03/03/2026: The welcome, the food, the presentation of the dishes, everything was excellent, a real treat! Congratulations to the restaurant owners, we enjoyed celebrating our wedding anniversary in this magnificent, tastefully decorated inn.

01/03/2026: We discovered this restaurant, and I can assure you that my day, ruined by a car breakdown since 10:30 am with a repair scheduled for 2 pm, put me in a wonderfully cheerful mood. The owners were friendly and smiling, and best of all, they adapted the dishes to accommodate my food allergies—something I've never experienced at other restaurants. The gourmet dishes were presented beautifully, delighting my taste buds throughout the meal, and the dessert was specially created for me—a real treat. You leave this restaurant feeling satisfied because the portions are so generous. It's been years since I've enjoyed a meal in a restaurant this much. Thank you so much, and I will definitely be back. The prices are affordable for such gourmet cuisine, so go without hesitation.

07/11/2025: Under new ownership for the past year. New layout, decor, and equipment. A very warm welcome from the entire team, and they were very attentive. Unbeatable value for money in Machecoul. Plenty of choice. A touch of history and a touch of magic. Located on one of the highest points in the area, the restaurant "La Croix Verte" sits at the crossroads of historical sites in Machecoul. *To the right of the entrance, the beginning of the Roman road to Fresnay-en-Retz. The village of Sainte-Croix (Machecoul didn't exist at the time). *A few meters away, the old church of St. John the Baptist and, before that, the first fortified wooden castle in Sainte-Croix. "And the road leading to Sainte-Pazanne towards the Saint-Lazare estate. This green cross was the emblem of the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus (11th/12th century). The Order of Saint Lazarus still exists for humanitarian work. Several military orders were present in Machecoul from the 11th century onwards (Saint Lazarus/The Hospitallers/The Templars)."

22/03/2026: First visit to this restaurant located 100 meters from the sea. A very warm welcome from a friendly gentleman who showed us our table choices. Beautiful decor. We had the set menu (starter, main course, dessert) for €24.50. Good value for money. A nice wine list with something for every budget. I will definitely return.

31/03/2026: For a second visit, still satisfied. I came with my partner, my aunt, and my parents for my dad's birthday. Everyone was happy, and we were planning to return. The dishes were generous and well-prepared, the service very friendly, and the setting really lovely. The only downside...it gets a bit noisy when it's busy, but that's a common problem everywhere.

06/03/2026: We had a very good lunch at this restaurant on the Île d'Yeu. Everything was delicious (except for the dessert), the fish was perfectly cooked, and the sauces were very well balanced. The service was pleasant and efficient.

01/11/2025: Excellent, beautifully prepared dishes. Our two fish were cooked to perfection, the cheeks were exceptionally tender and flavorful, and the side dishes were excellent, all for a very reasonable price considering the quality.

10/04/2026: We discovered this restaurant thanks to a friend, we went and left amazed. The food was of incredible quality, the service was exemplary, and the view is breathtaking. Go for it without hesitation!

03/12/2025: We were lucky enough to participate in a "Challenge Your Taste Buds" evening. The team was fantastic, from the kitchen to the dining room! Special mention to Maloé for organizing and hosting the event! We discovered new dishes and wines in a fun and friendly atmosphere (even for a wine novice like me 😃, a great experience). We'd love to do it again! 🤩

01/12/2025: We came for lunch on November 27th to celebrate my 70th birthday. I should mention right away that we were the only customers during lunchtime. My wife chose the set menu, and I opted for two dishes à la carte, mainly the beef. We accompanied our meal with two glasses of champagne, which was very good, as well as two glasses of wine. The starters were decent. As for the main courses, my wife enjoyed her hake with scallops; however, I was extremely disappointed when my beef was served. Instead of a piece of beef, I received a round sample of meat, 4 to 5 cm in diameter and 3 to 4 cm high. It's very small for a piece of beef, but I would have been satisfied if it had met my expectations: seared, rare as requested, tender, and flavorful. None of that! A piece of dark meat, unappealing to look at, undercooked, rubbery, and tasteless. I didn't ask for a replacement because if, from the outset, a renowned gourmet restaurant can't serve you a decent piece of meat, there's no point in expecting more, since it should simply be seared and cooked to the requested doneness! I did mention this to the young waiter, who was otherwise perfect throughout the meal. As for dessert, it was presented with a small birthday candle on a chilled plate (frozen??). The petit fours that accompanied the coffee and herbal tea were still cold inside (again, frozen??). This is all too much for a supposedly upscale restaurant! At the register, I again brought up my beef with the owner. She showed absolutely no understanding, saying, "This is the first time I've ever heard such a comment," and I understood perfectly well that it meant nothing to her and that the problem wasn't with the food or her. So, of course, no gesture of goodwill to make up for this lack of professionalism! At over €80 per person, this shouldn't exist. Needless to say, we won't be going back! Luckily, the next day in Noirmoutier, we were able to put this misadventure behind us by discovering a small restaurant that was packed with older locals who know how to appreciate good food.

21/11/2025: This is a fantastic ice cream shop (the best around). If you're on vacation here and want to enjoy some delicious ice cream, crepes, etc., this is the place. They have so many choices that you'll want to come back to try all sorts of things... there are tons of different flavors, it's really great! Plus, the service is wonderful, and they were incredibly kind and immediately offered to give our dogs water. A really lovely time with the family, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
