English to ensure a warm welcome for all kinds of visitors to the town. The cuisine, described as unpretentious, is surprisingly generous and flavorful. Here, there's no doubt that everything is truly "homemade," and, despite the Michelin-starred restaurants scattered throughout the town, the young Chef Christophe Bastien knows exactly how to delight both the eyes and the palate, from appetizer to dessert, without breaking the bank. The creamy gazpacho with its soft-boiled egg, garnished with small sprigs of lamb's lettuce discreetly dressed with a touch of balsamic cream, was a welcome refreshment and a perfect way to whet the appetite. After this delightful amuse-bouche, came the magnificent fillets of pike-perch, deliciously roasted and tenderly pearly in the center, served on a flavorful mashed potato. The butter and hazelnut pieces harmonized beautifully with the capers and subtle hints of lemon zest, subtly enhancing the delicate flavors of the fish. So, the chocolate dessert might seem excessive, or too conventional? Not at all! Even here, creativity is key to surprising the palates of gourmets and ending the meal in style: the three chocolates, nestled on a thin layer of iced sponge cake, neither too sweet nor too rich, are accompanied by a delicate passion fruit sorbet and tiny particles of lime zest—perfect for digesting this little feast without any trouble, despite the sweltering heat of late May. A delightful surprise, then, that makes you really want to go back.

10/05/2026: A wonderful experience. We chose the €36 menu and everything was delicious. As an amuse-bouche, we were offered a creamy asparagus soup and delightful little gougères. The farm egg with artichoke was excellent, as was the beef with gribiche sauce. The service was top-notch, professional, and pleasant. I highly recommend it.

27/06/2026: GO FOR IT!!! A true gastronomic revelation 🤩 From the amuse-bouches to the petit fours, everything was perfect. Incredible technique, perfectly balanced flavors, everything is homemade and you can taste it in every bite. Plus, the wine pairings are superb! Bravo to Franck in the kitchen and Francine in the dining room: this place is definitely worth the detour!!!

04/05/2026: We stayed for one night with friends, including a “gastronomic dinner.” Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The hotel itself is beautiful, but upon arrival we were informed that the air conditioning would not be available (because they decided we don't need airco!!!). We were simply told to open the windows if it became too warm... not exactly a great start. Overall, despite the owners’ apparent willingness to do their best, the dinner was far from gastronomic standards. During the four-course meal, the pacing was extremely rushed: we received the second course barely three minutes after finishing the first. It felt as though the dishes had been prepared in advance and kept warm, ready to be served as quickly as possible, which clearly affected both texture and taste. Our overall impression is that the hotel and restaurant are struggling, and that this is reflected in an inconsistent level of service and a lack of confidence in execution. The concept and pricing suggest a high-end experience, but the reality does not match. For instance, €8 for a glass of cola or €18 for a glass of Viré-Clessé would be acceptable if the overall experience justified it but this is far from the case. Even the decision to limit the use of air conditioning gives the impression of cost-cutting at the expense of guest comfort. In its current state, the establishment would benefit from a complete rethink of its positioning and service standards, as the quality simply does not justify the prices charged.
