06/12/2025: The hotel is perfectly fine on the seafront. However, the €19 breakfast is a big NO!!! We went to have one at the port for half the price. The restaurant is far too expensive and of mediocre quality. To elaborate on your response, we specifically mentioned that the quality wasn't up to par, and as for the refined atmosphere, we were seated at a table of about twelve people, including children (no problem), one of whom was running around shouting, without your staff intervening to restore calm to the room for the sake of the other 40 guests. A shame, in our opinion, because the service itself was very good.

04/12/2025: Eight years ago, I said the location was ideal and the food was decent. I recently went back for a business dinner featuring scallops: a disaster. At a fishing port, after watching the boats come in, I ordered seared scallops and risotto. The result: ridiculously small scallops, clearly frozen, not seared at all but literally boiled. And this in the middle of the season, when nearly 3,000 tons are landed annually in Port-en-Bessin. It's incomprehensible. My advice: avoid it.

20/03/2026: Honestly, what a fantastic find! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal from start to finish. The food is superb, the ingredients are incredibly fresh, and the service... impeccable, the team is absolutely lovely and incredibly professional. We'll definitely be back!

The owner is particularly welcoming, smiling, and attentive to customers, which really makes a difference. You can tell he puts his heart into his establishment and the quality of service. 14/03/2026: Booking.com subscribers PLEASE NOTE! I stayed here on February 24th. That was a deliberate choice. I was kindly welcomed by an elderly lady who showed me to a parking spot due to the Wednesday morning market. I was here to enjoy a nice meal and review a local restaurant. I had read the reviews and knew what to expect. I found the room fine, though I did have to search for a power outlet for my PC for a bit. Upon returning from my delicious dinner, I found a Post-it note on my door asking me to report to reception. There, Francois told me that he had not received the payment from Booking.com. In good faith, I paid again, and upon returning home, it turned out that it had indeed been debited from my credit card. I have now been in contact with Francois for over a week to get this refunded. To date, without success. Should he repay quickly, I will report it here. It is now March 14th, and I have tried to contact him multiple times a week; Francois keeps asking for bank statements and reservation numbers, etc. I have sent them every time, but still have not received payment. On Monday, I will contact Booking.com Customer Service to report this. I really tried to resolve this amicably.

18/03/2026: The welcome was very friendly, the waitress lovely, but the burger was really disappointing. The homemade bun wasn't good, and the presentation was basic. What a shame…

05/03/2026: We had a little snack today; the chocolate crepe was excellent, made to order (which is much better than a reheated one), and the hot chocolate was delicious. The service was warm and welcoming. We'll be back!

15/03/2026: We came on Sunday, March 8, 2026, around 4 pm. The crepes were good, but it's a shame the waitress wasn't friendly and unmotivated. When you're in this line of work, you don't sigh in front of customers or say, "I can't wait for tonight." If this isn't for you, change careers.

04/03/2026: Not great...the galette was too salty, and the leeks and carrots inside were too sickening. I only ate the scallops. Too noisy upstairs. We were jostled by people and waitresses because our table was right in the middle of the room...Disappointed. Yet I come every summer. Maybe there's been a change in the kitchen?

01/12/2025: My favorite little restaurant in the old port area. The Camembert crisp is absolutely delicious, and the chicken à la Normande is one of my favorite dishes. The restaurant is pleasant and the food is always good. I highly recommend it.

30/11/2025: If you're used to cooking, don't go to this restaurant. We didn't enjoy the dishes at all, especially the sea bass and scallops. As for the wine by the glass, you don't see the bottle because it's not served in front of you. The tarte Tatin dessert was okay. I wanted to try it despite the rather negative reviews. 27/01/2026: Fantastic restaurant! Warm welcome, lovely waitresses always smiling. The quality of the food is remarkable, with a large part of the menu made in-house. That's so rare these days, kudos to the whole team!

09/03/2026: We had the set menu with galette and crepes plus cider. It tasted very good. Unfortunately, the crepes were a bit cold.

06/03/2026: The decor is nice. We received a warm welcome. The galettes were good but not very generous inside. (They were Camembert galettes, but there was very little Camembert cheese). Pay attention to the expiration dates on the bottles, as the Diet Coke was expired.

10/03/2026: Absolutely beautiful chocolate creations here! I had to find one that wouldn't break in my suitcase. The wonderful employee wrapped my chocolate so it would be safe. Thank you! Incredibly reasonable prices... The sculptures would be 10x the price in the USA.

01/03/2026: We've been loyal Larnicol customers ever since we first discovered this chocolatier years ago in Concarneau, at the very beginning of their business. We especially love their caramels. But not anymore! The amount of butter has been drastically reduced and replaced with sugar. We're no longer buying caramels, but sugar cubes... So, our purchase this week will be our last. It's a shame because the staff at the Caen store are very pleasant.
