08/09/2024: A hellish getaway! Yes, the oxymoron is intentional to emphasize the horror! We experienced verbal attacks and aberrant service in a very bland setting and a tense, even violent atmosphere. We left for a long weekend at this address that we knew (a royal arrogance the first time - but acceptable). If you have to specify your profession to be respected - which seems to be the case with the people at the establishment - we are doctors of science and letters in the world of scientific research and academic letters and lawyers. First we were greeted by the son who pointed at us because we didn't come with our dog and he had spent a lot of time arranging all the tables for people with dogs ( fortunately we didn't take her with us because she would have reacted really badly to the yelling from the son and his father... more details to come). Then he told my family member to go find his room on the first floor using his hands. The second clue that this stay was going to be bad! After entering our room on the ground floor, we opened the curtains to see our view of a dirt hill 2 meters outside our window. A room with malfunctioning lights and our room was smaller and dated than our guest's single room. No bathrobe for the pool, looks of disapproval towards certain customers (with dogs or customers younger than the majority clientele) and “Brown-nosing” (I avoid using the word in French here because it is so vulgar ) with these… in short! After being poorly served for the aperitif, we had a glass of house rosé (not very good) and looked at the menu. The father came to our table; he didn't sit still, barely looked at us while looking for the gaze of I don't know who, and he asked us if we had chosen. As soon as I said “not yet”, the father turned around and left, raising his hands and cutting me off before I could finish my sentence to ask questions! We all looked at each other in amazement and speechless! This reigning arrogance was not conducive to a pleasant evening. So, we got up and went to our rooms without having eaten dinner. While going out a little later for a walk, the son stopped us to ask what happened. I couldn't finish my answer without the father yelling at me saying we were liars, the son yelling saying this wasn't happening and that they had worked so hard to prepare the tables and dinner (a la carte or menu, so what was the problem?)! Then... the son said with unprecedented aggression that we were banned from the hotel forever! I tried to ask them if we couldn’t talk calmly – “no, that’s not possible!” You are banned! » It would never occur to us to go back! It seemed like they felt the customers were there for them and their “glory”. I also think that they couldn't stand a woman keeping her cool while daring to contradict them in French (my second language). Needless to say, we left the next morning. Finally we found a hotel in Vaison-la-Romaine where we had an experience of the opposite: an impeccable welcome, warm hosts - the most human and generous we have ever seen, everything in a calm, simple, joyful and pleasant setting with delicious meals. What a total change! I hesitated to write this review because I was, we were, traumatized by this nightmarish experience and I did not want any more retaliation, but it is true that someone who is mistreated must hold the abuser responsible; so we realized that I had to say what happened. As Max recently wrote, never come here unless you value disrespect, arrogance, and insults.

06/09/2024: I am stunned. Unfortunately, I witnessed Max Bayer's experience. The hosts are insolent and insulting. His wife was insulted, sworn at and challenged after her dog barked. Such behavior from hosts is indeed extremely unprofessional and inappropriate! the rooms are very basic and need renovation. Proper cleaning would also be desirable. Same thing for meals. No love is present. No quality. No taste. Disservice. 3 stars are definitely not justified here. an anonymous hotel tester.

22/09/2024: Un restaurant d’un cadre magnifique,avec ce superbe Grill au milieu de la clientèle afin de vous faire découvrir de A/Z la manière de si prendre derrière le BBQ… service rapide, équipe en salle jeune très dynamique et souriant… Vous aimez manger un bon morceau de viande grillé au feu de bois, alors les yeux fermés allez y…TOP Et n’hésitez pas à laisser un petit pourboire et vous aurez droit le son du cochon…À découvrir absolument 👍👍👌👌

23/09/2024: Very nice little cafe. Lovingly furnished. The pain au chocolat was a dream. The espresso is powerful. Coffee/tea from different countries are offered for sale as beans. The seller, very pleasant demeanor.

13/07/2024: Une honte! Je réserve par téléphone une table pour 3 personnes. Quand nous arrivons (à l'heure prévue) l'employée nous dit qu"elle n'est pas au courant, que le patron-cuisinier n'est pas là, qu'elle va l'appeler pour qu'il vienne nous faire un repas. Bien sûr personne ne répond à cet appel. Elle pense que ce soir l'établissement est seulement ouvert pour le bar. Nous repartons à la recherche d'un restaurant plus accueillant.

24/09/2024: The excellent cuisine, the charming and picturesque location at the foot of Maubec, and near the GR6 for hikers. The only downside is the acoustics of the large room when there are slightly noisy groups.

16/08/2024: Een heerlijke plek. In een rustig gelegen gedeelte. Net voorbij de Bovenstad. Super bediening maar vooral ook heerlijk gegeten. Mooi opgemaakte borden en heerlijk verse producten. Fijne smaken zonder ergens te overheersen. Een zeer goed aanbevolen wijn van La ferme Saint Pierre. Roi Faineant 2022 Heerlijke volle wijn. Genoten van deze avond!

20/08/2024: Gravelax salmon gnocchi are actually served with poor quality smoked salmon. The gnocchi were floury and the sauce tasteless. Chicken with chorizo ​​sauce is characterized by the absence of chorizo. And the portions are ridiculously small. On the other hand, at the service level we are still waiting for the requested ice cubes. Only the wine saved the evening. Address to avoid....

12/08/2024: Charming and very smiling welcome. The cuisine is homemade. The dishes are varied and of very high quality. Regarding the wines, the prices are very reasonable. We are still in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. I highly recommend.

02/09/2024: A great find, well worth a visit. Reception always friendly, food really tasty and local and the wines are to die for :) Another top lunch today, not open in the evening.

18/09/2024: Never got to taste the food - after sitting at a table (which we cleared ourselves ) and watched by the waitress / manager / owner for 20 minutes ? She eventually came over and asked what we wanted -we selected a few dishes - then she informed us that the kitchen closed 20 minutes ago 🤨 No apology - really bad attitude - what a pity - I will avoid Goult next time - very overpriced and superior attitudes all round .
